I'm gonna try and restart this blog to help me do something everyday.
14/06/2018 || Berlin (08/06 - 11/06) So my trip to Berlin was awesome. The Dan and Phil show "Interactive Introverts" was really cool, it was nice meeting mutuals again (I already went to Tatinof in 2016). The city is cool but very busy (as most capitals are) because there are lots of tourists. My friend and I went sightseeing and went to Madame Tussauds which was pretty small but still nice. After all my studying for religion I'm kinda obsessed with Marx and Freud so everytime I hear anything about them I just start talking about them which probably annoys everyone and which is enevitably especially with Marx in Berlin. But of course the best part of the trip was getting to spend time with my best friend (cheesy but true).
What i’ve learned from college thus far
Stop studying the night before. I have noticed that if i keep forcing myself to learn until last minute (which it’s not gonna happen, you know what you have been processing for a while not just right before they hand the paper sheets) i start doubting myself more
Go with an “i don’t care anymore” attitude. This one is my fave. With this i mean letting go of every single worry you may have of failing. If you don’t care about failing there’s no tension or stress during the exam, therefore you will be able to think more clearly than under pressure.
Figure out your minimum hours of sleep. I learned that i need at least 5 hours to function properly. Find yours and use it in your favor.
Relationships with classmates. You probably will only see your friends in some classes or just one, dont let this unmotivate you and not attend to lectures!! Everyone is asleep and no one will think you’re awkward for sitting alone. Don’t force friendships or try acting like someone you’re not, people can see it and repells them.
Relationships with teachers. Can’t stress this enough, if you’re gonna put effort in creating a bond with someone in college, it has to be your teachers. Try getting there early and pick a seat in the front, make questions via email or in person, if you’re shy like me wait until the end of the lecture and talk to the teacher instead of asking out loud.
Learn from failure. Don’t waste precious time giving yourself a hard time, it won’t make you any smarter. Pay attention to details and correct them for the next time, that’s how champs do it AND YOU’RE ONE OF THEM!
Relaxing. I know how guilty you feel when it’s been days and you haven’t looked at your notes, but hey we all go through that. It’s important to disconnect a little sometimes and come back with a %100 battery instead of a %35, am i right? Just don’t let the relaxation become 2 weeks or a whole month.
Hope these few tips may help you if you need them ♡

I almost forgot to post completely (ooops). I got all of my results yesterday. In English I got an A (14 points in the German systen) and in French and Maths I got a B (11 points) which is okay but I guess I am least expected French to be better. That gives me a result of 1,3 at my Abitur altogether which is pretty amazing to be honest.
Now I'm in Berlin for a few days to see "Interactive Introverts" by Dan and Phil.
16/05/2018 I actually sat down today with a friend and went through the courses at universities nearby that interest me. A few days ago I looked at them shortly and just wrote all that interested me down but today I actually organised them and ruled a few out. It's definitely not a decision yet but it's at least a step in the right direction. My biggest problem is not knowing what I wanna do later. I'm interesting in quite a few things which are sometimes total opposites. I could probably study everything's I want, my grades should be good enough but that's no help if I don't actually know what to study. For now, I've written down notes for five different courses (three of which are Masters which means I'd have to study something else beforehand).

I don't know yet what to do with this blog now that I'm not especially studying for anything. I think I'm still gonna post something every now and then but not regularly.
Today I went to the library and borrowed three books and then bought two books at a flea market. At home I repositioned everything in my room which made me very excited because I wanted to for a long time.
Plus at some point I'm going to university and the blog will be helpful to organize my studies then.
09/05/2018 || Religion oral exam
Today was the day of my last exam: the oral exam in Religion. I thought it went well but was a bit sceptical because my teacher literally went over every topic except two and I was guessing on one or two questions.
Well, turns out I've got an A+. That's literally so crazy and I'm so happy! Seems like all my studying really payed off which is amazing.
15 Studying Tips (mainly for HS):
1. Work in sections each day- don’t try and get everything done in one go.
2. Try a timed break method to let yourself rest when you have a lot of work to do. I personally do a 30 minute studying session and 20 minute break in between.
3. A finals studying method: If you have a class like history and need to remember a lot of events and concepts, gather all your old papers and write down the main topic of each. Once you have all the topics, write everything you know about them in bullet points. If you can’t think of anything, reread/scan over the paper. Repeat until you get the main idea of all the topics. Bonus: rewrite all the information into a compacted study guide for later studying.
4. If you like to highlight- only use about 2-3 colors if it’s only a worksheet. More than three colors works better with longer text and books. I’d also recommend using pastel or light highlighters because it’s much easier to read the words plus it won’t bleed through as much.
5. Try listening to music when studying. You never know if you work better with some background noise. I personally use video game/anime/movie background instrumentals.
6. Another tip about listening to music- try using music you’ve listened to over and over. If you use a song you’ve never heard before, you’ll be tempted to get distracted and listen to the song instead of focusing.
7. Have a finger snack nearby like pretzels, crackers, fruit etc. Having a meal while studying can be distracting because you’ll want to eat instead of study. Plus, it’ll make studying a lot slower and more tedious.
8. Plan, plan, plan! Having multiple projects and tests coming up can really stress you the hell out if you only have one night to do it all. Plan ahead of time and schedule a few days to study before the test.
9. Over the weekend or when you don’t have anything to study for, tidy your desk. Get rid of any old paper you know you won’t need and throw away trash. If you have the extra time, clean your whole room.
10. Try and get inspired with studyinspo. Or maybe you like motivational quotes or ‘tough love’ type of motivation; anything that can get you feeling artsy and determined is good in my book. Spend a couple minutes or even twenty minutes to try and get inspired.
11. If it’s been over twenty minutes and you still aren’t feeling it, you may have to force it. Sit down in your chair and work for five minutes. Feeling up to it now? No? Keep going for another five minutes. If by now you still aren’t motivated you may have to wait until tomorrow to study or continue to force it.
12. Try not to be absent if a big test is coming up. The extra day of being in class will be so helpful compared to skipping a day. But mental health days are important too.
13. Talk to your teacher. Ask them questions during and after class to show that you care. Even ask some casual questions about their day. There’s many benefits if you become friends with the teacher. Who knows, they may let you get an extra point on a test even if you don’t exactly deserve it.
14. Make your own study guide if the teacher doesn’t supply you one. Ask what’s going to be on the test and jot down them down to review later. Staying after can benefit too if the teacher is vague on the test content.
15. After the test/project is over, treat yourself. Even if it’s an extra long, hot shower or binging on a tv show, give yourself some type of reward. You can also plan a reward before a test so afterwards, you have something to look forward to.
08/05/2018 || Religion For my last day of studying for Religion, I summarized all my 60+ pages of notes again in about 10 pages. It took me the majority of the day (without The Big Bang Theory) and then I went over the shortened notes again. I think this is the exam I'm most nervous about because it's oral. Like when you've said something, you've said it. You can't take it back. Also my teacher loves cross-references and I'm afraid I can't make any. Plus it's soo much stuff to know, it's impossible for me to know everything. The exam is gonna be divided into two parts. For the first one, I'm gonna be given a text and have thirty minutes to prepare the tasks which I then have to present. For the second part, the teachers are just gonna ask questions. On the upside, I'm gonna get the results on the same day.
Just start. Start that assignment, start studying. It does have to be perfect it just has to be a start.
- reminder to myself
07/05/2018 || Religion (at least a bit) I spent today mostly by watching The Big Bang Theory and being outside because the weather was good. I'm on season 8 by now. The pictures above show a list of all the books I own but haven't read yet or only started. And yes, I got an Avengers notebook For Religion I went over all my notes again and tomorrow I'm going to write everything down again in very short notes.
Why public transport is amazing
Hello people, I really want to write about this because I feel like people who use public transport usually complain on how they don’t like it, and those who don’t use public transport tend to have prejudices on those who do, thinking they are “poor” or “not cool when they could grab a taxi or use their own car”.
Well, before I start writting the amazing advantages public transport has, I want to tell you that when I first started using it on a daily bases, I also hated it. Hated the waiting, the people, the not being able to find a sit, everything. But then, I found myself standing in the subway thinking “dude I’m literally wasting time by being here”, so I started making time spent in the subway time well spent.
Public transport advantages
Good for the enviroment and the planet. That should be enough honestly.
Cheaper, which is nice specially for students who have better things to spend their money on than on gas.
Practical, dude you don’t have to park, figure out the route while using google maps or even go through traffic, which leads me to the next one.
Way less stressful than driving, you just get in and wait till you are wher you wanna go. That’s it. How can that be worse than having to drive a car and go through freaking traffic for like 20 minutes?
It enables you to do something at the same time you are moving. Two things at a time, the most wanted hack e v e r.
Public transport do’s
Write to do lists. If you are using public transport to go to the gym, plan out your workout, if you are getting home from school, plan out your studying afternoon, if you have nothing to plan, make a list of meals you want to try or clothes you want to get. Doesn’t matter what, get organized!!
Review. Since it may be a bit complicated for you to concentrate enough to study, go over your class notes of the day and read them, review them, and get a previous idea on how you want to work them out when you get home.
Read. Always carry a book in your backpack and if you are not feeling like writting a list or using your phone, just open a book and read!! It’s literally that simple and so incredible!
The point is, do something, don’t go there thinking you are about to waste time by being bored and tired, DO SOMETHING. It’s literally free time that’s been given to you while you actually get transported, how can that be bad!!!
06/05/2018 || Religion I finally finished all my notes for Religion which means I completed my ethics notes and also summarized the notes for India (which was a pretty short topic though. And unimportant.). Now I've got about 170 pages summarized in about 65 ... I do know that that's a bad rate because summaries should be shorter but in my defense it really is a lot to learn. From now on I think I'll go over it again and again and maybe look up some possible questions my teacher could ask me in the oral exam.
05/05/2018 || Religion My last big topic I'm summarizing for Religion is "Ethics". I think it's an interesting topic because you can have a lot of discussions because of it. By now I'm also on season 7 of The Big Bang Theory .. which is also once again the reason why I didn't manage to do a lot today. I could probably already be ready if I wouldn't keep binge-watching it. Tomorrow I'm going tutor the neighbors' kid for the first time in Maths (he's in fourth grade) so I'll see how that goes. But he's nice so I'm not worried.
03/05/2018 & 04/05/2018 || Religion I studied today as well as yesterday for Religion. The topic I summarized was church in Nazi Germany and it took me two days because I watched The Big Bang Theory the whole time and because I had a friend who slept over yesterday.
