"Pressure. Pressure building in the air. High pressure means fine weather. A beautiful day. But when the storm comes...is when the pressure...suddenly...DROPS." - Storm, SWORD #11 by Al Ewing.
"The "Lethal Legion" is not just a simple terrorist cell. It's the terrorist army of tomorrow -- at a price you can afford today! You're welcome, Stellaris." - Enhancile Catalogue :: "The Lethal Legion" from SWORD #10 by Al Ewing.
This week we're wrapping up Al Ewing's run of SWORD with issues #9 - #11! Does a more space-focused book work in the Krakoan Era? What plans-within-plans does Abigail Brand have? And, perhaps the most important: what comes next?

[claps hands] COMIC BOOKS!
from X-Force #24-25 by Ben Percy
"I didn't lie....I went with your first impulse. Not the one where you talked yourself out of succeeding."
"Ugh. It is so annoying when you're right, and changing what I said is so you."
"You're welcome. You need the X-Men as much as the X-Men need you, Polaris." - Jean and Polaris, X-Men #5 (2021)
This week we're covering X-Men #5 as we continue our monster-of-the-week and set up for some dramatic, world shattering fallout. Meanwhile, X-Force #24-25 is similarly coverin- wait, sorry? Surfing? baby-napping? LAVA SHARKS??

Just remember....Wolverine is - first and foremost - an action movie as a comic. Everything else comes secondary.
From Wolverine #17 - #18 by Ben Percy
As Excalibur by Tini Howards begins to come to a close, we appreciate that artist Marcus To still takes every single oppertunity to showcase how perfectly he can capture Betsy Braddock. Perhaps one of the biggest highlights of this series has been its' art and we are sad to see it end!
Is that-? It can't be! Our boy Jeff Bannister is back in this week's issues of Wolverine! He and his unfortunate antics are a bright spot in a weird week of issues. We are also covering the second-to-last issue of Excalibur with #25, which runs and never walks.

"I need you to understand. I have your scent now. If I find you preying on us again when we should be dreaming....I will end you." - Jean Grey to Nightmare, X-Men (2021) #4 by Gerry Duggan.
Who else could give a threat to a concept-given-form and get away with?
Emotional, beautiful- a perfect blending of dialogue and art in comics at its' absolute best. The Shadow King arc has been a long one, but its' conclusion is everything we wanted and then some. Just an incredible execution from start to finish. We highly recommend Vita Ayala's run of New Mutants.
This week is another special trio of issues. Not only is X-Men #4 a fun halloween monster-of-the-week, but we get the conclusion to the Shadow King arc of New Mutants and we all agree...it's a perfect example of how amazing comics can be and the stories they can tell. Listen in

"Storm was right about you, Death. You are a charmer." - Betsy Braddock, Excalibur #23
Meat men! Meat men! Meat men! Russian Doll meat men!
X-Force is a VERY serious comic, of course.
X-Force #23-24 by Ben Percy, art by Martin Coccolo
This week we're diving back into the Wacky World of Benjamin Percy with X-Force #23-24! A crossover between Stephen King's Misery and The Magic School Bus, it's quite a fun time. After that we take a look at the rapid-fire Excalibur #24 as we rush towards its end.

"....this is my favorite X-Corp cover. Easily top 3."
