it’s been a while since i’ve posted some updates in my account due to hecticness, i got to perform my first ever return demonstration, and i got 1.00 which is awesome for a first timer like me. i’m actually pretty nervous whenever i thought about the up-coming week since i know it will be very busy and i don’t know, i’ll just maybe get myself through it. 🤷🏼‍♀️

proud of myself for getting up before 8am on a Sunday :) gave me a few hours alone to study before my roommates got up. today is mostly dedicated to going over biological anthropology lectures before my exam tomorrow, but I also have a blog response to do. what’s on your to do list today?

today i made an attempt at my first historical source analysis about the stamp act [30 min]. i made a timeline [45 min] of a play for literature class, in which i had to re-read the transcript.

i went to the first debating meeting of the year. as a senior student i’m in a ‘grade a’ [the highest level] team and the first round is in less than two months. the first topic is “that victoria should abandon the belt and road deal with china”, which sounds interesting. i have no idea what it’s about. luckily, my knowledge of economics will come in handy in this debate.

January study challenge // 05.01.2021 // why did you choose your major? // i actually changed my major two years ago (wow, what a long time ago...) because i wasn't happy with "just" doing chemistry. i have a lot of different interests and it's hard for me to concentrate on one thing alone. i love variation. and so i decided to become a teacher for highschool for the subjects chemistry and spanish. so now i'm learning chemistry, spanish and pedagogy so i get a lot of variation. and i love it every year more! i'm so happy i had the guts to change my major and i would always do it again.

20,000 words of notes and drafting later I have finally conquered my latest essay! I’ve titled it ‘The Transideological Politics of Irony: Disrupting Historiographical Metanarratives in Morrison, Rushdie and Hatoum’, but who knows what I have actually argued at this point :’–)
