As promised @princington I present to you:
A (far too) thorough analysis of KPDH Pokémon assignments (because I can’t help myself) (“illustrated”)
In its own post instead of an ask because I realized this needed to be put under the cut
First: Huntrix
Each of the girls was gifted one of the elemental moneys by Celine to celebrate their debut. Whether they chose the moneys or the monkeys chose them is up for debate.
Rumi - Pansage (for her love of plants and gardening)
Mira - Pansear (for her fiery personality)
Zoey - Panpour (for her ‘go with the flow’ attitude and love of the ocean)
Rumi’s team consists of Pansage, Bewear (for teddy bears and hidden strength), Honedge (for Sword and general Hauntedness), Absol (the other anon had spot on analysis for assigning The Disaster Pokemon to our poor Rumi, the lore of Absol trying to warn people about coming disasters but people thinking it’s causing them, ough), and Morpeko (who has a Literal Dark [Type] side controlled by emotions)(shout out to the other person who also said Morpeko that I saw after deciding this, AND Honedge).
Stufful was her first partner Pokémon growing up as a young girl and Celine certainly had her hands full with the two of them. I also considered giving Rumi a Cubone but that seemed a little on the nose. Ceruledge like that other person said also really fits, though I went Honedge for her swords, and I’d also considered Meloetta but I didn’t want to give anyone any mythicals.
Mira’s team consist of Milotic (I mean they even have the same hair, how can they not? Other anon who said Milotic is so right once again), Granbull (a big softie with a tough exterior), Zangoose (territorial and standoffish), Mawile (feminine but still scary), and Pansear.
Mira’s first Pokemon was her Snubbull that was gifted to her by her parents, since in Pokemon Snubbull is often considered a proper little Pokemon for a young lass. But she actually considers Milotic to be her “partner” Pokemon, since she grew so close to it (it evolves through friendship) after deliberately choosing to raise a Feebas against her parents wishes (such a weak, ugly, little fish is not the proper Pokemon for their daughter). But make no mistake! She still loves Granbull a lot and takes good care of it and spoils it rotten just like the rest of her Pokemon, it’s not neglected at all.
Mira is actually why I started assigning pokeballs to everyone, since the luxury ball works PERFECTLY for her imo. The outward appearance of the expensive ball to show off status but it actually has the effect of raising the friendship of pokemon you catch with it. It fits Mira so well! (Mira friendship evo peeps out here unite, we’re so right)
Other considerations I had for Mira were the Meinfoo line or Medicham for Aesthetic and sense of discipline and Pyroar (F) for Dat Hair and Fiery. The other folks who said Scolipede and Beartic were also so right.
Zoey’s team consists of Drednaw (we need that turtle and it’s her colors babey), Toxtricity (high energy music ‘mon), Chatot (gotta have someone to bounce her lyrics off of while she’s writing) and Panpour.
Yeah she’s got one less Pokémon than the other girls, maybe it’s a maknae thing? (It’s really because I didn’t have a fifth one that resonated as much with Zoey as these four and I didn’t want to just plop one in to fill it out) Her first partner pokemon was her Chewtle and she’s raised it to be quite strong and formidable. Also glad we can all agree Zoey has a Toxtricity.
Zoey's other considerations really consists largely of any Energetic Little Guys with an emphasis on Unova cause, American. Plusle & Minun, Spinda, Blitzle, Scraggy, Joltik, Noibat. The other person who said Hitmontop is also on the right track.
Next: Celine, Bobby and the Sunlight Sisters
Celine’s team consists of Sinistcha, Leafeon, and Ursaluna. Celine’s Sinistcha and Ursaluna are her own, caught and raised from her partner Teddiursa from her Sunlight days. Ursaluna because it’s an ancient Hisuian evolution that fits Celine and her rigid attachment to Tradition. Same for Sinistcha. The Leafeon is actually evolved from Mi-Yeong’s eevee that Celine took in after Mi-Yeong passed.
Giving Mi-Yeong an eevee, something about infinite unknown potential that we’ll never get to see, evolved into Leafeon because it fits Celine. Something about the potential being changed and molded as a memory by those who remain regardless of unknown original intentions, but also, what is a gravestone but a Mossy Rock for a mourning Pokémon to constantly hang around.
Celine and her Pokémon definitely all doted on and took care of Rumi as she grew up. You know that Ursaluna would kill for Rumi. Perhaps that’s where her love of teddy bears and desire to get her own Stufful came from?
Other considerations for Celine were Hisuian Voltorb or Growlithe line (I always wanted to give her a Hisuian evolution but decided to give her one that started normal so it was clear it was her raising that caused the Hisuian evolution) Hisuian Typhlosion (with Cyndaquil as Mi-Yeongs original partner, but it felt too much like assigning Mi-Yeong a Pokemon FOR Celine), giving all the Sunlight Sisters an Oricorio (but I couldn’t decide what form for Mi-Yeong and I couldn’t figure out a good second Pokemon for Third Sunlight), Goomy who would evolve into Hisuian Goodra, Tropius, Deerling line (both just fit Celine’s Vibe), or Kangaskhan (for either Celine or Mi-Yeong but again, felt a little on the nose)
Bobby’s team consists of Audino, Munchlax, and Watchog. A team of assistants to help him out on snack runs, making sure the girls are in tip top shape after practice and before shows, and to keep everyone safe. Nonthreatening group of just good old pals, all here to help however they can.
Other considerations for Bobby were Chansy and Sylveon, same reasons as Audino.
Finally: Saja Boys
Jinu’s team consists of Spiritomb, Zorua, and a… rather derpy Alolan Persian.
A collection of ancient souls, some in anguish, some malicious. A shapechanging mischievous trickster. A big ol fat blue cat (I used a shiny in the image but regular Alolan Persian is still pretty blue too). All dark types for our tragic antagonist. Had to include a reference to Derpy somewhere. I couldn’t fit Sussie in here as Murkrow but I imagine his Zorua is Sussie in this universe. Just imagining a Zorua taking the form of a Murkrow to land on Rumi’s balcony, and when she goes to investigate, shifting to give the Murkrow extra eyes and running off snickering when Rumi freaks.
The other Saja Boys I each only gave one Pokemon to represent them that I feel are all self explanatory. Cute little guys that seem innocent by appearance but are all Dark and/or Poison type, the classic Evil Team types in Pokemon games. Mareanie for Mystery, Pancham for Abby, Impidimp for Baby, Rosalia for Romance.
And on one final note, the person who said Bean would get a Tinkatink is INSPIRED
