I really, really struggle right now. Quit smoking four weeks ago, started a cut two weeks ago. Honestly, I want to run away. Not just romantically take a stroll through Hobbington or Oxford, but physically l e a v e me behind. It might very well be a rather unfortunate accumulation of factors, but damn, I am so fed up with me, everything around me and each and every thought I am thinking right now. So? What to do? No idea, honestly, apart from eating that blasted ice cream sandwich that's been sitting in my freezer for days and watch the umpteenth rewatch of Lewis, Morse or Something Else I know by heart.

it is genuinely infuriating how many people grasp the concept of "there are several different sects of christianity, some of which are conservative and controlling, but others which are more progressive, and you can't treat the whole religion as a monolith", but absolutely cannot wrap their minds around the idea that islam, the second-biggest religion in the world, is also not a monolith.

I have a severe love-hate relationship with the fact that I frequently use poetry in fan fiction where it is obvious that I have to translate said poetry. It isn't getting better when it's one of your most beloved pieces of poetry and you start a vendetta against yourself for presenting yourself with the most inadequate translation.

i have a lot of thoughts on the matter but i will say that fandom moving from semi-private blogs and communities to extremely public and algorithm-driven social media was a huge mistake that has changed fandom culture for the worse
