Caring for a Mental Illness
I have read countless posts on here about how difficult it is to suffer with a mental illness. and many more instructing carers on how to look after sick friends and family. But I have seen so few posts about the carers
I have suffered through depression, anxiety and bulimia. And this happened because by 18 I was caring for four respective friends. One such person I saved from attempted suicide more than once.
I know how to deal with these situations, I in no way need advice. but when you are constantly phoned; messaged; begged and threatened. It takes a heavy toll on you. A heavy sense of responsibility. I was a lifeline.
I am okay now. I am happy, healthy and so are the friends - thanks to their own hard effort, but also, thanks to me (for which I have had no acknowledgment).
Living with a mental illness is horrible, but being the walking stick of someone who is.... I cant describe it. because you are carrying someones hurts and you are also carrying your own and yet are ultimately helpless to fix the former.

Everyone faces their own demons. they tend to have the same names we do.
