I finally worked up the courage to rewatch the S2 finale and I’m just wondering like- how long does it take for the avatar to be reborn? Because if Azula and the rest of the fire nation really thought the avatar was dead shouldn’t they be looking for his reincarnation not celebrating?

Side note: I know that if the avatar is killed in the avatar state the avatar cycle stops and the avatar ceases to exist and stuff but HOW WOULD THE FIRE NATION KNOW THAT WHEN AANG DIDNT EVEN KNOW THAT??? Like I thought that was special Roku information.
