i think whoever invented the spelling of “naur” as the australian pronunciation of “no” is the most influential and important voices of our generation
is the world really such a terrible place? yesterday i asked if oat milk was extra and the barista said yes so i said ok just regular milk then and when she gave me my chai latte she whispered “i used oat milk ;)” doesnt that make u want to live another day?
here is my life philosophy: next week there might be someone ahead of you in line at the store who’s short a quarter and you have a quarter and you can give it to them. if you weren’t there, they’d have to put something back. the week after that you could be getting lunch and the waiter might ask if you want some pancakes someone else ordered and never picked up. you could find someone’s lost cat. you could watch someone’s bag while they go to the restroom. there are so many ways you are going to touch other people’s lives and they are going to touch yours and there’s no way to know when it’s going to happen. so you have to keep living!!! i wouldn’t want to die knowing that tomorrow the barista will give me free oat milk just to be nice.

How is it is supposed to work: your emotions are a response to your situation and surroundings. It is OK to feel the emotion. Now take that emotion and use your logical brain to decide which parts of the emotion fit the facts of the situation and which do not and why, and how you're going to respond to said emotions (which is what tweet said, and what therapists say)
How people seem to interpret it: any emotional reaction is perfectly fine and I am not responsible for what I do out of emotion.
This is how I explained it to my kid and some other people with emotional processing issues.
1. You are entitled to FEEL whatever feelings you have.
2. You are not necessarily entitled to ACT on those feelings. Only to HAVE them.
3. Some feelings are REAL but also UNHEALTHY or UNFAIR. Those feelings exist, but are not justified. Learn to identify these.
For example: I want to bludgeon people who walk all the way to the trolley return then abandon the trolley two feet away to death with a brick. This is UNDERSTANDABLE, as these people are violatinga social obligation out of sheer selfishness, but not ACTIONABLE, as it is an overreaction and also illegal to do.
milf (motivation i’d like to find)
I joke about being mean and evil but then people are Actually just genuinely shitty and I'm like. Doesn't it make you feel bad when you act like that
Just want everyone to know when I say 'evil' I really just mean "villainous and campy like a cartoon antagonist"
Richard Savoie.
Not to be too controversial but i like it when people are nice
psa to all cishets: when a queer person isnt out to you, but you keep noticing them doing and saying Queer Things, they probably arent just “thinking they’re being subtle.” like, they’re probably deliberately testing the waters to see how you react, and then if they start backpedaling and trying to explain it away, you uh. reacted badly.
addition: If a queer person isn’t out to you but you notice them doing and saying Queer Things it could also be that the just don’t care enough about your opinion to have ever come out to you.
Not all of us bother to do so.
What cishets say: I don’t know any gay people. What we hear: No gay person has ever considered me trustworthy enough to come out to me because I emit toxic bigotry fumes.

Grogu getting told off at Jedi school: I don't think my father, the ruler of mandalore, would be happy to hear about this.
