I love seeing this artwork, etc on this site but far too many in this place need to build a personality and get a life. Many of you are way too sensitive and aggressive. I increasingly am coming to the grim conclusion that the vast majority of people, by and large, don't really believe in ideals or moral convictions or consistent standards. They believe "Its okay when we do it", and most everything else is just finding an excuse to tell themselves that this time it's justified or this person or group is a deserving target.
The main difference between the Left and the Right in this respect is that the Left as a whole still cares more about pretending that it has consistent principles, while the Right is increasingly open in its contempt for anything (including reality itself) except for the naked pursuit of power. This is NOT, incidentally, meant as a defence of the Right (as how some have defended Trump with sentiments like "Both sides are just as bad, but at least he's honest about it"). I will generally take a hypocrite over an open monster, because the hypocrite's hypocrisies can be challenged, and their professed ideals held up as a standard to aspire to. That's something to work with.
But this is why, as someone who has chosen to identify myself as a Leftist, I will never cease challenging other Leftists on their hypocrisy- or trying to challenge myself on mine.

In this tweet, and in other similar tweets, and in posts on Tumblr, and at the pro-Palestine protests, and in anti-Israel thinkpieces, we are seeing this kind of antisemitism and hypocrisy from American non-Jewish leftists.
These non-Jewish leftists, who are allegedly against rape and against slavery, are downplaying or outright denying the atrocities faced by Israelis at the hands of Hamas. A lot of non-Jewish "pro-Palestine" leftists at first tried to deny these rapes even happened, despite the horrific videos.
Now that they cannot deny the rapes happened, they instead say "Rape is resistance". This is, in my opinion, even more horrific. They have gone from denying rape to justifying rape.
No one ever deserves to be raped or held in slavery. Except, apparently, if they are Israeli.
And that's what this post is about: pointing out that hypocrisy.

The left is not hypocritical. There are hypocrites on the left. There are also Jewish and Muslim hypocrites, hypocrites on the right, Zionist hypocrites, hypocrites in Hamas. @boreal-sea the "slavery can be justified" is I think a reference to Ansar Allah (the houthi movement) not Hamas. The Houthis literally reintroduced African Slavery to the region of north Yemen they control and a concerning number of white western leftists have jumped to cultural relativism and defense of Islamic slavery as being "gentle and paternalistic" unlike European slavery.
It’s also a reference to the general cheering – which has, fortunately, died down – of the Houthi when they began bombarding random ships in Red Sea transit in the name of supporting Hamas. A lot of people took a tack of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” where the common enemy is Israel, so they were happy to overlook the reality that the Houthi are mass murdering, enslaving, hardline Islamists who aren’t interested in reciprocity of support with anyone in the West.
And this is why I continue to harp on the fact that people need to be educated and not just propagandized and not just going along with the crowd around them. In the name of being “pro-Palestine“ people have not done anything that actually supports the Palestinian people in any tangible or meaningful way, but have done a fantastic job of absorbing and become amplifiers of the rhetoric of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and their bedfellows and proxies, including Hamas.
