I could say I love you as many times as there are stars in the universe and it would still never encompass the way I feel.

loving you is the best thing that has ever happened to my heart
10 Ways to Simplify Life
1. Don’t try to read other peoples’ minds and don’t expect others to be able to read yours. Communicate if it is important to you.
2. Don’t expect to be friends with everyone. We all are different – and we all like different things. Instead, invest your time in a few good friends. That’s all you really need to feel happy and fulfilled.
3. Create a budget and live within your means. Accruing debt will only cause you to feel stressed.
4. Get rid of the monster of jealousy – and only compare yourself with yourself.
5. Organize your clutter and get rid of some stuff. It will leave you feeling calmer, and will save you lots of time!
6. Stay on the sidelines and don’t get drawn into pointless dramas in other peoples’ lives (unless it’s a crisis – and you know you ought to help).
7. Finish what you’ve started - and then do something else.
8. Treat every person you meet with respect, and err on the side of being patient and kind.
9. Accept there are things that you can’t change or control – and focus on those things that you can change or control.
10. Don’t be too proud to apologise. Admit that you were wrong, then say you’re sorry, and move on.
My therapist suggested replacing “is there anything I can do” with “what do you need” when comforting someone as the first kind of assumes you as part of the equation in helping someone which isn’t always helpful. It also kind of pressures the person suffering to kind of come up with something FOR you to do. Like I get so frustrated with that first question as a person who gets it a lot.
The second not only takes the pressure off but also might help the person really consider what their actual needs are like hey I haven’t eaten, maybe that’s a reason I feel crappy. It kinda takes the asker out of the immediate picture so the person struggling can focus on what they actually need, and then if you CAN help, you can offer it.
We’ll see if this works better!

Dear One,
I hope today treats you kindly, and that you seize the day gently. I hope you remember to find the joy in the little things, the things you love and do every day. Even though I know you are hurting I am hoping you remember that pain does not last forever and broken bones grow back stronger if they are given time to heal properly. I hope you realize even though this pain was caused by the external, inside of us this hurt, inside of us we give it meaning and decide how we will face it. I hope you know you are not alone and that caring hearts can be found everywhere if you just reach out your hand. And above all I trust you know I have infinite faith in you, in your capacity to heal and grow stronger, and I hope you have the same faith too.
Sincerely,
e.v.e.
If the person you’re with never changes, will you be happy with them for the rest of your life? Because if they haven’t changed by now, there’s a very good chance they never will. You’ve told them the things they need to work on, you’ve told them what they do that hurts you, you’ve told them how they could fix the problem—probably multiple times—and they’re still actively choosing to not correct that behavior. That is them disrespecting your boundaries and not giving a fuck about how they’re making you feel. Is someone like that really someone you’re comfortable being with? Or have you been settling? I ask you again, if nothing in your relationship were to change, and it were to continue on forever as it has, as it is now, would you be happy with that life, truthfully? With that person? Is that something you can gladly accept? If the answer is no, I urge you to please quit seeing their potential and consider if they truly are the partner for you and if you genuinely see yourself completely satisfied with them based on what they’ve shown you so far. Don’t look at what they could be or what they could do. Look at what they are and what they are doing. Prioritize your contentment; if the voice inside your head is telling you that the person you’re with isn’t right for you, please pay attention to that. Intuition exists for a reason. Don’t stay if you know you’ll probably regret doing so later. You deserve the love you’ve always dreamed of having, and it’s somewhere out there waiting for you. I promise.

ultimately i think kindness is the most radical thing you can do with your pain and your anger. it’s like, you take everything awful that’s ever been done to you, and you throw it back in the world’s teeth, and you say no, fuck you, i’m not going to take this. you say this is unacceptable. you say that shit stops with me.
humans are fucking terrible and this awful world we live in will fucking kill you but if you are kind, if you are brave and clever and try really hard, you can defy it. you can impose on this bleak and monstrous structure something beautiful. even if it’s temporary. even if it doesn’t heal anything inside you that’s been hurt.
i’m gonna sleep and i’m gonna wake up and i swear by everything in this deadly horrible universe i’m gonna make someone happy.
“At this age, everything is changing. Day by day we don’t notice, but just look back over the past year and you will realize everything has. People you thought were going to be there forever aren’t, and people you never imagined you’d be speaking to are now some of your closest friends. Life makes little sense, and the more we grow the less sense it will make. So make the most of it now, before it all changes once again, because in the near future, all of this is only going to be memories.”
