Found on: TikTok
A lot of "daily witchcraft" stuff just boils down to practicing basic mindfulness and self-awareness. That's not a bad thing. Like mysticism aside, yeah your little daily witchcraft practices are certainly going to yield good results if it's making you reflect on your emotions, identify your goals, analyze what food and drink you're putting in your body, ground yourself, and act with intention on a daily basis if you weren't doing it before.
a quick psa to anyone recently getting into greek mythology and is a victim of tumblr and/or tiktok misconceptions:
-there is no shame in being introduced to mytholgy from something like percy jackson, epic the musical or anything like that, but keep in mind that actual myths are going to be VERY different from modern retellings
-the myth of medusa you probably know (her being a victim of poseidon and being cursed by athena) isn't 100% accurate to GREEK mythology (look up ovid)
-there is no version of persephone's abduction in which persephone willingly stays with hades, that's a tumblr invention (look up homeric hymn to demeter)
-as much as i would like it, no, cerberus' name does not mean "spot" (probably a misunderstanding from this wikipedia article)
-zeus isn't the only god who does terrible things to women, your fav male god probably has done the same
-on that note, your fav greek hero has probably done some heinous shit as well
-gods are more complicated than simply being "god of [insert thing]", many titles overlap between gods and some may even change depending on where they were worshipped
-also, apollo and artemis being the gods of the sun and the moon isn't 100% accurate, their main aspects as deities originally were music and the hunt
-titans and gods aren't two wholly different concepts, titan is just the word used to decribe the generation of gods before the olympians
-hector isn't the villain some people make him out to be
-hephaestus WAS married to aphrodite. they divorced. yes, divorce was a thing in ancient greece. hephaestus' wife is aglaia
-ancient greek society didn't have the same concepts of sexuality that we have now, it's incorrect to describe virgin goddesses like artemis and athena as lesbians, BUT it's also not wholly accurate to describe them as aromantic/asexual, it's more complex than that
-you can never fully understand certain myths if you don't understand the societal context in which they were told
-myths have lots and lots of retellings, there isn't one singular "canon", but we can try to distinguish between older and newer versions and bewteen greek and roman versions
-most of what you know about sparta is probably incorrect
-reading/waching retellings is not a substitute to reading the original myths, read the iliad! read the odyssey! i know they may seem intimidating, but they're much more entertaining than you may think
greek mythology is so complex and interesting, don't go into it with preconcieved notions! try to be open to learn!
It's also worth nothing that the Greek World was not a monolith, it was a collection of city-states, each with their own societies and variations on Hellenic culture; Gods and Goddesses had radically different personalities and portfolios from island to island, and even between different cults on the same island. The modern accepted interpretations we see today are synthesized from later writers like Ovid, who were attempting to codify a specific Greek pantheon and culture from the disparate societies around the Aegean.
@comicaurora
yep, just like everything else, greek mythology gets more complicated and less clear-cut the further down you go, but it is extremely worth the dive
Severing Ties Tarot Spread
Spiritual & Occult PDF guides available for download.
When I was a kid I had a book of like, "fun physics experiments for kids". And one of them was an "experiment" where you hold an object by a string and just by focusing on the direction you wanted it to swing, it would start to move in that direction even without your input. The book of course explained that this was the ideomotor effect, a phenomenon where your thoughts can create minute, unconscious movements in your body.
Then a couple years later I got a fortune-telling kit that included a pendulum. You hold the pendulum over a piece of paper that says "yes" and "no" and ask a question, and whichever way the pendulum moves is the answer.
At which point I was like "hey WAIT a minute", and in hindsight I think that experience explains most things about who I am as a person
What tarot card would you say has their shit the most together?

just some reminders for people who have been told these things by the “community” for so long
you don’t have to be gifted your first tarot deck — if you want to learn tarot, just buy yourself a deck you feel called to!
you don’t need to wait until a deity is reaching out to you to work with one, do research and find a deity that suits your personality/needs.
if you’re not an indigenous person, you’re not “smudging” anything. you’re appropriating a culture that’s not yours and using an endangered species ((white sage)) in your practice.
lilith is not a goddess of sexual liberation. she’s a demon. and a jewish one at that, so also not yours to take unless you are jewish.
getting all of your information from “witchtok” probably isn’t the best idea, they like to spread fear mongering information that keeps you stuck there instead of motivating you to do your own research.
you can share you spells and altar online. the idea that people are going to hex you or drain your energy is another tiktok fear mongering tactic. share what you feel comfortable sharing.
SILENCE TRANSPHOBE
SILENCE TRANSPHOBE
ngl this is still one of my best sigils to date and it looks So Right. I dont think I can make a different sigil fo SILENCE TRANSPHOBE and get something as fierce as this. Like this is Cunt. I love this.
It absolutely fucks. I will definitely be using it often.
“Blessed Be” Alternatives
Some people are uncomfortable when you bless them. Here are alternatives you can use so you don’t insult or offend people who don’t want your blessings:
“Good health to you”
“Happiness to you and yours”
“Fair winds”
“Farewell”
“Sweet water and light laughter till we next meet”
“May your journey be swift”
“Well met”
“Until our paths cross again”
“Good fortune to you”
“Pleasant travels”
“May your forge burn bright”
“Until then”
“To your health”
“Guidance and clarity find you”
Feel free to add some you use or enjoy.
Ooh! Tell me, do any of y'all use an alternative to “blessed be”? If so, care to share with me what you use?!
Hey witchy people please explain something to me. This girl I'm talking to rn just said "I want to perform a blood ritual next week but I would need a bit of your hair" and she said "it will let us reincarnate a little closer in our next life" WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN IS THAT A REAL SPELL I don't want her to do it but I also don't want her to like. Hex me or something. What the fuck do I do I'm so serious somebody help me
Hi again everybody, I'll give a little more information since a few people were asking, and maybe it'll help explain the situation better? Idk.
I have known this girl for about 2-3 weeks, give-or-take. I met her at a karaoke bar and we exchanged numbers, started talking and got along pretty well for the most part. She does a lot of witchy stuff like making spell jars that are sealed with different colored wax and that kind of thing. The unfortunate part is that she does actually know where I live, because we went out to dinner a couple days ago (on Friday, today is Monday) and we dropped by my house so I could grab something. I don't know if that interaction was enough to remember where I live or anything, but it makes me uncomfy now. We were talking - in person - about an hour ago? Hour and a half? When she dropped the blood ritual thing on me. It seemed pretty casual, she kind of brushed past it so I don't know if she was serious, but it also didn't seem like she was making a joke.
She has also talked a lot about crystals and their magic(?) properties before, things like quarts and obsidian and stuff. She said if you put crystals under your pillow or your mattress when you sleep then you can use them to help migraines or to have good dreams and stuff. When we went out to dinner she said it might be nice to wear matching pink quarts necklaces if we started to date. I don't know if that's part of a spell or if it's just couple jewelry, so if anyone could tell me about that it'd be appreciated. All in all she seemed pretty normal before, so this was pretty out-of-pocket to me and I don't know how to deal with it exactly. I've had 'crazy'(and I use that term very loosely here) exes before, but I've never had anyone who wanted to cut my hair for a blood oath so that we would reincarnate closer to each other. I also feel a little guilty for assuming she's somehow not right in the head because if this was a joke then I'm being a huge asshole right now
Okay, so it's a massive red flag -- but not because it's magic.
For context, I've been a practicing witch for over twenty-five years. I literally believe in all sorts of what might be considered wacky things by large parts of society.
Could the rose quartz thing be a spell? Yes. Could it be cute matching jewelry? Yes. Would I probably get into a long argument on metaphysics and replacing medicine with unproven unverified personal gnosis? For damn sure.
But -- like -- the reason this is a red flag is because she's talking about doing a spell to reincarnate closer together and you've only known her for 2-3 weeks. Like, it doesn't matter if her spell would work or not, and I'm not one who really even believes in reincarnation per se. But if we suppose that reincarnation is real and that her spell could work -- like let's accept that premise (I've accepted way weirder stuff on a Monday night) -- let's look at the implications.
This person, who is just getting to know you, wants to bind your fates together in future lives. That is... that is an intensity which is not healthy. Like this is a person who hasn't even really dated you saying she wants to spend multiple lifetimes with you. That level of instant attachment only leads to danger -- whether it's just someone infatuated with an inaccurate image of you or... like... worse.
I don't think she has sinister intentions, but I think she does have an unhealthy lack of boundaries and about twenty million red flags that make me yell "RUN!" at the top of my lungs.
The sheer energy. The beauty of this woman. The women hugging in the background. The man in rainbow parachute pants. This whole video is art.
