witchy (and sustainable!) things to do with empty jars
spell jars (— remember that the most important thing you need is the intention, but do try to pay attention to the properties and personal connection of the ingredients as well. when disposing the contents of the jar, make sure that there is no salt in it if you plan on burying the contents — you can search the safety of your jar’s ingredients’ contents (i specifically choose to use ingredients safe to bury).)
make jam — it’s vegan and very fun to make! you can gift your jam jars to your loved ones as well.
make candles — you can reuse old candle wax for this. all you need is a candle wick, some wax (preferably something sustainable or reused), and optionally essential oils (and i like adding cinnamon to my own soy candles sometimes). just make sure that your jar is heat resistant by reading the label provided or by pouring boiling water into it while it is in the sink.
collect/store — you can keep rocks, (legal) bird feathers, herbs, and your bones in jars.
planters — you can plant small succulents in jars
use them for beverages — jars can be a great alternative to plastic cups! you can either prepare the beverage on your own or just take it to a coffee shop. and it has a lid!!
vases — you can put fresh flowers in your jars
use them as lamps — you can put LED lights or fairy lights inside jars
make a pendulum jar — you can do this by adding herbs, salts, or crystals to the bottom and by gluing your pendulum (or any object) from its string to the lid after making sure that the pendulum wants to be in the jar; ask a question and transfer your energy to the jar by putting a finger or two on top of the jar (this is just one method to do so where your connection to the jar is least likely to affect the decision).
use them to store sun/moon/salt/rain water
