When did tarot become just about future spouses and love readings? What happened to the deep, introspective readings that help with self-improvement, personal growth, and valuable life advice? Lately, it seems like 70-80% of tarot readings are focused solely on predicting who your next partner will be or when you'll meet your future spouse.
I get it , it's normal to be curious about your future spouse. In today's world, it's become almost mainstream to seek out these kinds of answers. But here's the thing: before you can build a lasting relationship with someone else, you have to work on yourself. Without doing that inner work, even if you do meet your soulmate, the relationship might not last.
As a tarot reader, Iโve noticed how readings that focus on self-love, personal growth, or practical advice often get overlooked. They donโt receive as much attention or interaction, and they can easily get lost in the flood of love readings. But these readings are crucial because they lay the foundation for a truly fulfilling relationship. Self-love is more important than romantic love, and itโs the key to making any relationship thrive.
Iโm not trying to be harsh, but ask yourself: how do you expect to meet your future spouse if you're not putting in the work on yourself? Watching endless love readings while doing nothing to improve your own life wonโt bring you closer to the relationship you want. In fact, it might even be making your situation worse by keeping you stuck in a cycle of waiting and hoping without taking action.
Please note that the descriptions provided here are general and based on the combination of Sun and Moon signs only. The complete picture of your personality and life experiences is also influenced by the specific house placements and aspects of these planets, as well as other factors in your astrological chart.

Astrology has become depressing for me. I have a lot more "bad" placements than the "good" onss, especially in Vedic chart. And I'm not learnt enough to understand a deeper meaning. Makes me wonder what's the point of my life if its gonna be all misery? Though, I can say for sure that I'm not suicidal. And I'm also seeing quite a few inconsistencies. There are inconsistencies in the way the planets say I think and the way I actually think. I do relate a bit more to my Western chart, and I like it also because it doesn't say that I'm doomed, just because. I've decided to let go of vedic astrology (even though its a part of my culture) and just live my life, enjoy what I can.

PLANETS: part I - The Personal/Inner Planets [Sun-Mars]
โ In astrology, there are 10 celestial bodies commonly considered "planets": Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune & Pluto
โ Planets act like the roles a character [see the 12 zodiac signs] interpret in a movie, and each of them represents specific characteristics, that will eventually adapt to the zodiac sign they occupy
โฏ The Sun & Moon are called "LUMINARIES", as they're the brightest ones, they define the fundamental traits of a chart/personality and all the chart moves around them.
โ Planets are divided in 3 categories: PERSONAL, SOCIAL & GENERATIONAL
โฏ Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, & Mars are called PERSONAL/INNER PLANETS and they are the most important in a chart as they are the fastest moving ones in the sky and can change more rapidly than Generational/Outer ones. They are the roots of one's personality, the core of each individual.
โฏ Saturn & Jupiter are the SOCIAL PLANETS as their orbit is neither slow or fast and are intermediaries between personal and generational, they represent both individual and social themes, such as morals, values ethics and ideals, as well as society structure and boundaries.
โฏ Uranus, Neptune & Pluto are the GENERATIONAL/OUTER/SPIRITUAL PLANETS and can be considered as secondary to the Personal Planets due to being way slower and can take years to change from sign to sign, indicating characteristics of entire generations/that apply on a larger scale.

don't worry Lili, I'm ready as hell and I'll make sure to clear the most as I can while I'm alive fs.
There's too much shit going around Tumblr/Tiktok and my eyes be rolling too much lately as I've started seeing clients [in parents/relatives studios, where I currently practice] coming here absolutely terrified or convinced about the most absurd things just because they heard it somewhere online by - obviously - people who never opened a single astrology book in their lives. And as I view things, astrology isn't meant to do this at all. I'm at a point when I'm just mad.
To be blunt: I think people are more in love with the idea of Astrology than they are with genuinely learning it.
There are "observations" here on Tumblr that make NO sense whatsoever.
There was a post here on Tumblr about Eris, which moves slower than Pluto. And the person who made the post went through all 12 signs of the zodiac being in Eris...DESPITE THE FACT THAT NO ONE ALIVE TODAY HAS ERIS IN ANY SIGN EXCEPT ARIES!!
Or the fact that people think asteroids are more powerful than planets or that asteroid overlays are relevant. NO, they're not. There are tens of thousands of asteroids, it is NOT possible to feel every single one.
Hence the importance of understanding why aspects are much more important and why orbs of those aspects are so vital.
But do people listen? No. They want to make posts about "(Insert asteroid) overlays in the houses".
Astrology on Tumblr, Twitter, and TikTok has turned into people pulling things out of their ass. And it makes being in this community so insufferable because no one knows what the fuck they're talking about. And those of us who have been studying charts for years, come from families of Astrologers, went to Astrology schools, took intensive courses, etc. have to deal with it.
Not only people love the idea of astrology rather than learning, but they also despise those who "clear off the lies they feed themselves with". This concept is quite hard to explain but there's this common idea I noticed around that astrology has to always be "beautiful/comfortable" and never point out problems (happens even more with synastry/composite).
This way of thinking is hugely problematic for me as there's no growth without conscience about what's right and what's not, you can't do better if you don't know what's wrong in the first place, so keeping this "safe place" all the time is really counterproductive, astrology - as I mean it and as I was taught by my family & teachers - has to be a self-improvement/discovery tool as well as a tool to understand the world and its events, and there's no world without problems/flaws, there's no world without changes. This "comfort based" philosophy is incredibly toxic because it makes people think that there will never be problems, never be changes, never be possible unpleasant events... That's not the real world, that's not realistic.
You have no clue how many clients I've seen over the years at my parents/relatives studios coming here only to hear the beautiful things like "you're a determined/strong/hard-working person" and then starting to get all irritated when problems/flaws would've come out as well.
They want to hear, but at the same time they don't want to hear everything. Only what's comfortable and what's safe/falsely empowering for them to believe.
I live by the first principle my grandma [an astrologer with 30 years of experience now] taught me: "When reading, tell the truth, no matter how uncomfortable it may be for people. You're not there to please their ego nor feed them lies. Astrology isn't this."
ON ASTEROIDS: I personally think they're becoming a major issue in the community [don't get me wrong: I use them, they can be very useful and insightful, as well as incredibly interesting material to study], but:
They don't matter if you just can't read a simple birth chart in the first place, it's like trying to swim without water. And I saw so many people do this mistake...
They're not all valid (as you said as well), and I think a large amount of them are actually useless and quite meaningless (this is a personal take which may be controversial)
They are not planets. Even the most relevant ones are not as relevant as the power of planets, they're just additional and totally optional resources, nothing more. A chart without asteroids tells the story quite the same way as it does with some asteroids, maybe with a few details less, but still does.
I remember a case I had of a client 6 months ago coming to me, saying she had like 15 different asteroids which (accordingly to someone online) indicated "Intelligence", complaining she wasn't good at math. I still remember spending 20 whole minutes lecturing her on real astrology and how it works + how she didn't actually have to be good at math to be classified as "intelligent".
AND don't even get me started on the whole "Fame/Future Spouse/Money/Marriage/Kids" hype and the incredibly terrifying theories I've read which made no sense at all.
These may be some hard pills to swallow and people may want to burn me at the stake after saying them, but unfortunately that's reality:
Not everyone has potential for fame [yes, people are gonna kill me for saying this]
Not everyone has great talents [but of course each individual has his/her/their own unique abilities and potential that are incredible as well]
Not everyone has the potential for becoming a billionaire [yes, I already see the stake where I'm gonna get burned]
Not everyone wants to marry
Not everyone gets married
Divorces exist and not all marriages work
Not all relationships work as well as not all synastries/composite charts have potential for an actual romantic relationship
Nobody has his/her/their "future" set in stone, everything can change anytime and no astrologer can actually predict things perfectly and in extreme detail.
Not everyone has kids or wants to be a parent
Future spouse is a very multifaceted subject that joins so many components, no placement alone like a random "7H Jupiter" can tell the whole story about it. It takes more planets, houses, placements, persona charts, transits, solar/lunar returns, profection years and I could go on for hours about it.
ON "OBSERVATIONS": you're right. Pulling things out of their asses is a trend nowadays. Most of these are just biased opinions or clickbait stuff made to induce panic - as hell - , last one I saw was that "Scorpio men make the most loving and adorable partners" then proceding to write "all Taurus Risings are assholes and once you break their heart they'll destroy you" and I was like "wtf did I just read ๐ณ๐ณ".
The problematic thing is that people who know nothing about astrology or beginners have no clue about anything these people talk about and they end up believing it. The difficult part is trying to convince them about the real story once they're brainwashed by all that they heard...
Okay, oh my god, I was thinking about just a few days ago about how there must be people who understand that people on astrology social media, mostly, are not as reliable.
You're so right about the 10 points. They are definitely truths people don't want to acknowledge.
Also, what gets me is the observations or people's extremely biased view of certain placements. It just ticks me off anytime I end up reading about how a certain placement is 'so evil, they're gonna experience the depths of hell', I mean- WHAT? And then they say, it's just my observation, don't get offended, I mean, you're talking about an ancient tool that was based on observations but the observations weren't solely based on a few people's experience with others, otherwise astrology is as much pseudoscience as people accuse it to be. If we can't bring out or evoke objectiveness in our observations, then there's no use of astrology at all. If your personal feelings override the ancient book or words written by experienced professional astrologers, and if you overlook the facts/characteristics in people who don't fit your idea of a placement, then you're not an astrologer.
Astrology space is very biased on tumblr. I sometimes feel people come here to rant out about thier experiences instead of the actual art.
Is it something with the 12th house/Pisces placements that you end up letting go all your difficult times? They existed but now that they're gone, you're fine. It's almost like nothing affects you long term....?
Something that I see and hear way too often, mostly on here and when talking to people that donโt really understand astrology in real life, is people seeing their chart, exploring it, and then starting to actย โmoreโ like it, describe themselves according to their chart, or only just getting way too worked up over it. Stop. Youโre not a chart. Youโre a human.
Your chart is not supposed to be a guide for you telling you how to act, itโs not some sort of magical enlightment after whichโs discovery your life will magically truly begin because you found out who you are and what youโre supposed to do. Itโs easy to do, humans yearn for something that gives them direction. That can be the government, laws, their friends, families, institutions, it can come from within (meaning you built yourself your own structures and rules. Some of which are called morals. Thatโs besides the point, though) or from outside, and astrology is all to easy to use for this because it literally tells youย โhey, look at this. this is you.โ but thatโs not what youโre supposed to do with it. Iโm going to quote @astrologymarina here because she put it really nicely:
โTrying to play out your birth chart is not being yourself. Exaggerating all the traits associated with your placements is not authenticity. Donโt worry about becoming your chart, because you canโt not be it.โ
ESPECIALLY as humans, we really tend to, at times (or really, all of the time, just to different measures), put a selective lense over our perception - we donโt see everything at once with complete objectivity, ever, not even our actual bodily sight works like this. When looking at your chart, you will always find one or multiple things that catch your eyes most - maybe because, at the time, this part is a big theme in your life, or maybe because it seems exceptionally fitting, or especially foreign. It really doesnโt matter. The point is that, with your selective perception, you will start to decide on (and will see this deciding as โfindingโ) โfocal pointsโ in your chart - something that not actually exists as your chart is just an objective screenshot of the firmament at the time of your birth. This is one reason why many astrologers donโtย โbelieveโ in dominants - it creates the illusion of aย โfocal pointโ in your chart that takes the wheel and drives around the globe with all the other planets, signs, placements, and aspects in the backseat.
Back to the topic: With this selective perception, youโre bound to be tempted to over-identify and work yourself up over something. Very typical examples for this are the sun, moon, dominants, and on another, smaller level lilith and chiron. @venusian5 talked about this earlier, but people tend to get overly fatalistic over lilith and chiron because they donโt represent something (conventionally)ย โgoodโ in your chart (you can read the rest of what he said here). The sun and moon are other common parts for this due to the emphasis many astrologers put on them.
Especially people who donโt have a good grasp on themselves and are rather unaware of themselves are prone to over-identify with their chart. Itโs easy, itโs comfortable. You have something telling you who you are and how to be, no need to figure it out yourself anymore, right? Itโs natural to not be self-aware to some extent and to wish for it to be that easy, but you shouldnโt use astrology to escape the need for self-reflection and self-growth.ย
Donโt use your selective view of your chart to over-identify with some parts. Youโre all of them - if you donโt identify with some, you either a) havenโt grown into them yet, b) have already transcended them (though in these two cases, you can still always see โtracesโ of them), c) donโt understand them properly, d) ignore other parts that influence this one, or e) simply deny this part. This is not supposed to be a call-out, weโve all been there at some point. The thing is you shouldnโt stay there because itโs comfortable. Astrology is not designed to be comfortable. Modern western astrology likes to romanticize (and fatalise) lots of placements, but thatโs not the way to go.ย
Astrology is supposed to enhance your life, not limit it even more by having you limit yourself to what you think your chart tells you.ย
I think itโs very important to not stress about compatibility too much either. Meet and get to know people without trying to guess their placements or getting their birth data. Having expectations of what people will be like - positive or negative - gets in the way of actually getting to know them. It turns on your selective focus and you could start idealizing a bad person or dismissing a good person. Our charts donโt actually show whether we are good or bad people, they only show potentials but not whether they are used constructively or destructively. Look for good people, not compatible people. Good is always compatible with good, and bad is always incompatible with good, so donโt worry about the signs.
On the topic of being obsessed with introspection andย โself discoveryโ, i recently read something by Viktor Frankl which I feel fits the whole following of astrology/mbti/personal discovery etc very well. He said that, because life has become void of meaning for many, because there is anย โexistential vacuumโ, we compensate byย โpsycho-analyzingโ ourselves, sharing our psychological problems and insights with others, discussing them, etc (and he predicted this development in the 40s!). An existential vacuum leads to an obsession with the own psyche that can be the cause of neuroses and its pseudo-therapy. Self-reflection can in itself be the root of many problems. I had a talk with someone about how phases of self-reflection and lots of journaling are often the least mentally stable and happy ones. When we feel good, we do not feel the need to conduct some sort of self-therapy. Viktor Frankl also came up with the concept of using a paradoxical intention for healing neuroses. A patient with insomnia, for example, cannot sleep because they so rigidly and obsessively try to sleep, which hinders them from relaxing into an unconscious state. So a paradoxical intention would beย โfor a change, why donโt you try to not sleep tonight, and just relax and think about something nice?โ - which then makes them fall asleep quickly.ย Maybe by setting the paradoxical intentionย โi will not try to figure myself out and heal myselfโ many of the problems which were simply rooted in obsessing over yourself will take care of themselves.
Crow is the animal associated with krittika , pushya , hasta , jyestha , dhanistha
Crows are associated with being the vahan of shani dev , they are a connecting link between the human world and The spirit world , it is believed that our ancestors come in the form of crows to get food and offer us blessings , it is also believed that the caretaker of the crow will achieve blessings from all gods and reach salvation after death
Mythology and lore :
The black crow, also known as a raven in some regions is said to possess clairvoyance by which he can see different worlds,is the tale of KakBhushundi, mentioned in Tulasiโ Dasโs epic poem โRamacharitamanasโ. Bhusundi who was an ardent devotee of Ram had no respect or devotion for any representation God other than Lord Ram. His guru sage Lomas tried to correct this attitude by teaching him to develop devotion for nirguna brahman or the formless aspect of God. But Bhusundi ignored his guruโs teachings and kept on worshipping Ram as the Ultimate Truth. In a fit of anger Sage Lomasha cursed Bhusundi to become a crow because of his repeated rejection and arguments against the sageโs guidance and advice. When Lord Ram intervened on behalf of Bhusundi, Sage Lomas relented and recalled Basundi who was now in the form of a crow as โKakBhushundiโ or Bhusundi the crow and taught him Ramcharitmanas, stories about Ramaโs spiritual journey. Thus KakBhusundi in the form of a crow became the ultimate narrator of the events in the life of Lord Rama. He was also blessed with the ability to travel through time and recreate the story of Lord Rama.
He witnessed a cosmic vision in Rama's mouth, observing millions of suns and moons within, and a vision of the sage himself in Ayodhya within each celestial object. He resided within each of these realms for centuries, and returned from Rama's mouth to find himself return to the same moment in time as he had left. Bewildered, he begged for Rama's salvation, and was promptly blessed with the same. He chose to forever remain in the form of a crow as he had been blessed by his favoured deity in that form.
during the shraddha ceremony or oblation offered to ancestors, a ball of cooked rice ( pind) is offered to the dead ancestor. If crows eat ( touch/peck) it, then it is assumed that the dead ancestorโs soul has been released from his or her bindings with the physical body and has embarked on the continuation of the soulโs journey to the next level of existence. In this rite, crows touching the rice ball is considered auspicious and is also seen as a good omen.they are of particular interest in Tantric narratives and Tantric rituals. In the general Hindu context, the crow is often stereotyped as inauspicious and its role limited to that of vฤhana (vehicle of a deity). Conversely, in Tantric ritual manuals, the crowโs sphere of influence is based on a broader concept. Such scriptures imply ominous and โdarkโ aspects of agency in crows, but they do so in a strikingly different way than Hindu classic mythology. Tantra emphasise an ambivalent potential in crows as beneficial to certain rituals and occasionally incorporate a โcrow potencyโ in ritual instructions.
They are the very powerful healers who are able to locate the shadows that create distress for people and bring blind dark spots to awareness in people so healing can ensue. Spending long periods in the dark gives one this Siddhi.Shuni Kah is the Crow of the Dark Moon who has access to the never regions. He is the one in us to bring the eye to the underground sediment that toxifies our lives. If this unresolved sediment it is left in the unseen world there is no healing.Shuni Kah the Crow and gatekeeper to the world of dreams is the grand healer. Just singing his name is a powerful mantra that causes us to see in the dark.
The entrance to Shuni is through the femminine. His Mother is Chaya, the Shadow Woman, and his father is Surya, the Sun. His Mother was not able to realise her power beside her Husband, the sun, for his glow burned and make her feel overwhelmed and insignificant and so she fled leaving behind her shadow. This signifies how the Feminine is brought into insignificance when the Solar or active force is ruled over her.Having left her Shadow with her husband, Shuniโs mother whilst still pregnant performed prayers and yogic austerity to Shiva under intense heat. Her effort was so great and the heat generated became so hot that her child, Shuni, was burned black. This signifies how heat and tapasya (yogic purifying Fire of austerity) reveals the darkness within the unconscious recesses of oneโs being. When Shuni was born and seen in his blackness, his father was shocked at how dark he was refused to recognise him as his child, accusing his wife of being unfaithful. He raged greatly and insulted his wife. Seeing his Mother thus insulted raised Shuniโs wrath. Thus Shuniโs gazes is ever down in the underworld and arouses suffering. He Rides on the Crow and his wife rides on the Swan. One is the bird of the underworld and the other is the bird of the Celestial spheres
The completion of Tantrais known as the Kiss of Crow & Swan. The meeting of opposites. She rides a chariot pulled by crows and has a flag with crow emblem (Kak Dwhajini). She has a voice of howling jackals. Dhumavati
In Celtic mythology, the warrior goddess known as the Morrighan often appears in the form of a crow or raven or is seen accompanied by a group of them. Typically, these birds appear in groups of three, and they are seen as a sign that the Morrighan is watchingโor possibly getting ready to pay someone a visit.
In some tales of the Welsh myth cycle, the Mabinogion, the raven is a harbinger of death. Witches and sorcerers were believed to have the ability to transform themselves into ravens and fly away, thus enabling them to evade capture.Odin is often represented by the ravenโusually a pair of them. Early artwork depicts him as being accompanied by two black birds, who are described in the Eddas as Huginn and Munnin. Their names translate to โthoughtโ and โmemory,โ and their job is to serve as Odinโs spies, bringing him news each night from the land of men. For the ancient Greeks, the crow was a symbol of Apollo in his role as god of prophecy. Auguryโdivination using birdsโwas popular among both the Greeks and the Romans, and augurs interpreted messages based on not only the color of a bird but the direction from which it flew. A crow flying in from the east or south was considered favorable.Genesis tells us that after the flood waters receded, the raven was the first bird Noah sent out from the ark to find land. Also, in the Hebrew Talmud, ravens are credited with teaching mankind how to deal with death; when Cain slew Abel, a raven showed Adam and Eve how to bury the body, because they had never done so before.Philo of Alexandria (first century AD), who interpreted the Bible allegorically, stated that Noah's raven was a symbol of vice, whereas the dove was a symbol of virtue (Questions and Answers on Genesis 2:38)In the Story of Bhusunda, a chapter of the Yoga Vasistha, a very old sage in the form of a crow, Bhusunda, recalls a succession of epochs in the earth's history, as described in Hindu cosmology. He survived several destructions, living on a wish-fulfilling tree on Mount Meru.[24]
The Lesser Key of Solomon: Goetia, The Book of Evil SpiritsStolas, the 36th demon in the pantheon, will first appear as a raven when summoned. Once he becomes a man, he teaches the arts and astronomy, as well as the properties of precious stones and the healing properties of herbs. Malphas, the 39th demon, appears as a crow and wonโt change form until ordered. In his human form, he can build homes and fortifications and can give his summoner a familiar
Raven overheard the old man talking to himself about a box he possessed. The box contained a series of ever-smaller boxes, and inside the smallest box was all the light in the worldโwhich Raven decided to steal. There seemed to be no door into the house, so Raven waited until the manโs daughter went to a nearby stream, then changed himself into a hemlock needle in the water, which the girl drank. Raven changed himself into a baby once he was inside her, and once he was born (an odd-looking half-bird, half-boy creature whose true nature was hidden by the darkness), he demanded to be allowed to play with the boxes. One by one, Raven demanded the first box, then the second, and so on. Finally, he convinced his grandfather to open the innermost box and let him play with the ball that was the light. As soon as Raven had the light, he took off with it gripped in his beak. The light spilled from the ball and over the world, but it wasnโt long before Eagle gave chase. As Raven fled, pieces of the light fell to the ground and shattered, bouncing back into the sky to create the Moon and the stars. Other pieces of the light slowly fell as Raven made his way around the world, which is why the light travels across the sky the way it does.Theories suggest that the three legs represent the three ancient clans of Japan or the three virtues of valor, benevolence, and wisdom. Some suggest that the three stands for mankind, heaven, and Earth. Regardless of why Yatagarasu has three legs, heโs seen as symbolic of the navigator, physical and spiritual, and heโs even been adopted by the Japanese soccer association in the hopes that heโll help navigate the ball into the goal. Heโs also closely associated with Kumano, the birthplace of the founder of the sport in Japan

Krittika nakshatra
Krittika is a churner of perfection under the fire of Surya that gave birth to Shani through his mother chaya the first conception of the birth of a crow comes through while Shani is associated with crows , the struggles of not being seen enough is associated here , the outcast themes come through. Along with that the perfection theme while a crow collects the most beautiful stuff to keep in it's nest , it knows what's valuable like krittika sees the value in things , they know what they want and they attempt to take it . Here this relates to the story of yatagarasu believed to be an incarnation of the sun in Shinto mythology. This also associates with Apollo being the god of prophecy and taking the form of a crow , shows that where there exists light ( Surya ) there Exists chaya , they aren't on a scale of horizontal extremes but the flip sides of a coin, one cannot exist without the other , in krittika lies the light so lies the dark , lies the beauty of creation so lies the pain of change .
