I literally typed an entire thing then deleted it, but basically:

Jax isn't real, so what pronouns fans refer to him as has no impact on the real world. Using she/her pronouns for them/Leeroy is not harmful, because again, this isnt about a real person. But if it was, and I was in Jax's shoes, I would want people to still use he/him pronouns when referring to me.

I had people use they/them for me to other people before I was out publicly. I was still figuring out myself what I wanted to be referred as. While the intentions were good, it outed me to people i wasn't ready to come out to yet, and led to me being less open about my feelings and gender identity. I feel like Jax is where I was then, so I'm going to continue to use he/him pronouns for him. He may be trans, or genderfluid, or a cis guy who likes to crossdress, but its not our place to attach labels to him while he's still figuring out who he is.
