"Huh, so the land of glitz n' glamor caught your eye too? Here I thought you were just a bigger fan for 'reserved areas.' " It was a modest but harmless shot in how their rampant beginnings started out, but all the same, it's a curious case (yet welcomed) to see who was almost a foe once upon a time. Penacony's atmosphere still held it's ethereal quality, how emotion rains richly in just about every facet, almost too good. "Either you had an invite or you literally just got front door clearance. Which, I gotta say I'm too damn jealous--" He mentions with a soft snort, yet a smile holds true on his face. "I had to do a round of sweet talking."

The Land of Festivities had been on the IPC's radar for several decades . . . even before Topaz was even a thought in her parent's mind ; given her missteps in Belobog & Jarilo-VI , she saw this as a perfect opportunity to regain some of her standing within the company .

What she had not accounted for , was the attendance of a particular trailblazer with whom she had history with in the past . . . from that aforementioned misstep , ❝ If I told you , I'd certainly have to tax you afterwards . ❞ she would in turn throw a playful shot back at the other , a smile crossing on her face ; despite the unprecedented wrench this threw in her plans . . . Topaz had to admit that it was nice to see a friendly face again .

Of course , the matter of reason she was here in the first place might not be something dear Caleus would like to hear . . . but it was certainly better to be honest , ❝ I'm here on business , actually . ❞ now when it came to the nitty gritty details ? It probably would be best to keep those cards close to her chest , but perhaps that comment was enough to satiate the trailblazer's curiosity .

❝ So , where's the rest of the train gang ? ❞ she glanced around , not seeing the other members of the Astral Express anywhere in the near vicinity .

"Topaz? A word."

It had taken around two system hours for the party to properly pick up. All guests were present in tailored pompous outfits befitting of their grade, it was fascinating to witness such disparity commune together under the guise of celebration. The Strategic Investment Department filled the ballroom in idle chatter and couples dancing freely between the cacophony of everything. Perfection.

Aventurine loved parties like this. It was easy to be forgotten, he could just be one in the crowd and for very brief moments he could drown out the whispers against his character whenever eyes glanced over. It wasn't new that despite Diamond's approach to support new expat blood, there was still a lot of prejudice from those within.

"Barrie certainly had a lot to say. I'm surprised you didn't pull Numby on him." The good thing about their team is that at least he's not alone on the sentiment, it was nice to have someone who knew. Someone who understands.Someone he can use to further ignore everything.

"How about I save you." Topaz was looking too good to just be a wallflower tonight. It would be a crime if she were to just stay rooted on the sidelines with the meddling with those who coveted their spot. He offers his hand.

"Shall we?"

The Interastral Peace Corporation was known just as much for their lavish bravado and celebration as they were for being ruthless when it came to debts and other finances . . . and tonight ? It had been the privilege of the Strategic Investment Department to receive some well deserved flowers of their own .

It was here under the shimmering display of high class , that Topaz could be found . . . her form fitting , tantalizing red dress vibrantly and selfishly hogged all the attention of any adorning eyes that may been looking onward . The Senior Debt Manager could be seen talking with Barrie . . . who truthfully , Topaz wasn't quite sure where in their department he worked . . . all she knew was that he liked to ramble , but ! It was by the table adorned with bottles of champagne and glasses to match ; she couldn't help but indulge just a little .

Of course , in a manner that she had grown all to accustomed to . . . familiar head of blonde hair would slither up from behind her , a beaming expression coating his facial features , ❝ What if I said that he wasn't the first rambler I had met tonight ? ❞ she would chuckle , a smile upon her face . . . silver eyes taking a greedy moment to admire Aventurine's get up for the night , even though she had already seen it the hour prior from the comfort of their apartment .

❝ And what makes you think I need saving ? ❞ the debt manager proved coy , much like her partner . . . taking the other's hand without a shred of hesitation to be found ; like that , the daring couple were crossing the ballroom . . . Topaz's dazzling heels clicking across the hardwood floor to a destination of Aventurine's choosing . . . and unbeknownst to her .

1.) What made you pick up this character ?

Have you seen Topaz ? Hubba hubba AWOOGA

In all seriousness though , I really liked Topaz's design and the concept behind the character ; I also couldn't help but notice that she was horribly underloved in most everything fandom wise (especially in the rp space) and I wanted to right that wrong as best as I could ! So here we are and with this blog lol .

I think there are some cool and compelling stories that can be told with Topaz , especially when it comes to some of my headcanons about her past and more specifically her relationship with Aventurine . . . that's that good shit right there .

20 .) If you could sum up your character with one sentence, what would it be ?

Trying to be a relatively good person while in a position that doesn't allow for people to be good .

21.) Which song do you feel describes your character the most and why ?

This one is INCREDIBLY difficult to answer because I have so many amazing songs in my playlists that its hard to choose one to represent Topaz .

I'd definitely have to give it more thought , but this does remind me to get back to compile a playlist for her . . . so maybe I can't settle one song but a playlist will suffice ? Keep an eye out for that !
