I don't just want to lay under my weighted blanket. I want to be squeezed from all sides. Not hugged. But a wrapped around pressure from all sides over my entire body. Like in The Jungle Book when Kaa, the snake, wraps himself around Mogli to hypnotize him. I want that. But alas, my weighted blanket will have to do.

Neurotypical people are always so happy when they can do the bare minimum to accommodate a neurodivergent person.

Fuck neurotypical people who suddenly, randomly change long put in place system, routines and then act like you arguing when you question it. 🙄 Like no, we're adults. Have an adult coversation with me and explain why and what you want to be done instead. I'm not a mind reader.

As an autistic person I struggle with the process of making friends in the sense that, I never know how or when to bridge the gap between “acquaintances” and “friends” and just kinda get stuck there

There is so much wrong with the autism assessments they use, but one factor I think about often is "Would your friends describe you as funny?"

Just so everyone knows, an autistic person genuinely liking things you deem childish is not in fact ‘infantilizing autism.’ Some people just like that stuff, and autistic people are more likely to have ‘unusual’ interest per the literal diagnostic criteria. Let people live their life.

The funniest thing about learning I'm autistic is that I work at a assitant in a Special Education classroom and knowing the teacher clocked it long before I did.

I'm like "you could have told me!" But she just out here giving me little accommodations I didn't know I needed to make my work day better. And I love her for it.

I love how all the Autism Test just assume I'm talking and conversing with people. Like socialize? What's that? They really like "When you talk to people... Do people tell you... " Honey, I don't talk to people. I avoid them like the plague. Socializing is so hard, and I don't really understand it. I feel too awkward, so i avoid it. Like I don't know what to say. That's the problem. I usually just end up watching and then feeling left out.

And then they like "Do you mimic and copy people.?...." is that what I'm supposed to be doing to learn? 😭 no one told me.
