The surprise leads to a confusion and the words that had been building since the last time she saw the other threatened to fall from her lips. But instead, a soft scoff falls from her lips in disbelief. “Now you want to come in?” The smile, the relaxed posture of the woman in front of her, the way her scent was mingled with the bitter smell of alcohol caused Maya to wonder what exactly the other was doing here. Still, it didn't stop her from stepping aside and opening the door enough for Mina to have the space to breeze past her, already feeling the heated weakness creeping up her cheeks and wished they could simply trade places and she could be the one relishing in the chilly air of the late night's sky. With a slight huff, she shut the apartment door and turned, facing her ex once more. "Seriously, Mina, why are you here?"
she steps into the apartment like she has many times before, taking in the familiar surroundings and anything else that has changed since they last saw each other — literally and metaphorically. ❛ i was in town. practically down the street, ❜ mina exaggerates. but to her defense, she and the rest of sofia were playing no more than twenty minutes away from maya's home. ❛ why was i actually a little bummed not seeing you at my show ? ❜ she chuckles bitterly. the alcohol makes her head buzz and tone playful, but she needs it to numb the nerves and feel confident enough to even be here. then, green hues catch sight of the large and very familiar t-shirt on the other's body and mina can't stop the smirk that forms on her lips. ❛ is that my shirt ? ❜
a wlw age gap plot where the blunt, older lesbian owns a vintage movie store. because it gets busy, she has some college student working for her during the summer. there's a lot of tension at first (because the owner has high expectations that can't always be met) but it ends up being the student's gay awakening.
"headshot?" they almost laughed out, brows furrowing a little as the glanced down at themselves and then over their shoulder. it wasn't like they were justin bieber or anything, but usually someone in a room recognized them. however, being on set... everyone had some sort of fame. "yeah, i was looking for this hot chick i saw at my show last night and was hoping if i could take her out to lunch. this is her business card," they gestured to the card on her desk, tilting their head. the comment was half-sarcastic, though they started to realize that they seemed like a stalker and would probably get escorted out by security if they couldn't convince her to go out with them.

dirtied knuckles rap discordantly against glass, about as graceful in their fumbled attempt to shove the now - jammed window back into place as they were in the entirety of their haphazardly planned journey here. “ you need to oil your hinges, sliders, whatever they're called. write that down in your little planner. ” now, they don't know that chanelle has a planner, their focus consistently drifting during their last handful of encounters. it's an easy enough assumption to make, though. “ yes. yes, we do have a meeting. god, i can't believe you forgot. how are we ever going to get this project done ? seriously. ” high - tops splashed with faded grey dirty the floor, muddy tracks in their wake as chiara moves to the far side of the room, narrowed gaze never quite leaving the window even as they sink slowly into the plushness of the bed. thumb worries at bottom lip, slightly swollen and split across the median, nail pressing into the fresh wound. “ ... will you be joining me over here anytime tonight ? ”
lips are parted in an expression of surprise and amusement as chanelle's eyes track her project partner's movements across her bedroom. it takes a moment for her to register what exactly is happening. ❛ riiiight, ❜ the brunette draws out the word as she stands up to join the other on the bed. she gently settles on the mattress a healthy couple feet away before clearing her throat. ❛ so you're either hiding from someone, ❜ femme begins slowly, ❛ or you must like me a lot. and i don't think it's the latter. ❜ chanelle isn't dumb. by the way chiara's gaze fixates on the window she just snuck through, she's sure there's something out there she's running from. ❛ care to explain before i yell at you for tracking mud all over my floor ? ❜

it never happened like it happened that night. murphy was normally the one being sought after .... but when they locked eyes with her in the crowd, it was a whole new feeling. what the fuck. after the show, they had practically run out from behind the barricade to chase after the duo but the only thing they found was a business card. which must've been fate! like some sort of fucked up version of cinderella. so they showed up at the place of employment the next day, ignoring the wide eyes of recognition as they were led to where she was. "hey," they muttered, holding up a rain-stained business card. "i think you dropped this."
they look familiar. but that could mean anything in this line of business, so jessina doesn't think much of it as she takes the dirty business card and tosses it onto her desk. ❛ we're not casting anything right now, but feel free to drop your headshot in the basket and we'll get back to you if something comes up. ❜ a repetitive line often used for wannabe actors / models / talent / the like who come shuffling through the office doors, bright - eyed and wide - smiled and hopeful for something more than just empty words. and jess goes right back to shuffling through her papers, expecting the other to head out the door like the rest of them, but she cocks a brow when they don't. ❛ is there something else i can help you with ? ❜

they have got to stop meeting like this ! and by this . . . yubin means the completely planned arrangement where they'd purposely be around one another at a friend's house once more. a few people simply hanging out, getting high, a table full of snacks all displayed out in front of them. the hound leans back into the couch, legs spread and taking almost too much room up. crooked grin, reveals chipped tooth, cracks across their features. "what's got you so happy?" lifts brows at the girl in front of her. her ex girlfriend and not by yubin's choice yet not fully daisy's either. the secret third party to their mix . . . the jealous beast living inside of daisy. "or should i ask who?" just maybe it lived in bugs too.
knees touch, blood rushes, and there's a crackling electricity in the air that wasn't there before their last night spent together. the fuzziness in daisy's brain has since subsided, but now what's left behind is a desire for more. it's a different kind of yearning that may or may not have changed their relationship forever. ❛ can't a girl just be in a good mood ? ❜ in contrast to bugs' stance, daisy crosses long slender legs and brushes aside her hair. the brunette tresses move to reveal two bite marks on her neck —- not too noticeable but still there in its full glory. eventually the joint comes back around to her turn in the rotation and she takes it. ❛ wanna shotgun ? ❜

bug has found herself almost glued to a mutual friends couch, a beer in hand and some lame sports game on the tv. this wasn't exactly the thrilling saturday night she had in mind but she guessed it was better than sitting home alone. at least a few other friends had joined the crowd. her eyes dart from the tv when she spots the other walk in and a smirk forms onto her features. "huh. i didn't think soul sucking vampires could walk in the daylight."
she walks into her friend's apartment with that confident air daisy always does, but it's played up just a bit more than usual knowing that bug is sitting on the couch inside. yet, her expression remains perfectly unreadable as her ex speaks to her for the first time in days. ❛ hello to you too, ❜ the platinum blonde greets the other with sarcasm of her own. she holds up the large bottle of vodka in her hand. ❛ you wanna help a vampire out with drinks or are you too good for that ? ❜

jesse doesn't realize he's said it aloud. he forces himself to refocus on the conversation , trying to drown out the jolt of hearing sloane's plans to leave — for who knows how long. '' i won't tell her , '' he says finally , voice steadier this time. '' that's up to you. but don't keep it to yourself for too long. better to tell her sooner rather than later. ''
beyond that , jesse isn't sure what else to say. he presses his lips into a thin line , unsure of how to contribute more. but he has to say something , doesn't he ? they can't just avoid the truth forever , leaving everything unresolved. still , the only thing keeping him from spilling everything — the words sitting heavy in his chest — is her drunkenness.

the sun is fully over the horizon now and it's beautiful. bittersweet, but still beautiful. golds and yellows and reds fall over the sand and bathe the two in the light of a new day. sloane welcomes the new beginning with closed eyes and a long exhale, breathing out all the harsh thoughts and bitter words and unpleasant feelings. it's time to let it go and wash away with the waves — this gnawing, aching, heavy - hearted attachment to her best friend's brother that she's been unable to get over for so long.
❛ i know. ❜ she keeps her eyes on the ocean and her voice carries in the wind. ❛ i'm sorry too. ❜ the three words weigh heavily with unspoken and unresolved tension, but sloane is too tired. gently, she tilts and lies her head on jesse's shoulder. it's the first direct contact they've had all summer, and completely involuntarily her eyes glass over. so she closes them to hold back the tears and successfully wills the emotion away with a shaky sigh. ❛ let's stay here. just for a minute. ❜
kasey shifts a little , the cool air from the AC brushing against her bare skin , and for a second , she just watches the way luca tries to play it off , the way his muscles tense and relax like he’s waiting for something from her. a gentle hand of hers is placed on his chest , slightly digging her nails in his skin. '' i don’t hate watermelon , '' she finally says , turning her head just enough to catch his eyes. there's a hint of a smirk playing on her lips , but it fades quickly , like she’s not giving him the satisfaction of reading her too easily. '' i just think there are better fruits out there. strawberries. peaches. ''
she lets that hang in the air for a second , watching his reaction. it’s easier to tease him than to give in to whatever this is becoming. he’s already looking at her like she’s the answer to a question he hasn’t asked yet , and it’s both flattering and unnerving. so she keeps her tone light , keeps the walls up , at least a little. she rests her head on his arm , settling into a brief quiet moment. it's comfortable and easy , it makes sense : as if all puzzle pieces have fallen into their respective places.
'' maybe ... '' kasey softly answers , her nail now tracing and drawing little circles and figures on his chest. there's something in his eyes , something softer , and it makes her pause for a second , wondering what she should say next. '' are we ... ? like , i ... what are we ? ''
it feels wrong and nearly rude to ask him that , part of her scared she should know that answer because he might know it , when she really doesn't. '' are you my summer fling ? can we be more than that ? '' her heart skips an obvious , large beat and she nearly chokes on air as she pushes herself forward , finishing her thoughts. walls crumbling. '' i think i want us to be more than that ... ''
dark chocolate hues catch kasey's gaze and turn into soft crescents. a smile, satisfied and amused, ghosts his lips as she speaks. ❛ noted, ❜ the male remarks softly, making sure to file away strawberries and peaches into his brain for future reference. he's reserved a proper spot in his mind for all - things kasey barragán since the moment he's laid eyes on her the first day they arrived in town.
what are we ? it's a serious question but luca finds his lips still pulled into a smile. ❛ i'm not seeing anybody else. ❜ other people ? no. other clients ? well ... he won't get into the semantics of it. besides — all of those wealthy wives, wine moms, and bitter divorcées are just a means to an end. they're the most money he's ever made than every pool job combined. and it'll stay luca's little secret — for now. ❛ i like you more than just a summer fling. ❜ he pulls her closer, soft knuckles brushing over the even softer skin of kasey's cheek. somehow she looks even more beautiful like this than any other time he's seen her before. ❛ but—- you're leaving, aren't you ? after the summer's over ... ❜ the last thing he wants is to push her away, but they have to be realistic. this little beach town is what it is for a reason, and in a couple months the barragán estate will be empty once more. then, he shakes his head dismissively before smiling again. ❛ we don't have to talk about it. i'll enjoy my time with you, however long it is. ❜
