I'm making here collection of superhero stuff, mostly superhero media outside of giants like DC and Marvel and superpower exploration, worldbuilding and jokes.
Feel free to tag me or send admissions.
Also if you have superpowered OCs (not necessary superheroes) you can send me that too
tags are inconsistent, but I try to sort things a bit
my posts - #superdump post
I reblog other people's art, sometimes under #superpowered oc tag, you can correct me if that's not an OC or I misinterpreted something
superpower ideas - #superpower ideas - as said in title
superpowers and superheroes communities here or anywhere else - #community builders
writing ideas, prompts, narrative tools - all under #narrative tag
I mostly reblog small artists and writers while avoiding big names, but sometimes people make valid points about giants universes (like Marvel or DC) tag is #big media and title name
I do not take responsibility for blogs from which I reblog posts, I'm not doing moral inspections
stumbled on Adult superhero erotica at z-lib and um... I forget that erotica literature exists, especially in my favorite genre. Adult superheroes for me is not when there is sex, but rather when there are... systemic issues with no easy solutions
As usual whenever you first put the collar back on, you felt an uncomfortable tingling in the back of your throat.
Granted, there were other symptoms, too; your muscles whined at you in fatigue and your whole body felt ready to curl into a ball from how soreness wracked you. But those pains were relatively expected, given the terrible transformation process your body had endured. No, it was always the tickling in the back of your throat that stood out to you; it was the kind that almost felt like something sharp getting lodged in your throat as you tried to swallow. It was one of the more unique sensations, and so it always became associated with the collar, in your mind.
Your thoughts were wandering as you were huddled atop the hood of a police car just outside the mall, red and blue revolving lights coursing around you, while a light blue blanket was enclosed over your form. The cops and other supers had shown up within minutes to assess the situation and give help to those who needed help. Somebody had given you a cup of water at some point, but you had downed that the moment it was given to you. The relief it had brought was only temporary, much to your displeasure, but it was a nice gesture.
What you appreciated more than the water was the arrest of your three bullies. Not only had one of them stolen your collar, but apparently there were a string of thefts in the area connected to a mysterious super who could instantly teleport objects that they had seen and which were within 500 feet of them. Enter, miss Jacqueline Blackwater; the actual thief of your collar, and the responsible party for the other thefts. Your collar just happened to be Jackie sticking her nose someplace she shouldn't have. The arrest (and explanation) didn't stop you from feeling like garbage, but it did give you a feeling of closure. For now, that was enough.
A dark maroon car pulled up to the scene, making you perk up, and you smiled as you saw your mother and father rush out of it, looking around, spotting you, and then starting over. A cop started to stop them--the cops had been keeping reporters and would-be righteous citizens away from you all night, until they grew bored and went someplace else-- but a quick explanation on their part, followed by an "okay" given by the officer in charge cleared that up. The moment they were let by, your parents rushed over; Ren and Margaret Kawahime were doting, loving, and supportive. Everything you could ask for in parents, truthfully, especially considering that their nineteen-year-old daughter was a certified Weapon of Mass Destruction. You stood up, and started to approach them as they approached you. The first thing your mom did after rushing up to you was pull you into a hug, of course, which made your body scream in soreness, but you didn't care. You just appreciated the affection; you hugged her back.
"Are you alright?" Mom asked, "We heard there was an explosion on the news, and then we got the call from the Commissioner," Commissioner Miller, friend of the family and one of the few people who has done his damndest to keep the government out of your business. Somehow, he hadn't been fired yet. As your mother waited for an answer, you had to take a moment. You hadn't realized up until now just how much your voice was bothering you. Still, as you cleared your throat, you managed to speak through a parched voice,
"Yeah, I'm fine, I'm fine. Just some really dumb people doing really dumb things. I'll...come back for my car in the morning. Can we head home?"
"Yeah," your mother beamed, hugging you again, as your father went to go get the car ready.
On the trip home, you rubbed your face with one hand. In the back of your mind, if you listened really closely, you could still hear Tiamat's whispers. That buildup of energy was still inside you, and though it had been cut off before it could get catastrophic, there was no doubt that it would take time to die off before it finally left you alone. That wasn't unusual, but it disturbed you deep inside.
Idly, your fingers came to rest on your collar. The uncomfortable, angular thing was necessary, but all too often it felt less like a security blanket, and more like a chafing pair of handcuffs.
You swallowed hard. You needed some water, and some time to process and consider what, if anything, came next from this, but for the moment, you could simply rest. You just closed your eyes, and were grateful that the day, at least, was over.
-----
Over the next few days, you made several reports to Sumacil, who were, of course, very interested in your status after everything that happened. You also got some visits from the local heroes of the area, mostly the ones who had shown up to try and help at the scene, who were very worried that someone had almost tried to set off the local Super-WMD.
Other than assuring everyone that no, you weren't going to suddenly explode and destroy the world, though, your life was relatively normal over the next couple of days. The property damage was rather minimal, and as a result, Sumacil covered it, mostly hoping you'd just keep quiet and let them also cover up the fact that it ever happened. Honestly, you were kind of glad to, if only to spare yourself the attention.
Meanwhile, College classes continued as normal, and life went on. Although, people gave you odd looks now and again. That was an understandable reaction, though; after all, you pretty much were a walking bomb with a containment device strapped to your neck. Hard not to stare, right?
Either way. It was almost a week later; classes were over for the day, and that meant you had a little time to yourself, to just sit and think. It was raining out, so you decided that, instead of going home, you'd spend some time in the school library. Your mind began to wander as you were settled in one of the plush loveseats, close to a window.
You didn't have many in the way of friends. You had a few acquaintances, people who knew you weren't so bad, and that things weren't doom and gloom around you all the time. But, for the most part, you were alone.
Which is why you were surprised when someone sat down across from you and made you jump a little. They looked big, at least six feet tall and jacked as could be. And all the way across their collarbone was a lightning tree scar, something that you couldn't help but feel bore a striking similarity the teardrop burn scar that you had on your collarbone. That alone put you on edge. The person had long, black hair with a shock of white in the middle, tied back.
They also had this big, stupid smirk on their face. Their light-grey shirt was a couple buttons loose specifically to show the scar, but otherwise, they looked totally relaxed, if a little eager. A strong jawline, steel blue eyes.
"You're Kawahime, right? The one who's been holding back Tiamat?"
You sat up straight, and you were fairly sure all the color was draining from your face. Taking a deep breath, you slowly replied,
"...Maybe I am. Who's asking?"
"Somebody," they put both hands on the coffee table between you two, and brought their hands together, "who has a patron of their own who might be interested in helping you lessen your patron's influence. Someone who could make your life a whole lot easier, if you're interested. Michaela Truemellow," they extended their hand, but you declined shaking, just on general principle. As they retracted their hand, you sat and thought about their statement for a moment.
"..." The whispers were back, and you somehow managed to shrug off listening to them, though they got louder and louder with every moment. Worth at least hearing this individual out, right? "...I'm listening," you said, cautious, but intrigued.
"What if," they leaned toward you, hands still clasped together, "I told you that my patron and I could take some of Tiamat's power away? Enough to where you wouldn't have to wear that collar? At all."
Your eyes practically bulged out of your head. Common sense told you this was nonsense and that listening would only cause you more trouble, but there was a part of you, the part that took off the collar every time you went into a dressing room, that desperately needed to listen to this. "...I might be interested in that. What's the catch?"
"The catch is that instead of a collar, you have to wear a magic ring. And that I'd get a boost in power for my patron and I. But otherwise?" They grinned, and placed a ring that looked like a bird's talon down on the table. "All you have to do...is wear the ring. And you don't have to look like a caged animal."
You stared down at the ring, like gazing into the abyss. You almost reached towards it. Almost.
"I..." Common sense found your mind, someplace in there. You took a slow, deep breath, and resisted the urge to fiddle with your collar. "...Do you mind if I take the ring home with me? Have some people study it?" Your eyes flicked up to Michaela. However, just as you got your hopes up, Michaela shook their head, and frowned,
"Sorry, 'fraid I can't have that happen. This ring took a lot of work to acquire, and I can't risk someone coming along and tampering with it or what have you." You stared down at the ring again, and Michaela added, "Come on, do you want the collar off, or don't you?"
What a stupid question; of course you wanted the damn thing off. It was the super equivalent of a straitjacket, and you had to wear it at all times and all hours. Memories flashed through your head of being bullied for it, of being told you were evil, a caged monster the government had to keep locked up at all times for fear you'd get loose and kill everyone.
You wanted the damn thing off so badly. With a deep breath, you reached out...
...and stood up, smiled, and said to a confused Michaela,
"Sorry. I'm afraid not." To say Michaela was dumbstruck would be insufficient, truthfully. They were baffled.
You explained, "Someone showing up a week or so after an incident with my collar, who I know nothing about, providing me with an answer to my problems that I didn't ask for, claiming it will make everything immediately better, and then keeping the consequences vague and mysterious? On top of that, not even letting me take the thing to the proper authorities to study?" Your expression had turned into a wide grin, and you rolled your eyes. "Please; you couldn't have laid a more obvious trap if you tried. Thanks...but no thanks." You gathered up your books, and Michaela sputtered as you added, "I hope you have a good day, and...please don't do this again, you're lucky I don't report you to the authorities for doing this sort of thing."
Part of that last statement was genuine. Part of it was a warning not to come after you, made to what you suspected, somehow, was a fellow champion of another cosmic entity. You didn't have the context for who they were, and that was part of why you had said no.
So, without further ado, you took your things and headed off. Part of you wanted to run back there and grab that ring right now, but, you forced your legs to keep moving. Part of you hated that you had to leave it behind. Part of you wanted this damned collar off. But, by the same token, you were proud of yourself for resisting the temptation. It wasn't often that you had the opportunity to choose when it came to the collar. And, although you regretted not putting it on, you felt that, for now, you had made the right choice. There were just too many unknowns for you to say 'yes.'
-----
You were on your way out to your car, heading through the school parking lot. The sun was starting to set, and you were fumbling in your pockets for your keys, when you heard a noise. You glanced up, and saw a fist just as it barreled into your face, knocking you cold.
The show is a lot like a sci-fi version of The Owl House, since that was one of my main inspirations alongside Guardians of the Galaxy and Steven Universe. I've always wanted to write a space story, but because my writing writing style isn't as descriptive as it should it, I never knew how. But now that I've started screenwriting, which focuses on more on visuals than internally (like thoughts).
I know I'm getting ahead of myself but below are what are going to happen in the seasons of the show. It will be animated (obviously), most definitely in the art style of shows like Star vs the forces of evil or, as said before, the owl house.
Pilot- Indie's origin story
Season 1: Supernova fighting villains as well as adjusting to life on Earth
Season finale- a big fight against the main antagonist, Agent Cross, though she is defeated by another superpowered kid named Kai who shoots her with a freeze Ray. Ends on cliffhanger.
Season 2- Indie wakes up back in Space and is forced to join SKY (Strategic Knowledge for Youth), a training facility for other superpowered teens run by the government. There, she meets Nancy, a chaotic but morally grey shapeshifter and Kai, the water bender who helped bring her here as well as Agent Cross whi is behind SKY, who know goes by Nathan. Indie doesn't trust anyone and deals with extreme homesickness and dread. She plans to escape.
Season finale: Indie, Kai and Nancy escape SKY, though many of the cadets are left behind.
Season 3: They return back on Earth and stay in hiding with Indie's dad and his girlfriend. The first few episode are about Indie helping Kai and Nancy adjust to Earth as she did, before they properly plan how to save the other kids from the program as well as being hunted them by Nathan and the cadets still loyal to him.
Season finale: Indie, Kai and Nancy lead a team to save the other SKY cadets. But there's a traitor, someone too loyal to SKY and has been secretly feeding him info on their whereabouts, leading them straight into a trap. After a big fight scene, the facility eventually self-destructs, Nathan barely escapes and it leaves the question: is SKY truly gone?
That's all for now, folks. Updates on the pilot, titled Supernova: Starborn will be coming soon!
She was mostly inspired by the Ethan Nakamura fanart by @jadetheblueartist. Let's call her MJ for now. Since I mostly focus on appearance when creating a new character, I don't know if I want her to have long curly hair always left or a pixie cut. She's wears an eyepatch with visible scars spread across her cheeks a little, caused by an accident she refuses to talk about. The one thing that she wants is to be a Hero, someone who was looked up to and saved the world. But she is always overshadowed , so I'm sensing wrong anti-villain vibes from her.
Another thing that she is or was neglected by her parents, depending on her old I will make her. 16 or 18? Plus she's overshadowed by her brother who is a Hero so this one dialogue has been swimming in my head all day:
"Everybody loves Golden Star. They laugh at all your funny quips. But nobody knows what it's like to be on the other side of them, forever taken as a joke."
Golden Star, I assume, is her brother who is a beloved Hero who overshadows MJ. This dialogue is said as a scene when she is momentarily knocked down again from another failed attempt at being a Hero, despite everyone, including Golden Star, sees her as a wannabe supervillain.
It's a pretty interesting concept that's already poking at my love and skill of writing Superhero Fiction. Not to mention all the questions that need to be answered such as why are Heroes spelled with a capital letter? Are they more than just superhumans? Plus what are MJ's powers? Is she powerless (which would explain why no one takes her seriously)?
*sigh* guess my collection of short stories has to be put on hold, not with this idea floating around my head.
If you excuse me, I have a superhero universe to build.
villain character who has a last minute change of heart and sacrifices their life to defeat an even bigger bad but it entirely does not land as a redemption with the heroes. the heroes are just like "oh hell yeah two birds with one stone. thank fucking god i really didnt wanna have to deal with that guy anymore. good riddance."
superheroes try too hard to be cool these days when nobody can ever beat "his name is spider man and he dresses like a spider because he has the powers of a spider"
i like when a piece of media says that an all-powerful character "sees humans as insects" because that really could mean a lot of things. maybe they view us as insignifigant and will squish us under their boot. maybe theyre actually studying and cataloguing us for their thesis paper. maybe theyre campaigning for human protection because we're an important part of their ecosystem. maybe they see a human and go "ew ew ewwwwww someone get the cup and get that FREAK out of my house." .
My oc Jester (AKA Leilani Lanuola)! She’s a former vigilante turned superhero in the fictional city of Los Reyes! She has super strength and is on a team with her friends (or at least who she considers friends): Roadrunner (AKA Cheshta Reddy) and Dolce Radiowave (AKA Zulema Ochoa) (we’ll see if I actually make refs for them lolz)
yapping about my superhero ocs and more make-up variants under the cut
miss nomer is one of the recurring 'villains' in the superhero world i have, that i'm planning to eventually make a comic of 🙂↕️
... but i'm gonna be so fr, i'm not sure about how this turned out but it's close enough to how i envision her that i'll leave it like this for now! her superpower is illusions anyway, so she constantly changes how she looks but always tends towards this sort of aesthetic in varying intensity.... i feel like i kinda want to lean more into drag-type makeup for her though, make her entire self a performance
i'm not quite sure yet what i want to make her motives, but i want her to have a good reason for what she does so the public likes/pities her because they agree with what she's saying, just not how she does it
some makeup variants + extra info:
some of the superheroes since i haven't posted them here before:
from left to right, they are electric outlaw, solar flare (the team leader) and spacegirl!! i haven't designed the boys of the team yet but they're quickstep, highland heart and rock 'n' riot (riot is not technically part of the team but he shows up so often, he's like their stray cat)!!
there's also gonna be two other heroes that'll appear as part of an arc (then become official SupaLive members) that uncovers some secrets of a corrupt politician and SupaLive have to take this brother sister duo under their wing to protect them 👀
A little bit of lore about an OC, the superhero Pinky aka Pink Power (unrelated to the comic series of the same name, was a coincidence)
Anyway, her superhero costume has a fairly long cape. (Can’t find an up to date drawing rn) And the thing is, her cape is canonically attached with a somewhat velcro-adjacent material. (Well, stronger than regular velcro with similar durability/resistance properties to superhero suit materials but you get the idea)
The top edge of the cape is hidden under this large collar thing that goes around the back of the costume. The purpose of this feature is if the cape snags, it can just cleanly rip off instead of dragging her with it.
Surprisingly when people discuss the practicality of superhero capes, I seem to notice that the idea of detachable capes isn’t often factored into the argument. (Pinky is capable of flight without the cape)
And besides there are multiple other utility purposes for having a large sheet of fabric not permanently attached to your back such as shielding others from the rain, as a distraction/decoy, or as a makeshift sack (which I was considering writing into a story at one point)
As a superhero fan, I decided to make some ocs for the superhero rpg Masks a new generation.
