God knows I have been a very indifferent lover, but you understand me. You understand my feelings?
EMMA dir. Autumn de Wilde (2020)
Hi, I'm posting this here, late but I'm new in this platform so I'm still learning how to use it.
So, Misha said Castiel's wings were rainbow so I had to do it.
EVERYDAY IS JUST LOGGING INTO THE SUPERNATURAL FANDOM ON THIS HELLSITEď¸
Supernatural had the opportunity to do something great. To send a message of love and validation to a whole community. Not only to the part of the community that liked their show, but to all of us. But instead they decided to pander to the people, who never had to fight for their representation.
I support #TheySilencedYou, #TheySilencedThem and #TheyWillNeverSilenceUs and I'm in awe of all of you. Of your eloquence, passion, coordination and decisiveness. And I feel like your message goes beyond this particular TV show and the CW.
It's about protesting a pattern of disrespect towards otherness in Mainstream Media. It's about demanding meaningful, unmistakably queer representation, that enables discourse and furthers understanding in a heterogenic Audience. It's about asking Networks to not only hire diverse staff but to also give them the freedom to tell their stories the way they want to. It's about telling creators to own up to the inherent messages they leave us with in the end.
And that's inspiring and should be celebrated.
Stories matter.
I wish I could accidentally write a love story as good as deancas like the show runners did. the nickname that dean gives castiel literally removes the suffix âielâ - of god. the person that cas loved more than he loved god, heaven and all the angels, the person who cas lost his faith for was the same person who removed âof godâ from his name. and instead of actually coming up with that masterstroke of storytelling, you know these morons only did that because âcastielâ is too difficult to type.
I'm browsing the tags & there's just so much to take in
I AM DYING HAHAHA THANK YOU
the cw: hey latin america, did you dub the unrequited love confession from castiel for episode 18?
latin american network: âŚunrequited what?
the cw: you know, when cas dies after saying âi love you, bye deanâ
latin american network: yeah, âi love youâ, then bi dean
the cw: bye, dean
latin american network: bi dean
the cw: BYE, DEAN
you either die the last great american queerbait or live long enough to see yourself go canon in spanish
Destiel: I wanna become canon.
Whatever god orchestrated 2020:
Explanation 1 of 2 in my mind as to why Castiel wasnât in that hallucinatory nightmare punchline of a 15 year long hate crime finale
Bonus:
What the Fuck Happened to the SPN Finale?
Okay so here it is, my Charlie Kelly style manifesto.
Before I get into it, I recognize that I will look like this to many of you, and thatâs okay, I understand:
Secondly, your personal Takes about the writers donât interest me, I donât need to hear them. This, as Iâll explain, is going to remain a writer positive blog, and thatâs the end of it.
Third, and most importantly: some of what Iâm going to talk about is fact, and some is highly educated speculation. I will notate what is speculation, just so thereâs no confusion or hot takes in my inbox that Iâm a conspiracy theorist or stirring shit up for no reason.
A list of what Iâll be discussing
The episode in regards to the rest of the season
The episode issues: length, editing
Scene placement and speculation of scenes cut
The scrubbing of Jack, Cas, Eileen
Network involvement and general timeline of when things were cut
Misha: theories on where he was, official company line, why we canât expect to hear anything directly
The silence of the cast post episode (in Mishaâs case, mid episode) and what this might mean
Jensen speaking with Kripke about the ending: why it doesnât mean what you might think (also why kripke remained positive on the ending)
Walker, and why this episode had a major shift
Why the network would do this or get involved
Why the writers of the show simply arenât the bad guys here, and what I âwantâ out of this post, since I know itâll get asked
This is very long and under a cut, but I hope youâll give it a read.
pls make a meme of them trying to tie all these unrelated points into the finale/alt finale they made to avoid destiel/gay love with the guy in front of the board and red string
Ask and you shall receive :) This got a little long lolÂ
I finally figured out why it feels like Supernatural murdered a unicorn (AKA why you need to STOP telling me to watch Black Sails)
Iâll start by saying, everything everyone else has been saying CERTAINLY bothers me:Â
- the queer-baiting - the bury your queers - the undermining of Deanâs character arc - the wasted opportunity for a certain kind of overall narrative closure - the flat out disrespect to Misha Collins and Jensen Ackles
All of that bothers me tremendously.Â
But there has been something else rather ineffable about this that has left a horrible taste in my mouth that I couldnât quite pin down until last night. Bear with me, if you will, because this will require some set-up.Â
