This…This was actually nice! Normally Damian would have his flirting thrown back in his face or ignored, but this guy was practically THROWING himself on him! Now that he thought about it, a coffee date sounded pretty g-

"BWAHAHAHA finally someone who gets me! Honestly you’re one of the first to joke back with me when I flirt. Normally they either slap me, ignore me, or get fucked by me. Occasionally in that order."

"You curious ‘bout my talent? I’m a firefighter! Worked at the station back home, but since I’ve started goin’ to HPA I’ve been workin’ with some of the locals here. Like I said, I was gonna go with some of ‘em today, but they ditched for a night at the club, and I’m not allowed- too young for it."

Kazuki bounced in front of the other, trying to get them moving towards the school doors.

"I see you're quite the busy man. I don't got time for stuff like that... keeps me away from the arcade!!"

But, well, different strokes for different folks, he guessed. Anyways, there was a distinct lack of him getting caffeine in his body, so he decided to grab on to Damian's arm and attempt to pull him faster down the hallway.

"Ooooooohh... a firefighter! Fascinating stuff there. I guess my own talent is a lot less helpful to society. I just like hitting buttons on loud, brightly colored arcade cabinets to obnoxiously energetic music!!"

The coffee was calling to him... so he tugged a little harder on the firefighter's beefy arm to get him to go.

"So, uh, where didja say this place was? I must say I'm excited for an afternoon double espresso!"

There was the briefest moment of relaxation for Mitsu as Kaito apologized for his recklessness. That was all she had really needed: reassurance than he knew what he had done was stupid. So when he proceeded to pull her in even closer, Mitsu was a little more than confused.

"Wh-Wh-"

She felt the words die in her throat as she listened to him. He was big enough and holding on tight enough that his every tremor felt like it was rattling her bones. Kaito, who could do anything as far as Mitsu could tell, was scared. Well, now she just felt like an asshole for lecturing him. There was no way she could match his force; instead her hands flattened against his back as she began to rub in soft circles.

"…. I-It’s okay. You’re…. y-you’re okay. That’s what matters. That’s all that matters right now."

Her skills rusty when it came to this kind of comforting. No matter how many different ways of wording it, the only ones that seemed to come out were. “It’s okay.” She knew that these words held little meaning in the grand scheme of things but for now, reminding Kaito that things were okay seemed important.

Kaito sighed as he finally began to weaken his embrace on the other. There were tears in his eyes, but he tried his best to keep himself relatively emotionally stable for the girl in front of him.

"Thank ya... Mitsu-chan. I dunno where I'd end up without ya..."

He chuckled out a sorry excuse for a laugh and rested one of his hands on Mitsu's shoulder. She was right, after all -- he should be taking better care of himself, but it was so hard to stop himself from immediately jumping to the aid of someone that needed it. Well, there was nothing he could do about it now. Right now he had to make sure Mitsu knew he was gonna be ok... that was the first priority.

"I can't even begin t'... no. No what's important is that... I'm sorry... I did somethin' stupid... and I'm gonna try anythin' quite that stupid in th' future."

He shuddered under his shaky breath as he winced from a few of his injuries.

"I'm jus'... glad yer here fer me, Mitsu-chan. You've always been a friend I can count on. An' it... it means a lot t' me, y'know?"

Right when he wanted his feelings to spill forth, his words began tumbling out in fragmented, shallow sentences. Damn it, brain, now? Of all times? You're trying to be sentimental here! Get it together!!

"A-and I hope that we can stay close... for a long time, yeah?"

......Eeeehhhh you get points for effort.

Without warning, a new student jumps in front of you, blocking your path, right arm outstretched with a black felt tip marker in hand. Wide-eyed, he thrusts the marker towards you.

"Hey, you! I dunno who you are, but you wanna sign my cast?! C’mon, it’ll only take a second!"

He pulls his left arm from the sling around his neck, revealing a white cast travelling from his wrist up to his elbow. Who is this kid? And why is he so excited to have a broken arm?

Kaito jumped back when he saw the other kid forcibly enter his field of vision.

"W-whoa! Easy there, tiger. Nearly gave me a heart attack!"

But, he wasn't threatening him... or doing anything malicious for that matter. He was asking if Kaito would -- sign his cast? Huh? Kid, don't be jumping around like that with a broken arm!

"Phew, OK. Sure thing -- this should only take a sec."

In a messy scrawl over the rough surface of the cast, Kaito quickly hashed out the kanji for his name, mostly legible in the black marker.

"There! All done! As ya can see, m'names Kaito Hamamoto. I'm a SCUBA Instructor. Now... what th' hell happened to ya that gave ya a fracture? And why are ya so damn excited about it?"

At least Kaito was being honest. Still, Mitsu’s face went from worried to frustrated even as the hugging intensified. She didn’t dare break away from him; instead, she opted to lecture into his chest.

"Y-You can’t keep doing shit like this! Wh-What if one of them h-had something worse planned? W-What if they had more people waiting around? Four on One w-was bad odds from the start! Y-You’re a tough guy, Kaito-kun, b-but you’re not invincible!"

She locked her hands behind Kaito’s back and pressed her face completely into his shirt. There was no way she was letting him just walk away from this, not when she knew this wasn’t just some fall down the stairs or accident in the storage room. But even in the long seconds that passed as she clung to her companion, Mitsu knew her frustration was ebbing into relief. Her shoulders relaxed slightly as she spoke up again.

"Y-You and y-your no good hero complex… I-I’m just glad y-you’re not beat up a-any worse. Y-You’re gonna look like a-a mess for the next few days, I-I hope you know."

Kaito laughed weakly at the muffled lecturing coming from somewhere around his mid torso. She was right... honestly. He was stupid to think he could engage in the situation without repercussions, and now he was sporting the consequences in the form of injuries. Yeah... yeah he had fucked up.

"I'm... i'm really sorry 'bout that, Mitsu-chan. I should'nt've thrown m'self into that... yeah, I find it a little hard t' stand idly by, and it gets me in a heap o' trouble but..."

He reciprocated the hug further, practically enveloping Mitsu in his mass.

"I gotta protect them. I just... I can't sit back 'n' watch. It... it kills me. I just can't help it."

The instructor shook a little as his next words came out.

"And I guess, if I'm gonna be tot'lly honest, I'm scared it's gonna end up hurtin' others... other's that care about me... if I get hurt."

Kaito felt awful about making others worry for him; he didn't mean to make people fret over him, but, it just seemed to happen all the time around him... and he couldn't help it at all.

Mitsu approached and carefully wrapped her arms around Kaito. She didn’t usually treat him like he was made of spun glass, but the sheer amount of bruising she could see led to to believe there was much more she didn’t.

Kaito chuckled a bit at Mitsu's 'joke' as she leaned in for a tentative hug. The instructor brought his large arms down around her back and reciprocated the embrace, careful not to aggravate any of the bruising.

"Heheheh... at th' risk o' soundin' cliched, if ya think I look bad, you should see th' other guys..."

He held the embrace for a moment longer, not wanting to let the girl go just yet.

"Buncha punk kids harassin' a student o' mine. Left the community center late today. Caught 'em givin' him a hard time. Couldn't really stop m'self at that point."

He tightened the hug just a tiny amount.

"And, w-well, there was four o' them 'n' one o' me, so I took a bit ova beatin'. Still laid 'em all out in th' end, though!"

It was quite a busy day on the streets of Tokyo. Genpachi, as he was more often than not, was on his work shift, roaming around in front of his host club to pick up customers. The weather being quite hot, he had to pause a few times to fan himself with the club leaflets that he had spread out in his hands. Hopefully he would be able to go back inside soon and hand this task over to another guy.

Since it was after school, he guessed that a lot of people his own age would be out and about. He could spot a few walking around, and he guessed that he could try one of them. Young people did tend to like unique experiences such as hosting, after all.

He carefully approached a passing pedestrian and tapped their shoulder, hoping that they would stop for him.

"Excuse me! My name is Genpachi and I’m one of the leading hosts of Kabukichou. Would you be interested in having a drink with me? Tonight is a special offer."

Kaito stopped and turned when he felt someone tap his shoulder. There appeared to be someone offering a drink to him... a special offer? Just what exactly was this kid's dea-- oh, he was a host. Huh, he'd never participated in anything like that before, but, then again, this was a new kind of city he was in... a far cry from his much smaller seaside town in Okayama.

"Genpachi, eh? Neat name. M'name's Kaito Hamamoto, pleased t' meetcha. Now, what's this aboutta special offer?"

There were so many possible connotations to that phrase that Kaito wasn't even going to bother trying to sort them all out. Better jsut to ask and see what was being offered in plain terms. And a 'drink'?

"I'll bite -- you've definitely piqued m'interest. Got anythin' else in yer sales pitch that I should hear?"

His smile was reserved, but genuine. Hell, he had nothing to do on a Saturday night. Might as well fill it with something marginally exciting, right?

His fingers traced the smooth surfaces of his bike. They trailed across the leather of the seat, the rubber of the tire, the metal of the body until finally resting upon the bike’s chain. His expression didn’t seem to waver greatly, ’I need grease’ he thought as he straddled his pride and joy, his beautiful bike. His feet found the peddles instantly, his hands the perfect position on the handles. Riding came more naturally to him than breathing did. The earth beneath his tires gave a sweet crackle as he began to propel himself forward. When he cycled it was to the natural primal beat, he didn’t like counting as he rode. This was one of if not the only things he could do without really thinking about it. Throwing his head back he expelled the air from his lungs in a contented breath. He finally looked forward, only to see a large man standing in his way, 'has he seen me? Is he blissfully unaware? How long was he there for? I- I- What do I do?!' Akihiro had to make a snap decision, stop the bike abruptly and crash into this guy or try and avoid him. Without doing much thinking his arms jolted left, with them the bike, and with the bike him. He sailed past the stranger and straight into, not only the active electric fence but a nice sharp bramble bush as well .

"Awwh frick."

Kaito didn't make it a point to go for runs -- he greatly preferred his exercise to be done in the water -- but every now and again it was a nice change of pace. Now, due to his lack of experience in jogging or running for exercise, he didn't realize that stopping to catch his breath in the middle of the goddamn path was poor form, and would likely be frowned upon by others out at the time.

Or, perhaps more than frowned upon.

He barely heard the bike coming up behind him, but he did hear it as it zoomed just to the left of him, careening off the path and throwing the rider into a painful disarray. Oh shit, now he'd done it.

Kaito quickly leaped over to where the cyclist was struggling, carefully removing him from the brambles and ensuring he was no longer coming into contact with the electric fence. When he was sure that the other was free of the bush, he began quickly checking him over for injuries, looking for anything that looked particularly grievous.
