Typical Brazilian gangster genre movie. That’s why it’s completely not relatable. Because it’s not American, it’s not Italian, it’s not at least Indian. So what do you expect from a Brazilian gangster? Samba, football and coffee business, right? Certainly not. In the heart of the ‘City of God,’ the precious powder was coke. You know what it is and it is what it is. The movie started at an audible tone of voice which you probably can’t avoid. But some of the things in the movie, you can avoid. That’s quite a problem I faced to keep up with the story sometimes it was boring and you had to go through those parts to complete the puzzle. The story is quite local and you’ll get the exact view of what goes down in the snake-like Brazilian streets. If you’re in search of organized crime thriller then it’s not the one because what I’ve seen the story is about little troublemaker neighborhood imps becoming the worshiped Gods of the city. The story is quite amusing, Events are worth watching, acting quite thrilling. But even putting all these together I don’t think it’s that much good. What a movie. What a guy Martin Scorsese. I mean people make such movies, obliviously it was a trend back then but Martin Scorsese took the genre a certain height with his different thoughts based on the same backbone of the storyline. I won't say a word about these two obliviously, De Niro and Pesci, whatever I can tell you've heard already. But certainly a well-done acting performance by Sharon Stone. De Niro totally acted a different character little different from his usual characteristics which we see in movies. I appreciate that. The story is nothing out of the blue, you know how Martin likes to portray those, but I can surely tell you that it gonna thrill you. But in this movie the difference that I found out that the fireworks came really late and the bloodbath started at the end half of the drama. Certainly, a new thing to watch from a gangster genre. Politics may be an interesting factor worked in the movie which will keep you with the movie till the climax. But the musical aspects have taken to a joyful ride with some really melodious jazz keeping the tone of the movie a little bit higher. La La Land obviously has swept the academy room with some high voltage success but if Damien Chazelle looked for perfection, he could've come a little closer to the perfection level. The movie is obviously good but it should've been better. Ryan Gosling's acting was to the point what was required but not more than that. But his companion Emma Stone has done an excellent job to portray the reel as well as real life. Through her performance, the dream and the reality were quite clear enough to differentiate. The classical jazz tone from the background with the dance of the two has created a enjoyable ambience and given an artistic drama to the romantic reality. As Damien Chazelle tried to save the dying art form extinction, I'd say his previous try was better than this one. The musical drama 'Whiplash' had the intensity to hold the audience in an intense position where nobody knew what would happen not even the protagonist. But here he tried to give it more romanticism to the movie and to establish the connection between the two he had used music as a bridge. . “City of stars are you shinning just for me!” . Rightly so but if the movie is only made to view as a one-take no cut scene then, what happens? your imagination got stuck between how you can fit the idea with a 4-5 mile long battlefield. Well, if you're struggling to find the solution you need to watch 1917 right now! What I want to talk about, and probably the best thing about the movie, the cinematography. When an experienced person like Roger Deakins has done it what more can you ask? Hey, I mean he has done work on some prestigious films like The Shawshank Redemption, A beautiful mind, Blade Runner 2049 with some renowned directors. He has the vision to create something worth watching. Some small scenes from the movie are really adventurous. Sometimes you will not expect something but it'll happen such fast that you'll be shocked. But overall the movies lack the type of ending drama you would expect from the movie to deliver on the climax seeing the thrilling middle-way events. During the movie, you'll feel yourself a part of the plot like you're walking with the characters and watching their six. But it's a typical war movie and it can provide the experience of a war-torn city and the lives of different people from different backgrounds and their struggles to keep moving. But don't expect any high-edge thrilling drama or mind-blowing climax from the movie. “I hoped today might be a good day.
