extremely homophobic that it's literally pride month and i don't even have a cute queerplatonic boyfriend with a cute sneeze who lets me tickle his nose all the time
When someone has a really bad cold or hayfever, and even when they're not sneezing, they look like they're about to. Eyebrows constantly pulling together, eyes narrowed with that vacant look coming and going, pink nostrils flaring/quivering, lips parted, upper lip slightly pulled up, showing a glimpse of teeth... they just look so, so sneezy, even as they go about their day.
And no wonder they look sneezy, their nose and sinuses are prickling and tickling nonstop... sometimes they tip over that tickly threshold and they sneeze. And they sneeze and sneeze. But every time they manage to stop sneezing, they still need to.
😈🥵
sniffing some flowers
Allergies hold back I guess
Flowers don't make me sneeze unless I like really inhale the pollen and because they have been in my room for the past week my nose was already sensitive and oh boy I sneezed for days after.
#pollen is no joke #the weather also cannot make ups it mind #one day it's 80 the next it's 60 #my sinuses are a mess #I've gone though so many tissues this past month 🤧
I’m curious
Do you have the photic sneeze reflex?
I’m photic (I sneeze when I look at the sun/bright light)
I’m not photic
We all know the classic battle between a nose and a feather, but have you ever taken the time to stop and smell the roses (pun intended) when it comes to it?
The anticipation the nose feels just knowing the feather is near, how every nerve buzzes with a subtle itch
The feeling of the first touch, the moment the nose and the feather touch. How it feels, pleasant, at first. Every part of the feather caressing the nose. And suddenly the touch feels like so much more.
Even though the feather only trails the outside, the nose scrunches, hoping to push off the touch. The touch is so light, it no longer is a touch. It’s a tickle. And as the feather moves to the widened openings of the nose, the tickle spreads up and into the nose.
The feather dances around the nostrils, moving with the flares and the squirming of the nose. The tickle now sends waves of warning. Warning that this beautiful delicate object isn’t as innocent as it seems.
And the warning finds meaning as the feather invites itself into the damp opening, swirling and familiarizing itself with the layout. The clear trail of liquid escaping the nose also begins to make the feather stick to itself as the warm breath picks up, pulling the feather in and out.
But the tickle isn’t enough to make the feather leave. It has only begun its exploration of every crevasse and curve inside the nose. And it is almost like it is being welcomed inside with how wide the nose is making itself for the feather.
But soon, the feather takes note of how wet the area has become, how the breaths have lost their rhythm and become even bigger, and it understands that it may not be wanted right now. So it takes its leave, brushing against the interior as it does so.
But the damage is done. The nose has reached its limit. And now it rids itself of the tickle, expelling all the mess that the feather made with it.
I love the concept of a character smelling something (like perfume or powder or spice) that has a very delayed effect.
Something along the lines of “how’s it smell?”
“It makes me feel sneezy…”
And it’s only about two minutes later that the person starts sporadically sneezing. As if whatever they smelled has been lingering and the body’s finally fed up with it.

“Oh, bless you,” Ilya hums vaguely, eyes fixed on something in their fridge.
“Thank you,” Shane can’t help if he blushes as he replies. Ilya doesn’t know what this is doing to him. And thank god he doesn’t. He hides a sniffle behind his hand.

am I the only monsterfucker snzfucker who was like “👀” during this part?
the snzfucker’s guide to the snziest plants
for when you need to put your OCs/favs in a Situation™ or if you're simply curious about the science behind why plants make us sneeze
please do not reblog to non-snz blogs // Minors DNI (18+ blog)
Hi! I'm Leni and I'm a plant ecologist and snzfucker (obviously). If you like to include accurate details in your snz fics but don't know where to start when it comes to all things hay fever and plant allergies (or if you're just curious for...reasons) then you've come to the right place! I've put together this mini guide to get you started. If you ever have any questions on any of the following, please feel free to reply to this post (or send me an ask if you prefer to be anonymous).
View/download this post in a Google Doc format (don't worry - viewing is 100% anonymous. You can see my username but I (and others who view the doc) can't see yours.
IN THIS GUIDE:
Mini crash course on plants, pollen + pollination
A selected list of the sneeziest plants, categorized by: 🌻 wildflowers + weeds 🌾 grasses 🌳 shrubs 🌲 trees 💐 cultivated flowers 💥 sternutatory plants 🏅special mentions
The Chhinkni Corner™ - how/why does it work? a deeper dive into plant snience (snz science...hehe)
Some fun plant + snz facts sprinkled throughout
Tools, references, and resources at the end
Feel free to skip directly to the parts that interest you. I won't be offended if you don't read it all!
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMERS BEFORE WE GET STARTED:
In an attempt to keep this as accessible as possible I am simplifying some concepts and skipping over some entirely. Otherwise there's just too much to get into!
This is by no means a complete list of species rather a selected assortment
I am not an immunologist, allergist, or palynologist (pollen scientist). I’m coming at this through the lens of a plant ecologist and snzfcker
While I did create one of the figures/images in this chart, the others I have 'borrowed' from elsewhere on the internet - normally I would include proper credits/citations but, uh, I don't really think we want the authors to accidentally end up here.
Many plants, including some referenced in this document and the included resources can be extremely toxic, dangerous – or even deadly – if used, consumed, or prepared incorrectly. Do not be silly in your pursuit of snz.
Let's dive in! (don't worry, there won't be a pop quiz)
Nintendo please add an allergies little quirk/item or decoration that can reliably make a Mii sneeze 🙏 amen
Friendly reminder that if you use generative AI for making sneeze content, block me. If I see GenAI on your blog, I’m blocking you.
GenAI’s not nearly at a place where it can be used ethically, and in a way that doesn’t actively hurt the ecosystem.
In my country especially, huge tech industries, billionaires, and my government are all using generative AI as backing to instill fear and threats of destroying small jobs that marginalized communities rely on to put food on tables for families. All to scrape extra coins into their already-fat wallets.
The richest person in the world is trying to spoon feed his robot to erase black history and argue that trans people don’t deserve to exist.
This is why I don’t have any respect for GenAI at the moment. The humans using them obsessively are too hinged on maximum product for minimum effort, which they mask under the term ‘accessibility.’
And to those who use GenAI in the sneeze fetish community? If you ever come across this post, take a moment to think about the people you are finding yourself surrounded by. Do you notice people distancing themselves from you? Do you see that as the months go by, that ‘art’ you spent hundreds (or for some, thousands) of dollars worth of AI programs on looks soulless? Is this what you’re prepared to spend hundreds more on?
Feel free to reblog this post if you want those on your snzblr blog to know you do not stand with GenAI. Do not reblog to non-snz blogs.
Anybody else just prefer the sloooooow buildup? Especially when inducing?
The buzzing tickle. The hitchy breaths. The expanding chest. The false starts, the desperation, the succumb to the tickle before the release.
wait wait just went down a whole train of thought hang on. magic sneeze connection kinda thing but like
A is not a very sneezy person. no allergies, no sensitivities, probably doesn't even sneeze very hard, so pretty decent at holding back and stifling. their nose just is not ticklish at all.
B's absolutely is. they have ridiculous allergies, and they suck complete ass at hiding or stopping sneezes.
unfortunately, B has something of import they need to do. business meeting? fancy party? spy misson? who can say. so A offers this: they'll swap sensation for the day. B won't feel a thing, won't need to sneeze in the slightest, their nose won't even run. A on the other hand will feel, and be feeling, actively, everything B should be feeling, and vice versa. miserable, but tolerable for a day. the only downside?
their sneezes will be linked. even though B won't feel a hint of irritation, if A sneezes, B will too. every time. every single one.
but no problem! A's got the toughest nose this side of town, and they're fantastic at holding back or stifling or anything they need to do. it's just for a day, they can resist sneezing that whole time.
even if, with their perception of just how ticklish B's nose could possibly get being a bit skewed by their own lack of sensitivity, A may have underestimated what they'd be dealing with...
even if there just so happens to be something B is normally extremely allergic to around them, or something occurs to tease their usual sensitivities, and while B can't feel it at all, A is getting every bit of it... (heaven forbid, B, growing cocky with their newfound "immunity", leans into whatever would normally incapacitated them.)
surely A can handle it! it's only holding back an ever-increasing influx of every single point of irritation B would be feeling while they have no idea when the next surge of insane tickling will come, and the next, and the next... and it dawns on them pretty quick that if they let a single one get away from them, they WON'T be able to stop the rest.
(bonus points if A thought they'd be able to do some stuff of their own today and just play off the runny nose as the onset of a cold or something)
Pressed into a tight space with someone, getting physically intimate but staying quiet is a must. Their body is pressed tightly to yours, nose nudging just behind your jaw. Their sudden, whispered, "Need to sneeze..." is so crisp in your ear that you can feel the breathy, needy waver in their voice long before you hear it. Their chest stutters against you in tandem, and you're far too distracted to worry about what will happen if they do just as they say...
