No one has ever made money
making a skyrim tomodachi life island and so far everyone wants to fuck this guy.
Hamlet adaptation where Hamlet is a vlogger and all his soliloquies are breakdowns he uploads to YouTube
… I am unironically here for this
this is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my life
This is - legitimately - my favourite delivery of Shakespeare I have EVER seen (and I have seen some good-ass productions yo, in the Globe Theatre itself even). Like seriously, even though the words are unchanged, he’s stripped away ALL of the archaic pretense and assumed grandeur of ~presenting the bard~ that makes even the most wildly talented of actors and innovative of productions inherently inaccessible to a modern audience. Like, they’re still great, they can still communicate the message and (some) of the nuance, but they’re still always a step removed from being identifiable to any viewer’s lived experience. They’re still always reciting 15th century poetry. But this guy? This guy is like, screw iambic pentameter, to hell with being precious about the material, HOW WOULD AN ACTUAL PERSON SAY THIS SHIT?
Like this. And it’s beautiful. It’s beautiful to hear a soliloquy I loved so much already, and have it come to life in a way it never, ever, did before. I feel like I grasp his motivations, his twists and turns, no longer on an academic level but on a visceral, instinctive one. Because he’s presenting his mental and emotional journey in a way that speaks honestly, like a real person.
So yeah, this shit post? I love it. Deeply and sincerely.
A post about this went round recently, and I’m delighted to announce she’s since come out as trans and goes by Jasmine 🏳️⚧️
Actor and Writer
There’s a whole series of the Hamlet videos on her YouTube, as well as a bunch of other films she’s made
the existence of carnival barkers is not universally known anymore. We need to change this
grossed is such a weird way to describe how much a movie makes. how much did this movie yucky
My Name Is Human Hair
just found probably the most useful thing you can do with magelight in skyrim. Was fighting a dragon in the dark. lighting mods to make it more extreme. Couldnt see shit. For some fucking reason I decided to cast magelight AT the dragon. It stuck to the dragon and for the rest of the fight he had a glowing orb attached. big news in the "lighting mods make my world dark as shit" community
holy shit this works on ANY npc. I just magelighted Lucien. probably most useful on dragons but idk good to know ig

your ai art does not belong in the elder scrolls tag thank you for coming to my ted talk
the resurgence of Thin being In has made thin people so much more fucking annoying i keep seeing recipe and gardening videos or tiktoks that look good or are informative but the (very much thin!!) creators can't stop going "oh gotta get my FAT ASS to work in the garden!! 😂 making some tortillas because i'm a FAT LARD ASS, sorry for adding two tablespoons of oil to this i'm such a fucking BIG BACK FAT DIPSHIT aren't i 😂😂" are you not embarrassed
a lot of the time people talk about this as "self deprecation," and while i think there's a lot to be said about, well, why is fatness such an insult to you as to use it in your self effacement, i think the gleeful nature in which it's delivered betrays that it's much less about self-insult and much more about confirmation of the in-group. i think this is well illustrated by the way people will re-appropriate language around mental illness and substance use disorders, and most especially highly stigmatized diagnoses. when people call themselves "schizo" because they looked at their ex's Instagram, "ocd" because they showed up five minutes early, "a total crackhead" because they made a joke etc. it's typically not an expression of sincere negative self image or identification so much as a joke which presumes the absence of the referenced group; you're non-psychotic, i'm non-psychotic, and in the comfortable absence of anyone actually different, their life/identity/disorder/experience etc. can be used as a joking reference towards the other which, through hyperbole, affirms the norm; my experience of reality is so in line with psychiatric normalcy that asking you to text when you get home is so totally psychotic of me, an affirmation that my relationship to psychosis is so distanced as to make it more representative than anything. and in a similar way, fatness and fat bodies are so intentionally absent from these spaces that they're shouted out only as playful insults towards the behavior of skinny people, or at their most serious as a warding spell against the horror of gaining weight. when you have no fat friends, loved ones, lovers held in esteem in your mind, the idea of fat rolls or a belly or thick thighs are made references to bodies which are less human than symbol; calling yourself a "big back" when you eat works the same as calling yourself a "dog" when you express too much interest in somebody or a "snake" when you're duplicitous. we don't have to worry about offending them via the comparison, we can assume they're not present here. but isn't it funny that of all the traits and cultural products of fatness that are endlessly more praised and rewarded when taken up by our thin peers, even referencing your own body as fat is among them?
I really appreciate your analysis here OP because I find "self" depreciation to be the most insidious form of anti-fatness. I've lost count of the number of times people have told me I'm not allowed to react to an anti-fat comment because "she wasn’t calling YOU fat, she was calling HERSELF fat."
Inforcing the very strict and powerful anti-fat rules on yourself does give them more power over other people, and I'm tired of having to pretend it doesn't.
I know we’re all like lawless nonconformists but you really can’t be texting and driving. that’s one of the ones you’ve gotta listen to for real
Actually, no I’m not gonna keep my commentary to the tags.
This was my parents’ car after being plowed into by a pickup truck driver who was too busy on his phone to see the only other car on the rural road they were on. This crash nearly killed my parents, landed them in the hospital and rehab for months, and permanently disabled them.
PUT THE FUCKING PHONE AWAY WHILE YOU’RE BEHIND THE WHEEL. WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING ON IT IS NOT WORTH YOUR LIFE OR THAT OF ANOTHER PERSON’S.
“trans men don’t experience misogyny because they’re men thus cannot experience women’s oppression”
I hate to tell you this but even cis men experience misogyny if they step a toe over the line of what our incredibly sexist society sees as “proper” for a man. You really don’t think that a man with interests or expression the world sees as “female” aren’t treated with violence?
“would you say that of other privileged groups? do you think white people experience racism?”
I mean sometimes they do yeah. I know a white guy with monolid eyes and zero known Asian ancestors and he absolutely experiences anti-Asian racism on a fairly regular basis because people think he’s mixed Asian/white. I know a woman who was told throughout her life that she was Native as an adoptee with no known history or background who experienced incredibly violent amounts of anti-Native racism until she discovered as an adult through DNA test that she is 100% white. I know white people who tan incredibly dark in the summer comparatively that are constantly accused of being mixed race and experiencing racism due to that, usually anti-Mexican racism perpetrated against white people with Greek or Italian ancestors.
Their ability to make it stop by saying “hey, I’m white actually” only goes as far as the person enacting violence on them is willing to believe them. They still have to live with the trauma and physical scars from the altercations. We live in a racist world and thus there will be violent people who force all others to pass a whiteness test and eliminating or harming the rest.
Got an ask that I just block/deleted but it was basically “so you think cis people experience transphobia!?!?!?!?” and uh
If you think cis butches don’t experience both transphobia and misogyny and homophobia for daring to be women who break gender roles while still holding onto their womanhood you’ve sorely misunderstood just how bad butches have it in this world sorry. If you don’t think cis queens experience transphobia and homophobia and misogyny for daring to be men who break gender roles while being loud and proud about it and still holding onto their manhood then you’ve sorely mistaken just how bad they have it in this world as well.
Not to mention all of the cis men who wear dresses and skirts and makeup and nail polish and heels simply because they like them who experience all of these things. All of the cis straight women who simply just exist but something about them doesn’t pass society’s “woman enough” test, leading to them being caught in bathroom bills and sporting rules and being attacked by people who mistake them for being transgender or gay.
Just like how straight people experience homophobia to such a degree that they literally beat their children out of any potential deviance from rigidly upheld gender roles and let politicians make jokes on national TV about how they’d drown their pre-teen kids if they came out as LGBT. Do you really think a straight kid still figuring themselves out hears that and doesn’t internalize that homophobia? Doesn’t rigidly hold themselves to some impossible standard so that no one could ever possibly think they’re gay? You don’t think straight teenage boys who maybe don’t pass some bully’s straightness test are getting the shit kicked out of them for “being gay” when, surprise, they aren’t? You don’t think all those kids being attacked by their priests and coaches and teachers are being told “this wouldn’t have happened if you weren’t gay” when they’re literally not gay? Do you know how many straight kids had close calls at my school that famously expels all gay kids, because someone made up a believable enough rumor? Do you know how many of them still got their shit kicked in even though administration ultimately decided to let them stay?
All bigotry is violent and all bigotry catches people it doesn’t “intend” to and hurts them as well. It doesn’t matter what someone’s label is, or if they even have one. It matters if the person enacting the violence is doing it because their victim didn’t pass whatever “acceptable enough” test they didn’t know they were being subjected to.
Everyone is at risk. Oppression doesn’t care what your label is. Some people are more visible targets than others, and as a result those people are the more common targets. That doesn’t mean no one else experiences it.
My first post to reach 2k without people clowning in the notes I feel so proud
It's scary to be transgender in the world right now but if you're transgender I love you and we have to stick together and keep fighting and keep living and keep loving
reblog to give your headache to elon musk instead
I’d just like to point out the growth in this post has mostly coincided with elon’s public spiral downward and I’d like to think we’re all a small part of that
bro can’t think because he’s just got a rager of a migraine 24/7
yes I would like to give elon musk my menstrual pain. I think he deserves it
Reblog to also give Elon Musk your menstrual pain.
I'm giving Elon my chronic pain. you know, the chronic pain that gets so bad i frequently beg to have the painful leg amputated? yeah that's his now reblog to increase that chronic pain for him
