This was meant to be a calm, stress-free day and somehow, he couldn’t be bothered to view this odd situation as nothing more than a mild inconvenience. He may have been curious to who this person was but something told him that it was of no THREAT to him whatsoever; no fear meant that his way of handling this encounter would be far too lax for even his own liking. Portal hopping was something he is used to doing so he’s completely new to the idea of meeting others who could do the same, in different ways but alas, he’s far more concerned how they got in. Or where from.
His golden eyes flicker with a sort of unease at the utter of words, not directed at him but they were still heard. He almost wished he didn’t because now he’s starting to feel like he’s the one being a nuisance. It’s his house, why would he bother feeling bad? He sighs while brushing a hand through his dark locks and composing himself. Lawrence simply stays in silence, contemplating if he should speak but waits for a response. No such response was given, the King couldn’t even begin to process what next step of action should be done; he hadn’t the heart to even threaten them as they were far more confused and anxiety-ridden than he was. ❝ Ah….. ❞ A loss of words, truly this was not a great day for either of them but more so for the girl; too struck by the predicament given to her that she was somehow forced to avoid the question. He won’t pry but his curiosity never died.
A compliment to the manor at the most inopportune times? He almost found that amusing. Or he found it very much so. He couldn’t help but release a small laugh before coughing to clear his throat. It was unintentional, he’d remind himself. ❝ You’re strange, paying any mind to my home while you’ve taken a wrong turn somewhere—- ❞ He begins to process it, a hum and a slight rise of a brow. ❝ I assure you, nothing can really freak me out from everything I’ve been through. Can I just say that…. I know what it’s like, stepping outside your own realm ‘nd being completely lost. Somehow ending up in who knows where in the middle of some space desert—- I been through that too many times than I’d like to admit. ❞ A confession of sorts, he wonders if he should even give that bit of information of what he’s capable of yet he relates too much to not say so.
Somehow, her words did leave him feeling far more relaxed because it wasn’t like one of the neighboring kingdoms were trying to somehow create a disturbance on his land. Many ambassadors were having a hard time abiding by the alliances so he’d have no qualms to the awareness of danger he’s in. ❝ Accidental though, I don’t know what to say to that but perhaps that wishing you well and good luck would be best…. Ah, I suppose if you need them, I do have PORTALS you can use hidden away in the attic—- I don’t really use them as of late but if you require a way home, that’d be it. ❞ It’s a kind offer, considering everything. Before he could bothers to direct them, he had an idea at hand now. He walks a bit down the hallway, stops in his tracks to turn in their direction and holding out a hand to beckon them. ❝ If you don’t mind, would you at least stay for a meal before you go? My mother always said to feed their guests before they go off onto their next adventure. A simple hospitality, I assure you. ❞
The mentioning of him having gone through similar situations piqued her interest. While she was aware of others aside from Observers being able to do such a thing, it wasn’t usual to meet them. A lack of them, she’d been told when asking why there wasn’t much information on such people. It seemed as though, much like her kin, they preferred to keep their existence a secret. Or perhaps they resided in realms the Observers seemingly had yet to document or meddle with. “ I suppose that is reassuring to know. Luckily I’ve yet to end up in space deserts, instead just something out of a nightmare. ” Perhaps the delivery of such words could be considered alarming or weird, tone nonchalant as can be while shoulders shrugged as if she were talking about some mundane thing. Traversing to other worlds was most certainly not a normal thing and yet, she’d quickly grown accustomed to it all. Especially the nightmarish ones, so much so being in average or calm realms bothered her more.
“ ’ Portals ’ ? You just…have those ? ” Elexis would pause, wondering for a moment, “ They’re not doors that just lead to random places, are they ? ” If she were to return home she’d much rather not have to go through five different places to get there. For her there were only two sort of portals, the many ( almost sickeningly so ) doors that made up most of the Observers’ realm would lead to places she knew little of or completely half way across the earth from her home, and the ones simply referred to as ’ Cracks ’. The latter was a byproduct from realms becoming a bit loose, just enough that if someone wasn’t careful they’d be sucked in by it, ending up god knows where. Most humans from where she came from simply called them vortexes, and some even seeked them out, much to the displeasure of the Observers.
She’d stare at the extended hand for a bit, light blue eyes glancing up towards him as she’d contemplate. Not only had she become a bit hungry ( she was a stress / anxiety eater after all ) from all of this, but her curiosity about this place and world had begun to show. Perhaps it was an Observer thing, wishing to know of worlds not yet known by them even when more than a bit uneasy at the same time. “ I…suppose none of the others should get too concerned if I stay out a bit longer. Do you have any foods similar from where I come from, Earth or whatever you’d call it I mean ? Or do you also have your own unique ones too ? ” As they spoke they would take his hand, their tone and expression changing to a much more curious one now. They sort of wondered if he had a thing against a million question like games, cause as much as they would try to stop it, inquiring about things when in foreign worlds had quickly become a habit of her’s.
