A documentary about moving away from home and starting a new life
Ethics of author (ethos): Although it is not easy moving away from your loved ones there is always something new awaiting you.
Logic of information (logos): I talk about my own experience as well as the experiences as others that have gone through the same things. The people that interviewed also happen to be apartment-mates that have played a huge part in my adjustment in America.
Emotional reaction as audience (pathos): There are emotional aspects of the documentary, in fact it is a huge part of it. It begins with all of us on a sadder note reminiscing what kinds of things we lost and what we miss. However the documentary closes on a happier feeling.
at least 3 sound aspects (6 pts.) = 6
at least 2 image modes (4 pts.)= 4
some organizing narrative structure, e.g. build up, conflict, resolution (3 pts.) = 3
title and credits or citations (2 pts.)= 2
response to three of yours peers’ films posted to the appropriate forum by the correct deadline (3 pts.) = N/A
The second rough draft of my upcoming documentary! The update I put in this is to put is more of my story with photos and voiceover describing my own progress and change as well as how I grew from this process.
Step 1: I came across this painting at Zimmerli and I knew almost immediately that this was what I wanted to focus on. It as of a little girl that is in the collection of Guerrilla and this is artwork is also called ‘Guerrilla Girl’. It represents the inequality that different people face in everyday life which I felt was especially more meaningful these days. The tone was rather witty. I felt as though they took a serious issue and tackled in a way that wouldn’t downplay but would make it more approachable.
Step 2: Starting anew and leaving everything behind is like a internal guerrilla of readjustments.
Step 3: This guerrilla girl represents a little girl who is unfazed by the unfairness that the world gives her. This artist didn’t create a girl who was beaten down and defeated. The girl in the artwork has her dress intact and she does not have a sad expression on her face. She is a guerilla girl because she is undaunted by all the discrimination. In relation to my own documentary I show what kind of internal fight people may go through in order to fit and feel comfortable in a whole different place and culture. This is where I got the inspiration for my metaphor. I wanted show how the experiences that I went through of starting anew and leaving everything behind was an internal guerrilla.
Rough draft of my upcoming documentary!
