Bullet journaling after a long time 🦂
This is a background design assignment I did that I'm very fond of. We had to draw a haunted house, so I tried to incorporate my Kerala roots, and voila! Hope you like the result :)
Listen to music in that language. Listening to music in the language you are trying to learn surrounds you in the language and helps you develop a sense of how it sounds.
Watch TV and movies in that language. Listening to people have actual conversations in the language can help give you an idea of how it works. I recommend watching variety shows and children shows because the language is normally very basic. Plus, variety shows normally have certain words and phrases on the screen.
Use flash cards and take quizzes frequently. This helps you stay sharp with things you really need to know and remember. I personally don’t like flash cards, but when it comes to learning vocabulary, it can be a big help.
Practice writing and spelling. You can do this by writing daily in a journal. This can also help with forming your own sentences. Simply write about things like what you ate or what you did, or your thoughts in general. The more you write, the more comfortable you will be forming your own sentences.
Try speaking in the language whenever you get a chance. Do it with a friend who’s also learning or someone who already speaks the language. If you can’t do either one of those, you can practice by talking to yourself or an assistant on your phone. There are also apps such as hellotalk or kakao where you can talk to people. ALWAYS BE CAREFUL WHEN TALKING TO STRANGERS!!!
Learn words and phrases that you find yourself using often. Don’t try to learn advanced phrases and terms that you don’t use on an everyday basis. You may think it’s helping you, but it’s actually setting you back.
Learn more about the culture that surrounds the language. When you learn more about the culture, you will understand why certain things are said in certain situations. Understanding the culture = Understanding the language
Master the alphabet + pronunciation. Before you learn any sort of vocabulary or sentence forms, fully understanding the alphabet and each letter’s pronunciation is a MUST! In every language, there are those letters’ sounds that change depending on certain factors.
Master sentence structure. Sentence structure is a big problem that many people face when first learning a language. Chances are the sentence structure of the language you’re learning is the complete opposite from your own. (Unless you speak English and are learning Chinese; vice versa)
Become familiar with the keyboard. You will probably find yourself typing in the language often, so you might as well learn the keyboard. I recommend downloading a keyboard on your phone from the play store or app store.
Practice daily. When you do this, you’re bound to remember the information better. If you don’t and you stop studying for too long, there’s a high chance that you’ll forget some of the basics. I would know. It’s happened to me before.

Do me a favor okay? Stop trying to go back to who you were before. Before you were raped, before you got sick before an eating disorder took over your life. stop trying to be who you were five, ten, twenty years ago. Before the mental illness took over, before he died, back before your parents split or you lost your best friend.
You are NOT the same person as before. You never will be again. Give up the idolization of “before” and be who you are now. Be the you AFTER.
Thank you
no post on tumblr has ever hit me more than this whoa
1. First, compile a list of all your tasks. Take the time to make a full list and make sure that you don’t leave anything out. Don’t worry about the order just yet.
2. Understand each task completely. To do so, use the Who, What, When, Why, Where, How strategy. Ask yourself these questions
Who wants the work done
What do they want to be done?
When should the work be done?
Why does it fit here?
How will this work impact the deadlines of my other work
By using this process, you’ll fully understand what type of work is to be done, how you’ll do it as well as the time it will take.
3. Consider a few aspects. It can be difficult to prioritize when everything feels like a priority. So let’s break down each task and figure it out. You want to think about these aspects:
Importance: Consider the value. Take into account the positive results and what would happen if you didn’t complete it on time.
Effort required: Consider the time and resources needed
Urgency: Consider an upcoming deadline. What needs to be done today, in a week or two, a month?
4. Now rank your tasks. Use the table below as a guide. This way, you’ll be able to figure out which task should be your highest priority, your lowest and everything in between.
5.Set deadlines. Now that you’ve figured everything out. Set realistic deadlines and stick to them. Don’t use the same deadline that your teacher gave you. Aim to finish one or two days before that, maybe even less. But make sure you don’t rush.
6. Be flexible! You can try to plan everything, but somethings obstacles come in the way. You may forget your notes at school and have a power outage. So it’s important to be flexible and work around the issue. In case anything bad happens, re-prioritize and move on.

Engineering is stressful. Especially when it's not what your passion is. I'm constantly plagued by this fear that my time here has all just been a big mistake, and I have to keep telling myself that I have only one more year to power through.... Making my notes as pretty as I can.... So that I can at least feel like studying is the only thing that's kept me going so far.... But even that is sometimes tiresome.... And posting them is something I'm always overly anxious about..... Because of this pressure I've put on myself that my notes have to be beautiful.... And unique.... But still fit into this mould of what notes usually look like... I don't know I'm rambling at this point XD But right now.... I'm just scribbling down what I have to learn.... Not worrying too much about the colour scheme...... And that's OK. I don't have to be perfect. Not if it means losing myself in the process. (I know. I suck at posting. This isn't an excuse for not posting regularly... I never planned to make this a regular thing... Not that I have an audience to cater to 😅 I started this blog so I could share my experiences... What I'm doing to handle the mental burden of engineering.... And I've realised that I haven't done that. And I wanna start.)
Steven Hawking‘s life proves what we should all know to be true: that intelligence without compassion is meaningless, and that every person who is truly intelligent knows caring deeply for others is the smartest choice a person can make
Im surprised im actually surviving science? But i cant catch up with my notes 😣
