Removing Accounability and Calling Good Bad
When a choice makes a person miserable, some in society mistakenly (and some quite intentionally) teach that it is not the choice itself making the person miserable; rather, it is society’s rejection of the choice or society’s calling the choice bad that makes the person miserable. If only we called good what is bad and treated and talked about it as though it were good, then the person who is doing things that bring misery would not be miserable or suicidal. The blame for misery is thus mistakenly and deceptively shifted from both the actions and choices that bring misery and from the person who does them, and instead placed on those around him. He becomes a victim instead of an accountable actor who can change his life by changing his choices. Read the full article
