I have very normal feelings about your Eridian Grace AU, I love it a normal amount and I would love to have some very normal conversations about it. I do not bite.

Here's some fanart and thoughts

The grammar accuracy is flipped because the comic is made from the Eridian perspective. Grace is still learning how to use the language properly. He gets his tones mixed up but he knows all the right words to use.

He knows how Rocky refers to him and Adrian together but he has yet to clarify what it means exactly. (I imagine the Eridian language has something fun going on with pronouns and names considering how much Rocky goes back and forth between saying "Rocky" and "I" in the movie. He clearly isn't saying his full name most of the time. Adrian's full name is probably 5 pet names weaved together)

Grace wants to make his own stuffed animals because he misses softness of things. Even if the feelings are a bit more dull, it's the mental comfort that matters. He tries to remember the colours of the fabrics and uses the "seeing" texture tech, but it's imperfect and without seeing colours he'll sometimes get them wrong. Not that he can tell.

It's supposed to be a fox.

Sewing is a good dexterity practice for him (I'm gifting him this hobby because I also made stuffed animals before)

"Can you sing me more?" for "Can you tell me more?"

Grace still feels himself make human expressions, inside his mind.

I gave Grace the shape of the hair I usually draw for his humansona.

I think your AU is really cool, and I would like to be friends and talk about ideas and headcanons, if that would be okay with you ^u^

Sorry to talk about Harry Potter again but when it comes to the slave race that Rowling put in her books, she said she based the house elves off of brownies. You know, those creatures in British folklore that clean your house for you because they like doing it and are offended if you try to pay them?

Why not just put brownies in your story then? Almost identical effect without all the slavery.

If you wanna make the Malfoys look worse just idk maybe they put a spell on Dobby to bind him to their house and he can’t leave unless the malfoys break the rules and they’re bad to him but don’t technically try to break the rules until Harry tricks them into paying dobby with some clothes.

There. Problem solved. You can have hundreds of brownies living at hogwarts even. And when Hermione misinterprets their situation and tries to thank them and start paying them the brownies start getting offended and leaving and this causes an actual problem for the school. Much easier to make a subplot about not listening to the people that you’re trying to help.

Just another way you realize as an adult that these books weren’t really thought through very well.

the post went on to detail how he wants her to lose 40 pounds too (she frames it as being due to his interest in fitness and not the fact he is a loser) and all of the commenters are saying “hey, red flag, code red, all of this is bad, not a single good thing about him, he really sucks and he is making demands/setting expectations that are controlling and ridiculous” and she is making edit after edit defending him up and down despite being the one to ask the internet their opinion. I’d never tell anyone to stay quiet about their relationship because that is a surefire way to protect abusers but stop coming online to tell everyone about your evil boyfriend and then express defensiveness and misplaced anger at people giving you advice on an advice forum. just log off if you don’t like the advice.

Stratt is so much meaner in the book, when she tells Grace he's going on the mission, and I love it. It's so effective. Because Stratt isn't mean. Not to anyone else. She's brusque and ruthless, but she often chooses to be kind, when she can afford to be. She's not cruel.

Except in this one scene. She tears Grace apart, she lies to him to make it hurt more, because she's furious with him. Because he's disappointed her so profoundly. Because he couldn't do the right thing, and now she has to tear her heart out of her chest to do it for him. If he had only been brave enough to do the right thing, she could have said goodbye. Her last memory of her best friend could have been of somber solidarity, of pride in their shared purpose. But no. And now she has to live with the memory of him begging her for his life instead. She has to remember telling him no.
