I saw that photo tagged with Orso’s name and flipped out. Hugo also goes to Camp Bow Wow! They were gushing to me about having a new pem puppy but I didn’t know it was Orso! Hugo is going to be super happy to have another Corgi buddy at camp.

I’ve seen a lot of dogblr new puppy posts recently, just got me curious, who here is a single dog household?

I say household because while I consider myself to have three dogs, two are “family dogs” that live with my mom, and Rin is my first and only dog child (and not because she’s dog aggressive or anything, she loves other dogs and plays with the other two at my moms house). As of now, I have no plans in the near future of brining home another dog (plus my house mate will skin me alive especially since we’re renting lol).

Single dog household here. Not sure for how long, maybe for at least 5ish years, or maybe until Katie passes away. Because katie is pretty DS and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to introduce a pup to her safely… Oh well, that’s for future me to deal with.

I only have one dog right now, and even though we plan on adding another dog at some point (hopefully this year)….we’re not sure when exactly its gonna happen.

Ben died in the summer, so it’s just been Arlowe since then, financially it’s just not a good idea to get a new dog but man it’s hard to resist, might try fostering but I’m aa little worried about how that would affect Arlowe.

I was a single dog and single cat household until I moved back in with my mother, heh. I wouldn’t mind having another dog (and cat!) when it’s a viable financial and time option in the future.

I’m a single dog household (with 2 cats) unfortunately since the end of June 2015. This was a shock since I was hoping to have my lady for at least 2 more years and she looked so fit until her last days. Now the breeders of the little one are expecting a litter next month (Feb 2016) and I will see if any of the puppies makes me weak so then we might get a little cousin. if that’s not to be we will wait until 2017 when she is old enough to have a litter of her own where definitely 1 or 2 will stay.

I’m a single dog household (with two cats as well!). I would honestly love another dog and live in a state of 24/7 puppy fever, but I am no where near being financially able to have two :( And probably will never be as long as I have the cats as their medical bills never stop. I’ll just have to live vicariously through the multi-dog dogblr community in the meantime :P

One dog household here! After working at a vet and seeing how expensive treatment is for accidents and chronic illnesses, I can’t in good conscience add a second dog to the house. Plus Loki is dog aggressive and possessive of me so I doubt adding a second would be an easy thing to do at this time.

Hugo’s also an only pup! I will consider getting another dog (but not a puppy) if/when we move to another house. That’s a few years away yet I think.

I’m recyclable too since Max came from a person. I plan on being trash in the very far future though. Being clean is much harder than people think.

I got Dash from a “backyard” breeder (before I knew about responsible breeding). I am literal white trash.

Oh, well, we are trash 4 times over. Especially since 3 are from the same breeder who is now a wonderful family friend, and has been for over 13 years. At least we’re trash together :)

I spent six months researching breeders. I’m like a trash bag filled with a semester’s worth of homework and empty coffee cups. 

Also, the dogblr community has a really nice dumpster apparently. Look at all these great pieces of trash.

It was thundering outside for a little bit, and after a couple minutes Merry let out the most mournful yowl and slunk, belly to the floor, over to my desk. I cuddled him, and when he wanted to get down he sat right on my feet and was there until a minute ago. Now he’s hiding in the corner under his cat tree.

I want to know how everyone’s dogs wake them up in the morning!

I usually have 2 alarms set and snooze one last time after the second one. Once Max hears that third alarm go off, he jumps on the bed, climbs behind me and uses his whole body weight to try and push me off.

Merritt hears the alarm, yawns, shakes his head (and flaps those ears) and then pokes me in the face with corg snort.

After the alarm goes off Hugo gets off his bed and starts wandering around the room. He’ll find a new spot to lay down, flop as heavily as he can on the floor, then sigh dramatically. He may smack his lips or yawn loudly. This process then repeats every 30 seconds until I get out of bed.

Confessions of a Dog Owner

Sometimes I get frustrated when my dog seems to forget something I already taught her.

Sometimes I do the bare minimum.

Sometimes I let bad behavior slide because I’m too comfortable to get up.

Sometimes I hear a suspicious noise and pretend I didn’t hear it because it’s been a long day and I don’t feel like dealing with it.

Sometimes our walks are too short.

Sometimes I forget to be patient.

I don’t always do the right thing. I don’t always give it my all. I don’t always know what is best.

But I always keep going. I always try to do better. I always keep learning. And I begin and end each and every day with an, “I love you” and a hug and the promise that that love will only keep growing as time goes on.
