LOLLLL my answer is that it's complicated...

I'll be so for real, the reason I even started watching Teen Wolf was circa 2013(?) when I kept seeing gifsets on here of Derek trynna get Stiles to cut his arm off compounded by the amount of people who would post about them like they were actually canon... I literally thought they were deadass together. Then I watched the show with that in mind and imagine my surprise when there was nothing but like two crumbs, Derek was significantly older, and for some reason I found that I kept asking myself: if people want to ship Derek with anyone, why tf weren't they picking SCOTT bc they had a million times more scenes with like actual throwing against walls and tension and the whole beta and ALpha thing... anyway.

All that being said, I did read Sterek fics lol. But that had more to do with the fact that Sterek fics (on Ao3) were very popular at the time and written insanely well among fandoms (literally the stuff of scholars tbh). I've also read a lot of other teenwolf pairings. I don't read any of it anymore bc I've lowkey come to find sterek fanatics fucking crazy these days and every time I rewatch teen wolf i become more and more like ???? Derek and Stiles never really even became friends in the end wtf are ppl even seeing ???, but I've dabbled in the past and respect the hustle.

Did you ever consider making Jay and Issac date or did you always know that they were just gonna be fwb

I never thought about the dating route solely because I couldn’t see Jay having genuine feelings anyone other than Stiles (which is funny bc I could totally see Stiles liking other people lol). I wasn’t even sure of fwb until I actually got to the point where Jay knew he wanted Stiles and he knew Stiles wanted him but Stiles was still being annoyingly avoidant. And of course when I saw comments of ppl wanting a little something with Isaac before we got to Stiles. You’d think as an author I’d know the direction clearcut but most of the time the story kind of forms itself as I write.

Anyway, part of why I’d also say no relationship is that there was a lot of build up of trust and care with Stiles to get Jay there, and then vice versa there was a lot of Stiles’s own weird insecurities that needed to be settled—both of which made a compelling long term story where I could see myself writing different angles of their relationship through all the seasons. Isaac and Jay were very simple with their tragic backstories right in your face (take it or leave it you know what you’re getting into type of thing).

But admittedly, before Stiles got the vote as the love interest, it was between Allison and Isaac. Loved the idea of exploring a HalexArgent pairing in a different way than most fics with that concept did, and I could’ve probably made something as entertaining and compelling with lsaac too if i wrote things completely different with the conclusion of Jay being 3b as well.

Argent was fumbling with an armful of groceries just as they split up. One of the bags slipped from his grasp and hit the pavement with a dull crunch. "Had to be the one with the eggs," he muttered with a wince.

To anyone else, it would've looked like a perfectly normal moment. A guy dropping groceries and complaining about it. Scott didn't blink an eye and even winced along with him as he crept closer.

Jay knew better.

It was obviously a ploy.

Argent's gaze lingered on Jay's hand a second longer, watching the skin smooth back over like nothing happened, leaving only streaks of red behind. When he looked up again, Jay was already staring at him, the overhead light catching on the lenses of his glasses creepily.

Argent could've sworn they reflected like a dog's at night.

"Or are you done with that now?" Jay asked thoughtfully. "Because, I mean... our other option is getting Allison's help, but her inexperience is probably going to get her killed." He pulled out his phone and made a show of pulling up her contact. "So if you're fine with that, I guess you can walk away."

A beat. He looked over the bridge of his glasses to raise an eyebrow.

"Like a coward."

Argent's teeth gritted together loudly.

Scott wished he could drown himself in the blood puddle to get away from this conversation.

I know you always post about feeling bad about not updating, but it's kind of crazy how all your chapters are around 20,000 words. And before your hiatus, you used to update every week if I'm remembering correctly. That's actually insane. I think you deserved the break tbh! I love Good Grief so much, it's like my comfort book 🤟🏼💘

aww thank you for reading!!!! i always worry that bc of the length people will get bored mid chapter and drop it but i'm glad to be proven wrong.

honestly, i have literally no idea how i've written so much in the past. i was even doing full time uni (specifically my capstones iykyk) back when i was at my writing peak, churning out chapters every ten days and editing in class. i used to write every single day for at least an hour and usually manage (at the very least) 2k words every time. it was insane, but it made me so happy to continue the story and see where Jay would end up.

i'll never stop saying it, but i'm so proud of Good Grief and the quality of it despite it just being some silly fanfic on wattpad. it's some of my best writing even if it makes me cringe looking back lmao. i even recognize some of the users who vote/comment frequently since the early days, so that's always fun. i always look forward to seeing comments or getting asks like these--it's just so heart warming.

and that's also why i dont see myself ever abandoning it. the entire process of planning, writing, posting, and seeing the reception is just too precious to me❤️

I know everyone has been asking for a glass heart updated but I was wondering if you will continue updating sacrifice. That story is genuinely one of my all time favorite fanfics and I would love to know if it has been discontinued.

Not discontinued! It’s just quite a heavy story to write, so I really need to be in the right focused headspace to make it good. Lots of references to the symbolism and stuff from earlier chapters too, so I also always have to reread it in order to continue.

That being said, it’s actually my most planned out story so I already have the most hard hitting plot beats mapped out, it’s just a matter of how I’m gonna connect and write it all.

Wrote some stuff for it today, though! Trying to find my Ares voice again🤞

Does Jay take good care of his glasses or do they get smudgy af and has to have them cleaned all the time and has he ever broken them?

Forgot to answer this lol but it lowkey inspired the smudged glasses lines in the latest chapter about how he kind of liked looking through the smudges bc it felt like a protective shield to what’s going on on the outside.

Otherwise I’d say he’s pretty anal about keeping them nice, clean, and pristine. It keeps his newfound carefree and breezy persona intact. Having them messed up would ruin it all (again, reference to the latest chapter but it’s like the glasses themselves are a mask in a way).
