BIG GIANT EASTER EGG THEORY!
so, you know how tayor said the whole video in itself was a giant easter egg? and how we missed the biggest easter egg? WELLLLLLLL
what if she meant that the whole video represents the album. there are 13 scenes in the video, which would mean 13 tracks. i’m kinda stretching the scenes but mainly there would be 9 MAIN SCENES. imo, there are 13 ig “sub-scenes”
the video starts with the snake scene
as we all know, the snake turns into a bunch of butterflies. this is obviously the introduction to the album as she sheds her snake skin and goes through meTAYmorphasis
next is the fight scene
this could be a crazy good love ballad. we never got any calvin songs, maybe she had to put them on hold for reputation?
next is the hallway AFTER THE FIGHT
taylor’s facial expression dramatically changes as she sings “i promise that you’ll never find another like me” i think this scene represents her coming out of a bad relationship and realizing she deserves to be happy as she walks out (this could be ME!, but i feel like it’s more of another scene)
next is the cloud scene
she claims she went “physco on the phone”. this is most likely a nod to the infamous “taylor can’t come to the phone right now”. this song could be about her regrets during the reputation era.
next is the pant-suit scene in the house
this one might be a stretch, but it could be about how hard it was to remained poised and professional with everyone going on in her life. sort of like a battle with her inner self
next we have the street scene
as many have said, the streets look like the wizard of Oz. this could be a song about her journey to stardom or “Oz”.
Next we get a shot of brendon coming out of the balcony
i think this one is about how guys always come back to her. after they had the big fight, he got to see how happy and contender with herself she was, and he couldn’t resist her confidence
next is the BENJAMIN BUTTON SCENE
this scene could be about many things (maybe cats) but my main theory is that everyone is trying to please her with material things, but in reality all she wants is friends and love
next we have the 50s heart scene?
this song could be about the rush of performing. in the music video they purposefully let us hear fans screaming and cheering and crying. maybe this is about touring
next we have SPELLING IS FUN
this song is either ME! or about her childhood. we haven’t had a song about taylor’s childhoood since speak now, and she’s probably thinking about it and her future now that she’s been dating joe for so long and is in her late 20s
next is the weird kaleidoscope dimension thing?

this scene is very choreographed and WITH A PARTNER! this could be about how well her and joe work together and how much she loves him
the last scene with paint and stuff
this scene is hard to form a theory about. the only thing i can think of is the media “painting an image” of her that’s not true, and joe is there to cover her with the umbrella and show that he knows the true her.
