How to fold a pocket square in 4 easy steps:
1. Choose a pocket square. With a TV fold, handrolled edges are critical as they’re the main bit that shows. Structured fabrics like linens, cottons and stiffer silks are ideal as they stay nice and straight.
2. Fold the square in half twice along the same edge, so that the width of this edge fits just right into your breast pocket’s width. You may need to fold it a little more or less if your breast pocket is smaller or bigger. The handrolled edges will eventually be on the top edge.
3. Fold the square upwards twice, such that the eventual length is about 1cm (3/8”) more than the depth of your breast pocket. The extra 1cm ensures that the square will not sink into your pocket throughout the day.
4. Place the square into the pocket and adjust the length if necessary by folding it more or less. All set!
