I really like to imagine the relationship between Ahsoka and Obi-Wan. Like he's her Jedi-Grandpa. Grand-Master. He'd teach her Dejarik and Anakin would sit beside them while they play, chin in his hand, saying "I don't know how you have patience for this stuff. If you want strategy just look at the battlefield."

And Obi-Wan might chide him gently. "Because this is a game, Anakin. There are no casualties in this strategy."

Ahsoka mutters a quiet "Yeah, I don't know. I'm feeling pretty dead right now." While looking at the tangled mess on the Dejarik board. She appears to be losing in seven different ways.

Obi-Wan smiles. "You almost got it. Keep considering all possibilities."

Ahsoka squirms. "I am! And every outcome is the same, me, dead!" She runs her hands down her face and Anakin laughs.

"Okay. I'll admit, that does sound familiar." He says.

"And what do you do in those situations?" Obi-Wan asks them both.

They look at each other and then back at him.

"Give up?" They tease.

This time Obi-Wan opens his mouth, pauses, and then grins before saying, "If I am your opponent, then maybe. But no. You keep trying, that's the point of fhe game."

Anakin leans across to Ahsoka and whispers. "I say steal his pieces and make a run for it."

"Master!"

"Snips."

"A-hem," Obi-Wan raises a brow. "Focus, please."

And they just smile at him sheepishly like they were caught considering a very bad idea which he'd (despite himself) really would want to see play out.

The Real Reason Obi-wan Kenobi Hates Flying

Recently I found out there is apparently a book out there that “explains” why Obi-wan hated flying. I’ve never read the book but read several summaries, and the idea that at some point he accidentally flew at high speed through narrow halls just doesn’t do it for me (I’m sure the book is lovely, though). No, I think the real reason is: Obi-wan suffers from G-induced vestibular dysfunction (GIVD).

Let me ‘splain you a thing, complete with screen examples and scientific backup.

ACCOUNT HACKED?!

It has come to my attention that there have been several occasions in the last month or so where my account has been accessed in Kansas. I've never been to Kansas in my life. So if you see any weird posts, comments, etc. under my account or username, it is NOT ME and please forgive anything hackers may have done in my name. I will never ever leave crude or rude comments or send weird pics or anything else like that! I am currently revamping passwords, updating the authenticator app I've been using, and a few other security measures.

ALSO I just wanted to write a quick note to anyone that checks this blog that I've been getting tagged in weird comments from bots/spammers leaving links on other people's posts. Obviously I am not affiliated with any of them and don't know why I've been tagged. DON'T CLICK ANY LINKS in spammy comments! Shouldn't need to be said but there it is.

I don't like the idea that Anakin and Mace disliked each other, I actually think it's very important that when Obi-Wan wasn't there Anakin went to Windu first in ROTS. And that Windu took him seriously, and went to arrest Palpatine. I think it's telling that Windu seems to immediately realize how Palpatine has manipulated Anakin, and how he tells Anakin not to listen to him. When Anakin helps kill Windu, Anakin considers that his point of no return. There's a relationship there that was not at all built on contempt or malice, but Windu seems to worry more for Anakin than he ever did fear him.

Look, I love the "212th Gold" as much as the next person, but I think we really need to start appreciating the symbolic themes you can have with the color Orange.

Orange, the color of fire, of the sun. Orange is the color of warmth, and the hearth, and safety. The leading light. The color rage and destruction, and hunger, and fierceness. The 212th men are men of fire.

We see it in Waxer and Boil being the guiding light to safety for Numa. The care and warmth they brought her when she was scared and alone in the dark.

We see it in the feral need to win. Fists and legs equal weapons along side their blasters. Ready to throw their bodies onto the enemy, "If I go down, I'm taking you with me." Bruised and broken hands clenched tight ready to continue burning their way through droids, determined to live another day.

We see it most of all with the 212th's own Marshal Commander Cody. A sunburst printed on his chest with pride. The sun is the leading force of nature. It brings life, it brings safety, it brings warmth. The sun burns bright, and dangerous, flares lashing out ready to incinerate anything in its orbit.

Orange is the wistful hope of the sunrise and the blazing glory of the sunset.

Orange is the color of the 212th Attack Battalion.
