For Kakashi & Akira

Annoyed. So annoyed. So very very annoyed. Why was she so annoyed? At because of Kakashi. Okay, Kakashi had always annoyed her in the past, specifically when they were still children and ore teens, but this was a different kind of annoyance.

Was it because he seemed so oblivious that the two Kunoichi he and Gai were currently speaking with were flirting with him? Or the fact it was so obvious that anyone could figure it out from miles away?

She shouldn’t be annoyed. Not in this way. But she was and anyone around her could probably tell. Still she swallowed that feeling before she took a step forward to approach the group.

“Nyeh Nyeh.” Akira greeted in her usual way. “Seems like you two have a lot of free time lately.” 

With Naruto off training with Jiraiya and Sakura training under Tsunade, Kakashi did seem to have a lot of free time on his hands lately. Probably why Gai was there too.

It wasn’t too rare for Asuma to go out on missions with his siblings.  Sometimes, these missions together were the only time they had to catch up.  This mission had just been Asuma and Akira that took a few days.  No injuries or anything too eventful had happened on the mission and it was a success.

Yet, things seemed off as soon as the two returned to the Village.  The looks that the siblings were getting seemed to be filled with far more concern or sympathy than would be expected for the condition they were in, so something else must have happened while they were gone.  

“Things seem off, don’t they?”  Asuma pulled a cigarette from his pocket before glancing towards Akira.  He wasn’t one to get overly paranoid over things, but something was giving him a bad feeling.

   The mission itself only took the siblings a few days and to Akira, it hadn’t been that hard. It had been a while though, a while since she had gone on one with Asuma. Though it had been just as long as she had seen him. 

Things between him and their father were complicated and she understood why he avoided returning home at times. Still, it was good to catch up with him.

“Hm...” Akira had taken notice, true people tended to stare at them, but never like this. No, she had seen stares like this before, but when. 

“I wonder if something happened while we were away.” She didn’t like the feeling her gut was suddenly giving her. Though she was sure if it was anything bad, they’d know about it soon enough.
