ADVANCED DIPLOMA (ACCREDITED COURSE)

Ever wondered what you need to do to become a Steiner Teacher? Are you a recent school leaver or someone wishing to change direction in your life?

You can study the Advanced Diploma in Rudolf Steiner Education as a 2 year full time course or part time equivalent. The course is fully accredited (course code 10527NAT) and is highly regarded by Steiner School looking to employ suitable teachers. You may be granted Recognition of Prior Learning by a number of leading universities around Australia once you have completed the Advanced Diploma. Slightly more than one third of the units comprising the degree may be recognised by the University as having been completed in your Advanced Diploma.

EXPLORING ANTHROPOSPHY (NON-ACCREDITED COURSE)

Are you wanting to explore the ideas and teachings of Rudolf Steiner?

This course is designed for people wanting to explore the ideas and teachings of Rudolf Steiner for their own personal development or as a foundation for other specific trainings such as Healing or Beauty Therapies, Massage, Biodynamic Farming, Counselling, Special Education, Speech and Drama, Visual Arts.

It offers a deeper understanding of the human being within the context of evolving world history giving new perspectives on one’s own life tasks

It specifically offers the Warrah Experience – a Rudolf Steiner organization dedicated to enriching the lives of people with special needs. While other students are doing their teaching practicum in Steiner schools you would have the opportunity to learn about and participate in the various activities at Warrah – special education, residential care and biodynamic farming.

This course could appeal to people - looking or a new direction in life - thinking of other Steiner trainings - parents with children in Steiner schools who want to understand more about the underlying philosophy.

Marionette Puppetry Workshop with Belinda Flynn

Puppetry can bring magic and reassurance to children and adults.

“Some say that the marionette is the best puppet type to portray the elegant fairy tale stories.  Perhaps this is because these mystery tales portray the evolution of the human soul, and the marionette depicts the human condition with such grace and uprightness” – Suzanne Down Puppeteer.

The workshop will be structured to include:

Day 1 – Marionette puppet story & introductory talk, exploration & choosing of   stories, materials & set design, dyeing of silks.

Day 2 – Focus on Puppet making.

Day 3 – Preparation of props and set with rehearsals and culminating in the     presentation of each story.

The workshop will go ahead depending on the response received so please feel free to pass on information to family and friends. If the workshop is postponed there will be a complete refund.

We are calling for people to register their interest for a proposed 3 Day Marionette Puppetry Workshop in September 2015.   Due to the specialised and intensive nature of this craft & art we are gathering interest before finalising details.

Proposal for ‘Marionette Puppetry Workshop’ 3 day workshop facilitated by Belinda Flynn. Friday 18th - Sunday 20th September . What is Meditation?

“Meditative, contemplative exercises are created & given to develop free soul capacities that are not dependent on the outer self, on our bodily nature. Free soul capacities are developed through exercises that are independent of our past, our conditioning, temperament, and gender. These exercises offer us the possibility of waking up to the journey of the evolving soul.“

Why Meditate?

"Evolution is taking place for all humanity. Through meditative exercises we proceed on this journey with greater clarity & speed, for we are not as liable to be waylaid by the forces of the unconscious, the forces of materialism & egotism, & the forces of the unconscious, the forces of the great sleep of forgetting who we are & why we are here. It is not that through meditation we will avoid these forces; in fact, meditation will speed up our encounter with & understanding of them. True meditation leads us through the journey that all of humanity will at some point take. Foundations of Meditative Practice with Lisa Romero

This course describes how and why various meditations and exercises work to strengthen the soul and its relationship to the spiritual world. Rudolf Steiner gave many exercises and meditations to strengthen the human being through its journey of developing consciousness. Together we will explore the inner work, the birth of the higher self, the spiritual year and how exercises can bring us closer to our own experience of these processes. This will enable us to both hold and further our daily practices. Those wishing to establish a meditative life and long-term meditants have found this work invaluable in deepening their relationship to the path.

LISA ROMERO is a complementary health practitioner and adult educator who has applied anthroposophy to her practice since 1990 and delivered  education enriched with anthroposophy since 1998.  From 2006 the primary focus of her work has been teaching inner development and anthroposophical meditation. Steiner Books has published her books: “The Inner Work Path — A Foundation for Meditative Practice in the Light  of Anthroposophy” and “Developing the Self –  Through the Inner Work  Path in the Light of Anthroposophy“.

Essentially Lisa’s work springs from the inner work, meditation and exercises together with a dedication to the path of unfolding consciousness.  She brings a depth of insight that is reflected in the experiences and changes of the participants who share in this work.

DISTANCE EDUCATION COORDINATOR

SYDNEY RUDOLF STEINER COLLEGE

This position has responsibility for the overall managementof two part-time Distance courses in Rudolf Steiner Education.

We envisage an applicant who has excellent organisationaland communication skills and enjoys a varied position with responsibility. Good computer skills and some background in Rudolf Steiner education or Anthroposophy are also essential.

8 hours per week

This is a unique position in our College as it allows for some work at home and some in the office, in the Sydney CBD.

 We provide 2 hours a week of administrative support for this position.

Currently the College offers the accredited Advanced Diploma of Rudolf Steiner Education and non-accredited courses in Steiner Distance Education and Early Childhood Teaching, and Short Courses in Anthroposophical Studies.
