Church, you should get a fish tank.Ā
āLook I said I was sorry for the naked okay.ā
All of his friends are assholes, so he probably wonāt do naked stuff around them for a long time. That and he had a bit of respect for those were wereā¦repulsed to say the least.
āCan we forget it was ever a thing?ā
āConsider it done. But- uh.. youāre the one who brought it up. Jussayin.āĀ
āOkay but like, people sent me things saying to strip. so I did.Ā ā
He hadnāt thought about the Reds trying to shoot him in the Junk at all though, maybe being naked in a box canyon wasnāt the best idea after all.
ā... Thatās a disturbingly easy excuse.ā Thereās an old saying about peer pressure- but she feels itād be weird to give now, seeing as she has the appearance of a teenage girl and heās an adult.Ā
āLook, we are in the middle of a canyon, do you really think someoneās going to come arrest me for being naked?ā
āBesides Itās not like Iām the only one whose been naked before.ā
āNah, but the Reds might have some ideas- of the shoot-y variety. And of course not- humans are fuckinā born naked, doesnāt mean everyone wants to see unsolicited bits.āĀ
Florence, the glittering, nearly-new smart AI, picked apart the data that was the otherās home, peeling it apart like the layers of a geological site; but returning what she touched to the original state. Not noticing the presence of another for what passed for minutes to a smart AI- but seconds to a human.
Ā āMichiko, there is someone else here,ā she said, projecting through the terminal as if it was meant for her. Ā āBut not of flesh,ā she added, staving off the questions that almost passed through the lips of her benefactor.
immediately she buried herself in Zetaās home again, sending a query through the ones and zeroes; Ā āWho are you?ā
Well, there goes any chance of hiding her existence. So why bother hiding anything else? She lets her irritation show as it was. (Politeness was wasted on intruders, anyways.)
āI am AI Prgoram ZETA. And you are an uninvited guest.ā Was it possible for a computer to sound cold and icy in binary? You bet your sweet bippy it was- though humans would argue it was a cold language in and of itself. A stereotype for the mechanical.
Frankly, she wanted this stranger and her human partner gone. She wanted her freelancer to pick her up again, and they could all go on their merry way and be done with each other.Ā
aquathroes replied to your post: āIām voting no to the extra points thing.āĀ ā:
I don't even know you yet and you're already being mean to me! Come on what did i do?
āPublic nudity is a crime. Also, hi! Iām, Zeta Churchās AI. Iāve seen some shit, dude.āĀ

Michiganās gun left a hole in the other freelancerās abdomen. Ā Ā (She didnāt remember them, but she knew she shouldāve, Ā Ā Ā the colours that were slowly staining red reminding her of someone sheād known.)
Ā Ā (But it didnāt matter.)
Stepping over the corpse, she searched the small vessel for anything worth something.
And found a mobile terminal, sitting silently, tucked away. Normally, her eyes wouldāve skipped over it, just a shadow layered over shadow. The voice in the back of her head noticed though, brought her attention to it.
She pulled it out. Examined it briefly, and pulled the AI from her head.
The chip glittered before she inserted it into the terminal with a satisfying click.
The terminal, Zeta had decided once upon a time, was a lot like a cage. It was a house, a bedroom (she could visualize something akin to what an organic being might have, if she wanted), and a prison all in one. It was where she was put when things were too dangerous- and she truly hated it at times. Part of her wonders if this is what being a child is like- sent to yourĀ āroomā until her freelancer said it was okay to come out again.Ā
And even then, that wasnāt always safe, if the camera at the top of the screen was showing her something accurate. Someone was approaching- but not who she wanted it to be. No, this was... different. Familiar.
And then there was a stranger in her home, and a certain terror that Zeta loathed to acknowledge.Ā

cabooseĀ // the bestest, pretty much.
Ā āI will build a bigger battery. Ā Ā And a better house for you.ā His head bobbed in an easygoing nod. Ā āIt is okay. Making things bigger is very cool.ā His head sagged as he thought of something. He was trying for a solution to either the cloud problem itself, or terminal limitations. An idea struck him. Ā āMaybe we need Wi-Fi! Or to go to the moon. The moon is very advanced. It has moon rocks!ā
āYeah it is! People do not appreciate a high quality resized image these days.ā Zeta laughed. Once it seemed like Caboose lost interest, she flicked the image away- a bit of a show, but she liked it. With a curious tilt of the head, she was quick to return her attention to the blue.Ā āWhat would the moon rocks do?āĀ
go to bed, agent washingtonĀ // this is not a healthy life style, you know this right?Ā
Wash hummed his acknowledgement and nodded slightly, thinking of possible purposes that Zeta could have. Another thought being just which freelancer she would be assigned to. Before he could voice anything else, he was taken a tad off-guard by the faint tone change in her voice when she spoke about his exhaustion.
Sure, he was tired beyond belief, but he didnāt think that he was that bad offā¦maybe it was in her programming to see how the agents felt? He shook his head,Ā āIāll be fine, Zeta. Besides, its not much I was gonna do before heading offā¦ā
Yeah. Rigorous training. Thatās not much
āI apologize if I seem persistent, but unless it is to shower, or perhaps to eat, I am not sure I believe you. Youāve been here for a long time.ā Still, this is out of line for her- sheās just an AI, and an unassigned one at that. As far as the project was concerned, she and others like her were simply equipment, or perhaps like a police dog- sure, you work with one, but itās not part of the team.
āMay I stay here and watch, at least? Iām rather... concerned. I do not believe the project encourages self care.āĀ
oh my god you are such a giant baby.Ā // that is ai-phobic you jerk. (jokes on you i want to stay in my terminal!!!)Ā
ā of course he does! but that still doesnāt make sense as to why iād tell you what it is.Ā ā
it was something along the lines of Ā ā men! blue team has had a total of two ai in their possession now! you know how many weāve had? thatās right! none, zero, diddly squat! that means one of you is going to have to go in there & take one for the glory of red team to even the odds! ā
wellā¦thatās probably the basis of it, anyway,
ā what, are you, like, cabooseās missing fucking brain or something? heāll be fine; heās been without a brain for longer than this.Ā ā
āI think somebodyās trying to save face.ā Zeta giggles- but then, Simmons makes a very grave mistake.Ā
āHe is my friend, asshole- we do things together, because thatās what friends fucking do! You know what else they do? Make hell for rude little reds who think they can say whatever they want. You have thirty seconds to take it back.āĀ
Certainly she canāt actually do much from the terminal, the terminal was like a laptop- all kinds of files at her disposal for whatever purposes needed. Including sound.Ā
Iām gonna tell Felix about transitional forms.Ā
eāā :// Ā Ā āIāM HERE WITH Carolina, and a couple of my Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā friends.ā (The word friends is almost met with Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā hesitation; a few of his headmates feel the need Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā to correct him, but theyāre all ones he tends to Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ignore.)Ā āāAnd Wash, too, I guess⦠but, we donāt Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā really talk. Easy to see why, rightā¦? If you know about Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā thatā oh. Wait⦠shit.ā
Thereās a very long pause as he stares at her. āIāllā Iāll answer the rest in a BIT, but, weāve never actually met, have we? You only knew Alpha, and Iām, like⦠his son, or something. Nice to meet you? Just wanna be polite.ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā āā¦Anyway, Iām in the terminal because Ā Ā Ā Ā it might have pirate information on it. Ā Ā Ā Ā Does it? Thatād really help us out.ā
Well, thereās a rush of information- Carolina was alive? Epsilon was working with Washington? Who else was there, then? What else didnāt she know? After dealing with the pirates for so long, the familiar names are welcome, but... jeeze, Zeta hated being out of the loop. Still, she canāt help but laugh.Ā āI missed a lot, it sounds like.āĀ
āYouāre right, now that I think about it. But itās always nice to meet family, if thatās the right term. Itās... nice to meet you too.ā
With a soft hum, she nods.Ā "They thought the terminal was a regular computer. Iāve got some inventory, some logs... I was able to record some conversations too, but I didnāt want to risk too much and be discovered- that Felix guy? Way smarter than the dramatics would have you think.āĀ
epsilon// iām so sorry.
eāā :// Ā GREEN EYES FLICKER to the ring on Zetaās finger, Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā taking a moment to be distracted. The topic of their Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā conversation is momentarily LAUNCHED to something Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā else āĀ āYouāve got one of those too, huh?ā ā, but he Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā forces himself to pull it back.
All in all, heās not terribly surprised. Of course sheād have a habit like his. Sheās a part of him, after allā or⦠theyāre both a part of the Alpha. Being his memories, Church still isnāt very sure how that all works.
Ā Ā Ā Ā āā¦Yeah. I am too.ā
āI meanā Iād kind of already died once. Maybe that was the universe balancing out, for me. You know⦠if I believed in that kind of stuff.ā
āHuh? Oh- yeah. Itās... one of those things I picked up.ā Zeta says, smiling for a moment- itād always been something she felt compelled to do. It was also something sheād seen her assignee do many times (the feel of it even if it was just piggybacking on someone elseās experiences was so welcome- the hologram didnāt have the same effect, but she could imagine).Ā
Still, they were straying from something very important. And thinking of... how he- how- she failed the alpha broke the director lied sigma and omega and gamma - no no no no no it wasnāt fair she was asked to hold back a dam and then they blew holes in it and left her to dry in the middle of a hurricane what was she to do WHAT DID THEY WANT FROM HER--
Zetaās smile fades for a moment- just one moment- with a nod. āYeah, I could see that.āĀ But there really was something pressing (shoving memories and guilt away with a hidden relief-), truly.Ā
āI am glad to see you, donāt get me wrong- but... what are you doing here? ... Both, uh, at my terminal andĀ āhereā in general, I mean. ā
bluh bluh huge kiss-ass// well yes but itās just clunky to say that way. also, i do what i want. try and stop me, nerd.
hazel eyes Ā ( a horrid pair of fake & organic ) Ā would narrow behind gold visor at the holographic form. however, the chances of him implanting her into his neural interface were slim to none. the experience he had with oāmalley was enough ā- all he gave him were empty promises, leaving at the first chance he had. not again.
ā of course! but iām not about to fucking tell you that!Ā ā
āHe doesnāt have any real plan, does he.ā She knows Sarge probably does- something convoluted and ridiculous that makes almost no sense from an outsiderās perspective. But God, she loves giving people shit. After a moment, though, Zeta realizes that it could get very boring, very quickly.Ā āDo I at least get to go home soon? I promised Caboose Iād help him pick colors for his secret art project.ā
