These are 2625x3500 digital illustrations, done 100% on Ibis Paint X, and here is The step by step of how I (DON'T DO IT LIKE ME, I AM WEIRD, DO IT LIKE YOURSELF) to render skin to make It look wet/oiled up, ✨Contrast✨, The highlights get Very White and reflective, and we love that for him~
The best bird boi deserves some love, too! While he isn't my favourite I understand why he is liked so much. So here it is. Absolutely random, in no particular order. :3
- He is definitely the type to leave little shiny things on your desk as gifts but will deny it if confronted. "I have no idea how that bottle cap got there"
- By now you have a whole collection
- His laugh is actually really nice. Like when he genuinely laughs (rare) it's kind of raspy and warm and makes you feel Special™
- Runs cold. Always. Will steal your warmth and pretend he's not literally draping himself over you like a temperature vampire
- Has the worst case of resting sad face. Could be thinking about his favorite food and still look like he's contemplating the death of the universe
- Love language is acts of service but make it ominous. Your enemy? Handled. That problem? Solved. You didn't ask? Doesn't matter.
- Terrible at verbal affection but will remember every single tiny detail you mention in passing. Casually references something you said three months ago
- Gets weirdly protective but tries to be subtle about it (he is not subtle)
- If you fall asleep near him he will put his cloak over you and then act like it's no big deal
- The kind of partner who listens to you vent and then goes "Want me to handle it?" with the most ominous smile
- Actually really good at braiding hair. Those fingers are very useful for... many things
- Collects interesting feathers. Has a whole drawer of them organized by color and size (the organization system makes sense only to him)
- Enjoys sitting in high places. Will perch on things not meant to be perched on
- Secretly loves when you play with his hair but will turn to stone if you mention it
- Has definitely stole some of your clothes before. It's his now. He's attached.
- Makes tea perfectly every single time and acts like it's ancient sorcery when really he just pays attention
- The type to do tasks at weird hours. 4am dishes? Sure. Midnight laundry? Why not
- Leaves little notes instead of texts. They're always either really sweet or really cryptic, no in between
- Remembers your schedule better than you do
- Can cook exactly three (3) meals really well and acts mysterious about it
- Tilts his head when confused (you know the bird head tilt)
- Brings you "gifts" that make sense only to him. Rocks. Interesting bones. A really good stick.
- Gets oddly fascinated by shiny things but won't admit it
- Makes pleased little sounds when content (will die before acknowledging this)
- Preens. Everything. Fussy about appearances but in a caring way
- Nests. His spaces have so many soft things arranged just so
- Traces patterns on your skin absentmindedly when you're close. Doesn't realize he's doing it
- His hugs are full body engulfing situations. Like being wrapped in a protective shadow cocoon
- Kisses your temple/top of head more than your lips because it feels more intimate to him
- Gets flustered if you kiss his palms or wrists. Those are vulnerable spots
- Will gently bump his forehead against yours as a greeting when no one's watching
- Plays with your fingers when he's thinking. Just fidgets with them softly
- Sleeps better when you're nearby but will never admit he's been sleeping horribly when you're gone
- Mumbles in his sleep sometimes. It's usually your name or soft worried things about his sons
- Has nightmares but calms down instantly if you touch his face or run fingers through his hair
- Wakes up before you and just... watches you sleep for a minute with the softest expression
- If you wake up first and try to leave he'll just grab you and pull you back without opening his eyes
- "this made me think of you" and it's the most random thing but it's actually really thoughtful
- Writes little messages in the condensation on mirrors after you shower
- Leaves flowers he definitely didn't pick himself (he did) (he's embarrassed about it)
- His texting is either novel length philosophical musings or "ok" no in between
- Uses way too many crow/raven puns exclusively to make you groan-laugh
- Protective but soft
- Positions himself between you and crowds without thinking
- Remembers what you're allergic to, what makes you anxious, what helps you calm down
- Tracks your comfort levels in social situations and extracts you when needed
- Celebrates your wins harder than his own
- The "who did this to you" energy but gentle about it
- Learns your coffee/tea order perfectly and makes it without asking
- Adjusts thermostats/lighting to your preferences automatically
- Notices when you've had a hard day and just takes care of things quietly
- Keeps backup supplies of your favorite things just in case
- Does that thing where he rests his chin on top of your head when hugging from behind
- Tells you about his fears because trusting you with that is how he shows love
- Includes you in future plans casually like it's obvious you'll be there
- Gets excited about your interests even if he doesn't fully get them
- That soft look he gives you when you're not paying attention? DEVASTATING
- Voice goes gentle in a way it doesn't for anyone else
- casual "be safe" "did you eat" "get some rest" throughout the day
- Has a specific pleased rumble sound when you scratch his scalp just right
- Gets competitive about board games but lets you win sometimes (you know when he does)
- The way he says your name sounds different than how he says everyone else's. Softer.
- Tucks your hair behind your ear constantly. It's become automatic
- Gets indignant on your behalf about things you're not even mad about
- Often looks at you like you hung the stars and gets embarrassed when caught
- His whole face softens when you enter a room
- Asks for your opinion on things that matter to him because he values your input
- Talks about you to his sons (they know so much about you)
- "I saw this and thought of you" becomes his most used phrase
