I’ve made a bunch of improvements and I’ve been planning a bunch of neat and groovy things to put into the game and I plan on posting something presentable in the future

Here’s a few boss designs that I’m considering on using in Disarray. Some of these are a work in progress or might even be redrawn later on, but I do plan on using a few of them in the project.

It’s a comedic adventure about a young girl named Lemon who goes out on a quest to defeat the evil forces of a perfect alien race who plan to destroy Lemon’s home and friends and claim her world as their own. I plan to post more updates on the project later on.
Sorry for the inactivity for the past few months. I realized that the projects I was focused more on were very ambitious, so I decided not to post anything until I figured it all out. Some of the projects still have a long way to go before I start posting of their progress, but I do have a current project I'm working on that I'll show in the next post.
What programs do you use to make your sprites and tiles?
I just use gimp, but I'm wanting to get aseprite
I recently have been messing around with the trial version of FL Studio and i made a small test song that I enjoy
What do you dislike about Yume nikki fangames?
What makes a bad fangame? Anything that makes you hate playing a fangame or just mildly annoys you?
As this is for Dream Diary Jam, feel free to talk as much or as little as you feel like about it. Long and short are good :)
I don't really hate this in Yume Nikki fan games, but it mostly just feels off whenever there's dialogue or if it isn't made in rpg maker 2000-03. It's not really frowned upon or anything, but it just feels weird when newer rpg maker elements show up like font, bigger sprite sizes, etc. I personally find it very charming to see the weird and creative moments with a hint of a classic rpg maker 2003 vibe to them.
Another thing I'm not a big fan of is when there's not a big emphasis on exploration within different and unique worlds. To me, the charm of the original was all the crazy and bizarre worlds to discover. A fan game wouldn't really stick with me if the worlds weren't creative, interesting, and different from one another.
Horror game concept
A few months back, I was talking about working on a horror game and I completely forgot about it. I found some files on the game and I thought it would be fun to remake it in RPG Maker 2003. I don't have a full story laid out yet, but the basic idea is that there's this weird virus that had turned most people into weird and distorted mutants and other types of weird monsters and were going to be based off a lot of horror based films that I enjoy like The Thing, The Fly, The Grudge, and others. One thing I'm really wanting to avoid is making the game be too similar to what inspired it, Lisa the Painful. I love that game to bits, but I don't want to be a copycat or anything. I was looking through some of my older files of the game and a lot of the sprites seemed very close to Lisa's, so I had to redesign a few characters. I'm wanting to add multiple endings to the game, but I'm not too sure if I'll be able to make it work or fit with the story. Another thing I'm wanting to do is make individual death or game over animations like Dragon's Lair or Dead Space. Like I said earlier, I'm not sure if I'll be able to do that, but I'll give it a shot. That's basically all I have for now and hopefully next time I post anything about it, I'll at least have a title for it and some concept art or something.
Update
Sorry about the lack of updates recently. I've been focusing on characters and story for SPQ, but I don't have a lot to show of the game itself yet. Also, I've been working on another project on the sidelines that I'll post soon.
