[Galbraith]: Hmmm... I wonder who that guy is. The search team just doesn't give up.
Galbraith lies down in his bed, and then falls into a deep sleep.
Galbraith is sitting on a chair in the middle of an empty ballroom. He can't even tell what is going on, despite the music from a gramophone playing music. There might be a pair of eyesâsomeone is watching him. He feels uneasy.
Wadsworth finds himself dreaming.
It wasn't the first time, of course. All the nightmares he'd had, and the visits from that little cartoon skeleton he saw in the newspaper...Yes, Wadsworth was becoming uncomfortably familiar with the realm of dreams. Much to his dislike.
Tonight's dream has him wandering the halls of a building he doesn't recognize. Cadavre isn't here, and neither are any monsters or disturbing visions, but the quiet emptiness manages to unsettle him anyway. He takes another turn and comes across the doors to what appears to be a ballroom. There's music, and...a man. Sitting on a chair right in the middle.
"...H-Hello?"
Galbraith jumps out of the chair and steps backwards away from the sound of the doors opening. He ducks down. He's not even sure who or what it is but he can't speak. He sees a set of doors nearby, so he crawls towards it. He lifts his hand to the doorknob and turns it. The door opens and slips through before closing it behind him.
He starts to run through the hallway and finds the lobby, where he goes through the main entrance door to outside.
These streets are like a maze, but don't match the present yearâthis city resembles the 1920s. The sky above him is grayish green with clouds that look like an aurora. It doesn't make sense at all. He walks along the street searching for someone who can give him answers or something that can. A bank building is in his sight. He steps towards it and through the doors.
Like the ballroom, the place is empty, despite the plants, furniture, and a teller station. Something ctaches his attention: a calendar.
1929 AUGUST 1929
Is this for real? No, it can't be. But it is. Galbraith hears humming, and it's coming from the staff room on the second floor. As he gets closer, it becomes louder and clearer. The light is on and the door is left just a crack. He pushes it open, slowly. The chairs and a sofa with a coffee table between them are on the right. The windows on the other side of the room from the door display the city outside with the grayish-green starless sky, right next to it is a cabinet radio. A small kitchen with a water dispenser are on the left. Sitting on one of the chairs is a female cartoon skeleton wearing a red-trimmed black dress and a pink hairbow on the side of her head. She turns to Galbraith.
[Catrina]: Señor Galbraith, are you lost or something?
[Galbraith]: No, just... exploring this place. What're you doing here?
[Catrina]: Me? I'm searching for my husband. Le encanta explorar para aprender sobre la vida.
[Galbraith]: Huh? Whaddya talking about?
Catrina stands up with the exhale, and she walks slowly to the window, looking out at the aurora-shaped clouds in the sky.
[Catrina]: My beloved Cadavre. Es perezoso, pero no estå muerto de cansancio. He sometimes hangs out with Señor Zane, showing him all the experiences he had before. Eso es todo lo que hace.
[Galbraith]: Zane? As in...
[Catrina]: Wadsworth Zane.
Galbraith's eyes widen. He joins Catrina to the view.
[Galbraith]: You know him? Did your husband tell you that?
Catrina puts her index finger on her upper jaw and crouches, still watching through the window. They watch as a "mysterious figure" wearing an old diving suit with a cape walks past the building they're in and enters a nearby café.
Galbraith does the same like Catrina does, not making any sound.
[Catrina]: See? That's him: Señor Zane.
