I created this bind-off technique many years ago when I was searching for a more comfortable alternative to the Italian bind-off. I found it too complicated, unintuitive, and tiring, and my heart has always leaned toward simplicity. I wanted a technique that would suit any knit, look clean and beautiful, and still have a bit of elasticity. That’s how the Ruke cast-off was born.

At first, I was afraid to show it to the world. It didn’t feel “classic” or “official,” so I doubted whether it was worth sharing. But over time, I realized – if it works for me, it might work for you too. Today, the Ruke cast-off is an essential part of my work – I use it to finish every sweater, sleeve, front band, or neckline."
