don't know when I'll be back again
Antoinette fiddled with the hem of her dark blue skirt, a present she received from her best friend. Lost in deep thought, she sighed and glanced around her empty room, boxes of her most treasured items stacked neatly by the door. Then she looked out the window, silent. Good bye, Zepyhr Town...
She turned around and exited her room, her bag perched on her shoulder. Her mother had called a few days ago; exhanging a couple words with her father before speaking to her. At least they were on good terms, she told herself. That wasn't the point, however. "I've got great news," she announced over the telephone, and she could even picture her mother with a great, big grin as she shared the news.
Antoinette let out a deep breath. It'll be all right, she reminded herself. Candace was going to arrive any time soon, she'd better make her way downstairs.
'cause that's what friends are supposed to do
Antoinette took one more glance around her room, making sure everything was placed in the right spot. She'd spent the last half an hour cleaning the house - okay, so she planned to clean much, much earlier, but somehow she'd lost track of time. Luckily, she'd always been a neat person. There wasn't much for her to do, except clearing her drawing desk. Rushed and in the need for time, she pulled on the dark blue skirt Candace had gifted her and a pretty white blouse that was lingering nearby; she'd be late if she didn't hurry up.
There wasn't really much to do in Zephyr town, aside from the bazaar, but Candace wasn't coming on a Sunday. How long would Candace stay, anyway? She'd show her around town - the general places like the cafe and hotel, then her home and perhaps the waterfall - and maybe they'd talk on and on for hours again. Though she wasn't much of a talker, Antoinette enjoyed talking with her friend. It was all very nice and.. it didn't feel forced, she supposed.
Her father was working again, as usual. She left the house swiftly, hurrying past the bridge and towards the marketplace, where the bazaar was held. Antoinette hoped she'd be on time - she liked to be punctual.
