finally fucking done with all the routes, and the additional content to MC’s flashback. i felt like goddamn sisyphus with how much brain power i had to use while on drugs to help with post-op, but it all paid off in the end. this is the chonkiest chapter i’ve ever written and i have a feeling that it’ll only get bigger as the book progresses.

now all that’s left is the HoS mission, and introducing the last important member in the society. more of MC’s woes will get started this chapter, and they’ll overall not have the best time. either way, i’m just excited to get into the meat of the mystery and how the arcana will work for everyone.

Progress update

This month has been quite intense, working on the four paths for Jordan's route, tiny paths for L & T's romance routes, options for them, but also paths for those who don't romance them. Another route with two distinct paths was needed too for this route, bringing more insight into what exactly happened seven months ago.

That's to say, I managed to finish Jordan's route! It wasn't early July as I had hoped, but I did it nonetheless! Jordan's route alone is big because of everything I mentioned before. Around 90k words, well, I'd say 80k words without the repeated text, and barely 15k words per playthrough if not much less.

I'm still not sure if I succeeded in covering everything across all three routes (Athiel, Robin, Jordan), since there's still another opening to close the topic later this chapter. Once the chapter is out for everyone, if y'all catch anything missing or anything similar, feel free to DM me.

I know we're not there yet, but I wanted to give you a heads-up anyway.

With that out of the way, I'm now working on what happens next and so far, so good! (Around 20k words added so far). I think the massive routes before kind of slowed me down because writing the same thing again and again—emotions, thoughts, descriptions, and all that can be really exhausting mentally. Now I'm good to go and so freaking excited to get to write this part of the story (the one I'm currently on).

Overall, chap 5 is 40% completed. There's still a lot ahead, one of them being a headache (the sex scene winking at me and where I'll have to juggle MC's preferences, their state and personality). Bad endings too with their epilogues (I CAN'T WAIT TO WRITE THEM).

I still have plenty of points to add, lots of new stuff to set up, and so on.

JULY 2026

Hey 👋 How’s it goin’?

A few of you have been wondering where I’ve been and asking if I’m okay. Thank you, I really appreciate it 💗 I’m fine, mostly! Basically, covid showed up at my door and rocked my shit 😭 I’m still not 100% better, though I can finally breathe through one nostril, so...small wins, right? I’m definitely on the mend.

Needless to say, I haven’t gotten much done since getting sick, but I’ve managed to scrape together enough brainpower to update you on everything I finished before shit went south!

These scenes have been all about flavor and choices so far. I’ve been having a lot of fun playing with different combinations of MC confidence, experience, and each RO’s reaction to the moment.

Especially if it’s MC’s first kiss.

Hehe, some ROs are really going to enjoy that revelation.

I’m curious how many people will choose to have their first kiss in chapter 2 versus waiting for a specific RO—or playing the very long game.

On a semi-game-related note, I also decided to put together a beta testing application! I’ve realized this chapter is going to surpass the prologue and chapter 1 by a long shot, which means more variables, more characters, more branching, and far more opportunities for something to go horribly wrong behind the scenes!

I think having a fresh set of eyes go through the chapter and give feedback on pacing, bugs, and the overall player experience will be incredibly helpful.

Hold your horses, though, folks! Applications won’t be opening for a while. I just wanted to get the form ready ahead of time, and I put a lot of thought into it in the hopes of finding a great group of enthusiastic testers who can respectfully help me get my shit together 😅

I’m really excited to eventually work with some of you!

Also, related to the above, I think I may have been riding a little too high on confidence when I decided I could finish everything by my original deadline 😭 When I think about how much I still have left to write, followed by editing and testing...yeah. It’s quite a lot. I’ve breached 100K…

I really want to reach a point where I can publish more than one chapter a year, but we’re gonna have to see how things go!

Without giving away too much... I've come across the prime opportunity to add another pseudo-romance, a knight who will only join the court by Morgan's admission. Not unlike the crush on Lancelot, approaching this character in a romantic way will not lead to an actual relationship. Morgan will always consider him unworthy of her, and he actually feels the same way about himself. He is, however, at her beck and call and under her control, if she so chooses. This would become important much later in the story, but then it would be quite something. Plus, them never getting together in the end is a delicious staple of courtly love...

I genuinely think I'm going to seize this chance because it'll allow me to do sth beyond cool later on. I have some concerns, firstly about scope creep, but as this character is not a true romantic option and basically only exists to be manipulated on a few occasions, I consider it overall manageable.

The second disadvantage is that this is another man. We're getting slightly off balance here, with two male ROs, two female ROs, whatever is going on with Galahad, and now not one but TWO male pseudo-romances (the other being the crush on Lance that leads nowhere). I think I might throw in some flirty options with Sebile (was gonna do so anyhow) so that there's more girly stuff.

How's TD going?, looking forward to the next video

it's going as fast as I can manage it! I've been trying to get work done in between gigs and client stuff as often as possible. the main reason you haven't seen more TD stuff is that I spent some time working on content that i ultimately decided to scrap, and I've been doing a bunch of pre-prod work prepping updated designs, locations, ETC for the episode I'm currently working on. If you haven't seen, I decided my original plan for episode 2 would work as a series start, so I'm retooling that into a proper "episode 1" with the pilot as optional additional viewing! I might try to make a quick video showing off the scrapped content this week or next, but I'll be a bit busy, so fingers crossed I manage to put it all together. here's to hoping!

Crown of Exile First Draft Complete 🎉

​I am happy and excited to announce that the first draft of Crown of Exile is now completed 🎉

It's been years in development, and while we're still a way off from its final launch, the full game is now completed and will shift into edits in the coming weeks. What this means is that by February 2026, expect an updated Steam demo release in anticipation of the game's full release in Q2 of 2026.

I cannot thank you all enough for the amount of support, kindness and patience you have shown me. Writing has always been my passion, and so stepping into the world of designing my own interactive fiction was definitely new for me. I learnt a lot throughout this process and have come to appreciate you even more during the tough moments when it felt like the code was fighting me on what I needed it to do.

While the game is completed, it doesn't mean there won't be any updates. As I work towards polishing it for the final release, I'll be asking for your feedback. If you would like to help shape the final game, consider providing feedback through this form​.
