Went to a counter-protest against anti-immigration the other day. By anti-immigration, we're talking neo-nazi and white supremacists, essentially giving refugees a death sentence by turning them around, deporting all POC, etc. They were handing out cards about how the world is run by non-whites, whites are being replaced/"flooded" (great replacement theory shit), whites are oppressed, we need white people to unite together etc etc. The anti-immigration crowd was shouting "fuck 'em" in regards to POC. The event was heavily supported by openly neo-nazi groups.
The counter-protest wasn't massive, prolly under 200 people? The thing that really amazed and disappointed me about the counter-protest was the fact that there was, in a small crowd, MULTIPLE trans flags.
We are here to protest against racism, xenophobia, deportation and essentially killing those who have nowhere else to go. protesting against white supremacy and nazism; and you think to yourself "no, I'm not going to bring a flag or a poster relating to racism or anything. I think, actually, my white ass issue, my trans identity, is what I want to protest about. that's what I want to show off today." ur standing in front of thousands of racists and nasis. and you say "My issue matters more than deportation and xenophobia. I'm the victim here. This is about me." Everyone with a trans flag was white.
I'm so fucking sick of the (white) left. The fucking racists were legitimately more organized and more focused on their issue than we were. Thousands of them were 100% focused on this single topic. We couldn't even manage 200 people to stay on topic, they immediately had to make it about their white ass selves. be so fucking fr.
have another low effort barker 🫡
Is there a craft you HAVEN'T tried but that you've got queued up as the next big thing? Or are you more focused on continuing to refine your current favorites? (Sending kisses to the cats and doves!)
I have always wanted to be really good at sewing and I have always been really bad at it. I continue to nudge myself slowly out of my comfort zone but it's the terrible conflict of being decent in some crafts (ceramic sculpting) that makes being a novice in other skills feel especially grating. So me and my singer centennial (one forward stitch setting, no other options) continue to trudge away at very amateur sewing skills and I fume, silently, about it.
In the meanwhile I'm putting actual effort into calligraphy for the first time in my life, and that's progressing much more smoothly.
hey lets go back a second man... #wutdatmean

rtd's uncritical take on unit is wild, considering that he also wrote torchwood, where the backstory of one of the characters is "unit threw her in jail bc she was blackmailed and had no intention of letting her out literally ever".
like dude.
