And what am I doing? I'm still deep in the Yellow Bike AU I'm writing with Fern (I just remembered how we talked about it being like "three chapters tops" hahaha nope).
Tal and Rook decided to do love confessions in a crowded bar, because why the fuck not, apparently.
"Hey, gorgeous," Rook purred into his ear.
Tal set the drinks back down and half-turned to catch him by the waist and press him to his side. That happy sigh Rook always made when he did that was the best. "Had enough of stabbing people?"
"I could go for a different kind of stabbing now," Rook grinned up at him, eyeshadow sparkling in the dim light.
"We only just got here and you want to leave? Who are you? What happened to my Rook?"
Rook gave him a half-lidded look that would have been an invitation on anyone else, but Tal knew him well enough by now to see the wariness. "Your Rook, am I?"
"Only when you want to be, pretty boy," Tal shrugged, leaning down to kiss a golden cheekbone. "You're yours. Being with you is enough for me."
"Even though you love me?" Rook asked, eyes narrowed like he didn't want to believe him. "I know you do."
"I do, yeah," Tal said, catching his chin to tip his face up. "Love you too much to try and change you."
Rook's eyes crinkled at the corners with his usual bright smile. "Did you know that I love you too?"
"I noticed, yeah," Tal nodded, smiling back. It was impossible not to when those ocean eyes shone like that. "Doesn't have to change anything between us."
"I like what we have. No one's ever loved me the way you do."
"A lot?"
"Without wanting to cage me," Rook said, giving him the shyest smile Tal had ever seen on him.
"Never, little bird," Tal whispered and leaned down to kiss that smile away. "You're perfect just the way you are. Not gonna clip your wings."
Rook sighed into the kiss and caught Tal by the shoulders, fingers digging in just right. Everything was just right with him.
"So how about that stabbing?" Rook purred when he pulled away, breath ghosting over Tal's lips.
Tal burst out laughing, catching the back of Rook's head to rest their foreheads together. "You're the absolute worst," he chuckled, enjoying Rook's dumbass giggles. "Have a drink with me first."
Rook tried to pout at him, so Tal smothered his protests with another kiss. "I'll stab you later, yeah?"

Before I met my wife, I did go to a matchmaker to help me with my dates. It was a good way to begin a relationship but those relationships didn't last. With my wife, it was love at first sight. My first date with my wife, we did meet at a restaurant that was half way between us. I did like her big breasts and dominant personality but also we did share the same beliefs and values.
She was also leading some young women with a Bible Study at a church she was attending. So I knew she was a loving Christian woman too. It was easy to talk to her and I did walk her to her car and I kissed her on the cheek at the end of our first date.
After that first date, I did pick her up at her house. She had a bigger car than mine so on our dates, she drove her car and we went to places to eat where she wanted to go.
Since I was late for our first three dates, at the end of our third date she did sit me down so we could discuss things. She did explain to me that I was being disrespectful to her for showing up late for dates and that I would be spanked if I was late for our next date.
I did understand why it was being disrespectful and I had already told her that my mother had spanked me when I was growing up. So I did understand why I should be spanked. So for our fourth date, I didn't try to be late but I was late. There was a note on her door that since I was late, I should walk right in for my spanking.
I could have just walked away but since it was love at first sight and I knew it was the Christian thing to do, I walked right in and oner to her. She told me to not say a word and to put my hands on my head. I felt humiliated and also I deserved this as my pants and underwear were soon at my ankles. Then she guided me across her knee. She first used her hand to spank me and then her wide wooden hairbrush. She did make me cry and I did tell her that I was really sorry I disappointed her.
I still had to take her out to eat and watch a movie. After she drove us back to her house, I did kiss her and I thanked her for spanking me.
