Sheltered in the midst of bookshelves is how some of her time off shift is usually spent. This library is located near a university which answered her question as to why It is still operating after nine thirty in the evening. She always believed that reading to a certain amount will guarantee her results, however, this late at night outside, she never thought anyone would find a quiet indy public library more comfortable than the environment back in their own room. Megumi recently stumbled upon an interesting article on the internet regarding a book but with how aged the piece is she doubts visiting the bookstore will give her anything. The library is no doubt a more promising choice. As usual, the detective snuck canned tea into the library and managed to find the book within several minutes of scavenging. Headed straight for the seat, she noticed a presence several tables away. It was him, the man who read more than she ever did in weeks in a day. Not that she has been watching him all this time, she just assumed from all the books and a number of times she passed the male in this cramped library. They never spoke, not once, but he didn’t seem friendly enough to invite her into approaching. Besides, It’s a library she should keep the curiosity to herself. 

Her eyes unconsciously watched him as the other continued to brush his digits along the page following with the sentences. He looked concentrated but for a minute she could’ve sworn he looked as If he was going to pass out and leave the reality to the realm of letters. The typical trait of a hard working student. The longer she observed the more he looked torn and exhausted, he was probably convincing himself that finishing another page while half conscious will get him somewhere. He needed to be told. 

“Hey there big guy, you alright?” the spare can of tea was gently placed onto the table. She gestured the can to the startled student then dipped her head slightly. “Yes, I’m the lady who asked you to reach for that dusty book on the top shelf”

The mild scent of boiled herbs soon clouded the room the two are in. She must admit that in such a vulnerable moment like these simply the warmth radiating from the mug filled with tea is enough to sooth one's stress. Megumi excused herself from the room next door where a corpse laid to meet a woman she’s fairly close with having affiliated through a case the woman reported several months ago. Being a famous actress has It’s perks and also the unneeded attention of course. It is alright to express admiration to a figure you admire but to follow them home is entirely different. Megumi only got involved with the case because the man had similar patterns with the criminal in the case she was working on at the moment. Humans with corrupted minds are the people anyone should fear.

Her neighbor was found murdered drowned in the pool of velvet when the police arrived. Not only that the address is familiar the woman standing in front of the room is also someone she recognizes. The poor woman seemed out of place, fear in her eyes and the scent of terror in each word she spoke to the detective. 

“Unnie, are you sure you’re alright?”

“Street xxx-xxx, yes anything else? that’s oh-” her mobile phone in between the crook of her neck and the heated screen pressed against her cheek, her hands scribbled the address of the residence into the wrinkled sheet of paper in her hand. This is usually what happens several hours before a little mind game with the potential suspects in their den. The perks of being given this task are that she has more to see than rooms among another and stacks of files and overflowed paper. Megumi did all she was assigned then folded the sheet into her pocket. Details were being given, an in-depth history of the family and the quirks they have. She is ready to battle against any mind tactics, three cups of coffee after only four hours of being awake is plenty.

“Choi Junseo You punk!!” the detective was occupied with house scavenging when the outburst took place and shattered her concentrated state into pieces. Instinctively, the aggression in the tone called for her. Before she had the chance to act upon anything, she saw a young boy in his uniform all tugged and torn she could’ve sworn a piece of cloth was hanging from his shirt. Her eyes were still captivated on the lone runner, in a matter of seconds she witnessed a group of ten boys equipped in a different attire rush the same way as the first did. A fight was going to take place. She’s a detective, a police It’s her duty to prevent riots. A gentle groan left her lips, Megumi wanted to get the mind game over with, but she still has an hour before the time scheduled. Stopping a riot would only take minutes? with that decided she hopped onto her motorbike then headed for the same way the group of boys disappeared into. 

Wheels are spinning, time was running and his breath was escaping and she knew better than anyone. Megumi after minutes of chasing after the boys she managed to make her way through the midst of the school boys to the runner in front which she suspects is the one who attacked without a plan B that’ll assure pieces of him unbroken. Today is his lucky day. “Yah! get up here!”

Choi Junseob, Abduction, Murder, Mentally Unstable. Megumi repeated the information written in the record once again to herself. The repetition of the sequence wasn’t done out of fear, but as a reminder. Criminals with a remarkable sense of mental manipulation are what she fears. She may be one of the most skilled member of the team, but she is still twenty-five. The men surrounding her, they’ve devoted their lifetime to justice and studying the tactics and cards of these lunatic masterminds, she still has a long path ahead of her. If she does not end up dead that is. 

Her task is to observe. Observing is what she does best unlike negotiating, she was given the mission for a reason. However, there is a difficulty, earlier in the week a false evidence was collected and right before she had the chance to expose the cuffs It was taken from her by the proof from the lab proving the victim innocent. The man has every right to attack the investigation team, he saw every single one of the faces of the members. Hints were left behind yet this man managed to roam the streets, her head has been overflowed with stress for the past few days she is going to retrieve a piece of information today. She must. Megumi brushed her raven strands in place, she made sure to adjust the pieces of accessories then fixed her sunglasses. This man maybe the King of all tricks but she’s certain he won’t remember her with this much-disguised put onto her features. Inside the restaurant, she spotted the criminal from the edge of her sight and that was enough. The next difficulty now begins, the man is a monster in a human vessel and more difficult to capture than a small insect she’d rather not risk her chances. She can’t sit alone, It’s too obvious. The table closest to her has a man occupying the seat alone and busy with his screen. Within seconds, she took a seat on the opposite of the man, lucky enough she settled in before the demon turned Its head around. 

“Yes, I don’t know you and I apologize for the inconvenience but I’m going to have to ask you to co-operate” as If scripted she spoke to the man who appears to be in the state of confusion. Cross-legged, she reached for her badge and slowly slid It next to his plate with a subtle smile.”You’re not In trouble, please continue whatever you were doing”
