I saw finally Backrooms and it freaked me out lol

YEAH!!! The film really stood out to me in its control over tension, especially the first two expeditions, the set design and use of Absence as threat works so so well. This film made me genuinely afraid of the dark when I got home!

hehe yes i did watch obsession! stumbled out of the movie theatre covered in blood, my hands were genuinely shaking for an hour afterward.

doylist answer: the scare needs to be there, and the audience cannot personally smell or taste the sandwich, so that information may as well not exist to the character either. rule of perception and all that watsonian answer: yeah ive got no clue. i assumed cooking and then refrigerating bad meat could lessen the odor but according to the internet, It Does Not. common bear case of ignoring the things he finds convenient to ignore

edit hang on I sent song rec forgetting about the song intro which does suck badly. apologies for that. he did that taping-over-radio thing all the dang time back in the boombox days and it was only good once, on quetzalcoatl is born. cuz the clip is thematically relevant and the taping trick forces him to stick with this recording even tho he makes some small performance mistakes while playing, they're small but they're there. and they're really good. I fucking love zopilote machine I'm so fond of my machine #mymachine

i understand, i kind of liked the song intro! and seconding everything you say about taping tricks, i think it works well as epigraph and restraint! i'm drawing something fur it so that's why i haven't answered your ask yet ^_^;
