🌸Susan Bones🌸
It is time for some minor characters. I'm starting to get into obscure territory, yet the number of characters I have yet to draw is insane. The Potter books have SO MANY characters, it is ridikulus (hehe). I probably will not be able to draw all of them... I'll stick with the ones I think will be fun to do, and who we will at least remember were in the books. So, I am now working on some Hogwarts students: Susan Bones, Hannah Abbott, Ernie MacMillan, Justin Finch-Fletchley, Michael Corner, etc. I can have fun with the character designs, because they usually don't have many described features or personality traits. I will be using my imagination (you're warned 😉). So! Here is Susan Bones. Susan is a Hufflepuff; she was a member of the D.A., she wears her hair in a braid most of the time... that's pretty much it :) The rest, I made up. Like how she's very chatty and gets into trouble for talking in class. And she's a bit of a blabbermouth, spilling secrets when she's not supposed to. But she's also a great friend and collects people like stray cats, adopting them into her friend group. We need more of those kind of people in the world!
Enjoy Susan! ✨⭐️💛
30 weeks until the first season of harry potter starts airing on hbo !!
What makes you like susan bones ?
Okay, so this is a good excuse to talk about one of my favorite non-entity Hufflepuffs. This post is going to be similar to my Theodore Nott and Blaise Zabini ones since I'm going to be extrapolating a lot from very little.
(I actually like a lot of the random side characters in the D.A. and I think I noted about some of the puffs here. Zacharias Smith is hilarious, Ernie Macmillan is imperfect as a Puff and I find it lovely (I also think he has an older sibling(s), he gives me younger sibling vibes). I also like Terry Boot, Anthony Goldstein, and the Patil twins. Basically, I like a lot of the D.A. NPCs, Susan is one of them. These are characters we know very little about but there's potential there if you want to use it)
With this out of the way, let's go:
Based on my Harry Potter wbwl wip:
Susan Bones:
You were raised by your aunt, the head of the DMLE and uncle, a troublemaker. You have respect for rules, you believe they're there for a reason, but you also have no problem exploiting loopholes if found.
You're older now. You still respect the law, but it's different. You don't blindly believe in it. It doesn't always exist for reasons other than power plays. You've seen firsthand that law and justice aren't always enough. Laws almost killed your closest friends. And you can't do anything to change it, because you're still a child according to the world, so you can't do anything other than lie sweetly and break the rules. You're just fourteen.
Ron Weasley:
You're a young boy. You know a lot of things, how the twins stole cookies or how your father will get hurt. You know you know too much. You know you're a boy. You know your mother always wanted two girls, and you're ripping that dream away from her.
You know you're a boy, when you start school under your name. You know your mother has decided she'd settle for a lion son instead. You know you'll rip that dream away too when you look into the eyes of Death, when you're dragged to the green table and joke with the dragon.
You know you're not what was wanted. You also know they won't care when the war starts. (You wake up covered in blood you haven't yet bled, mourning those you haven't yet met. But for now, you are a boy.)
Hari Hyacinth:
You'd like to think that you still are. You've broken so many of your rules and values, creating new ones to patch up those holes. The ship of Theseus. Are you still you, or do you just wish you were? Your thirteenth birthday was the worst thing to happen to you, and yet you would never change it. Some things don't change, even when everyone thinks they have.
Theo Nott:
You are fifteen, and you are a coward. You know this, you can't escape this. Your friends are heroes. Brave, sacrificial, red. You are nothing like this, despite wanting to. You kept telling yourself you'd be part of it next time.
You were thirteen. You were in pain. You were shackled, and you knew that soon they would brand you. Soon, they would break you.
A hero saved you.
That was his last time being a hero. Now he's the one shackled.
(He's a traitor. Would they call you that as well, or would they not care?) Nobody will save him, nobody can save him. And the worst part? He's a coward as well, one who won't save himself.
You were saved from the shackles of servitude, now bound by those of guilt.
Ginny Weasley:
You were eleven and you were the daughter your mother wanted. Your brother was free and your mother hated that, and you were away from home for the first time and you can't even talk to him because he's with his friends. You had found a diary that was so entrancing and despite every instinct you opened it. And the boy, he was so nice, so understanding, he helped you when your family was too divided to care about the 'perfect daughter'.
And then you started losing time. You would wake up in strange places, with strange bruises, you'd sleep for hours and still wake up exhausted. You tried to get help, but the eldest brother was busy with his studies, the twins said it was stress, the rebel had enough problems of his own, and you didn't try hard enough. You had purposefully made it smaller, too scared it would make it real.
You still awake afraid.
Luna Lovegood:
You were eleven. Your best friend distanced herself from you, and she grew sick. She wouldn't tell you what was wrong, she wouldn't talk to you, sometimes she seemed haunted. You were hurt and confused.
You were twelve when you found out. You tried to tell people but fate kept you silent. You had to watch a stranger walk in her skin and slowly kill her. You couldn't do a thing.
Leo Ewanowicz-Potter:
It was your thirteenth birthday when you lost your twin. You're a coward, you know that. Time and time again he has saved you without thought. And now you lost him, and you owe so much of your life to him that you feels you lost yourself as well.
