Ed + getting snug when he feels vulnerable
You didn't like OFMD?
Not enough to rewatch it, no. I thought too much attention was paid to Stede's crew, especially the trio, and that none of that attention paid off, since most of their "plotlines" (I use that word loosely) either abruptly ended, went nowhere, or didn't exist in the first place, and I thought the attention paid to them actively took away from Stede's arc/plot/development, which ultimately took away from the plot/flow/etc of the show all together, since Stede and Blackbeard and their relationship were supposed to be the central conflict/plot.
I also didn't like them very much, truth be told. I thought they were all pretty flat and one dimensional, which made all the time spent dedicated to them (especially the trio) all the more frustrating, since it felt wasted, with what felt like entire episodes dedicated to them with almost no payoff, or any actual character development whatsoever. I can boil them all down to one adjective (the same adjective, even) and they never progress beyond being that one adjective. We did not need to spend that much time on them, and that so much time was spent detracted from the entire show.
Blackbeard's crew has not been shown in their entirety. We see a couple of them, and they appear in capacities that generally relate to his character/plot development in some way, whether to help establish or further it. We do not spend large portions of time dedicated to following them around when Blackbeard isn't present. But we see Stede's crew almost more than we see Stede it seems, and all the time spent dedicated to them means less time spent on Stede, which means less time spent on Stede and Blackbeard, who are supposed to be the revolving centre point. It just feels disjointed. The Tudors also had a lot of side characters, and time was spent on them, but the difference is that the time spent on them always helped contribute to the overarching narrative of Henry VIII himself (who was the centre point of the show; the point all plots/characters/conflicts/etc ultimately revolved around), whereas the time spent on the trio especially contributed almost nothing at all to Stede's arc. It felt like (and was) a waste of time. I would have preferred more actual interactions between Stede and Blackbeard, but especially just more on Stede himself, who is supposed to be, from a narrative standpoint, the main character, but he ended up feeling more like a distant side character because too much time was dedicated to the trio and whatever they were fucking around with. As a result it felt less like the romcom about pirates it was supposed to be and more 10% pirate romcom and 90% a disjointed mess of characters who were tolerable at best and bland and irritating the rest of the time, recycling jokes that I feel the media has beaten me to death with for the past ten years, but they felt I somehow hadn't heard them enough or somehow didn’t get the oh-so-subtle message so they resurrected my corpse and beat me to death with them again.

Our Flag Means Death s2 costume design | From page to screen part 2
Early on in the show, Blackbeard is wearing fingerless gloves during all of his appearances. During his first moment of intimacy with Stede, his hands are naked, having given up his pirate identity. Then, when he transitions into his new phase as "the Kraken", he's suddenly wearing full-fingered leather gloves, closing himself off from human touch. (x)
