unofficially the fifth marauder and officially Lily Evans’ best friend, Eliza Hawthorne was content to spend the rest of her final year soaking up what sun she could and cheering on her boys in Quidditch. But rumours have been spreading, rumours of a blood purity war and Sirius Black has found himself on the wrong side of it.
Having known him far longer than anyone else in the group, Eliza offers a helping hand to the disowned Black heir, sealing their newfound and undefined relationship with a kiss and a quickie in the Gryffindor Common Room.
With a new batch of troubles and NEWTs to deal with before June rolls around, Eliza tells herself just to get through this one day, and then the next and the next. But war is closing in on her and her friends, and once they’re recruited to the Order of the Phoenix it gets much harder to just get through the day. Especially as an eighteen year old expectant mother and a father who wanted nothing to do with it.
