"the beautiful ugly", legends of the dark knight ( #56 - 58 )
"It's hard to believe the man who stood on this roof and made that promise, that bond with each of us, would cross the line."
love how the main rogue gallery all have their own personal and twisted affection for gotham city, and what drives them to be the way they are. pamela wanted nature to thrive and the pollution to end so she kill those corrupt CEOs. oswald is obsessed with the underworld and wanted to re-create godfather with 1 dollar and a dream. harvey fed up with the injustice in the system and decide to solve everyone problem with a gun. edward wanted everyone in the city to see the Truth and the corruption that lurks within but he's obsessed with the Saw method. selina kyle wanted to help those in need but she had to play dirty.
and then there's jonathan fucking crane, "i love scaring people :) yay :)"
i love when the ship is basically just two people who started off as companions, but got separated due to external forces. "can't be together cus both of us are standing on two different lines. you got your world, i got mine."
i fear only cameron monaghan understood the joker, and no actors can reach that level of depth and understanding the same way he did. jeremiah and jerome got that dimension that other joker doesn't. both of them are tragic, but also a genuine threat to gotham. he's not just 1 dimensional edgy guy in a face paint ( which most actors seems to adapt in their personal interpretation ). he give you a reason to focus on his character other than being batman's nemesis.
THE PENGUIN | 1.01 "after hours"
“that’s what you wanted, right? to have my reputation precede me? you are so good at talking your way out of things. even at the cost of someone else’s life. especially then. right?”
if they introduce harvey into the universe, i desperately need them NOT to villainize his DID. i want them to emphasize that two-face is the protector of the system, and was there defending harvey from his father abuse. his strong reaction towards his perpetrator is a last resort. harvey was terribly harmed and he need to be there for him at all times.
gotham ( show ) is so evil for hiding half of harvey's face with shadow. like we get it this man is doomed by the narratives, but let us harveyheads have fun with a moment of peace..
